That is not the bottom the line! The bottom line is that a 17 year old unarmed boy was killed and the police involved as well as there superiors failed miserably at doing their job.

The bottom line is that no crime was committed! In America we do not arrest people for suspicion of racial slurs.

He was attacked by a larger person whom he felt was threat and he defended himself. Case closed!

One thing to keep in mind is that when you are armed you have a different response to aggression. You should NEVER go hands-on with someone when you are carrying. You have to either walk away or brandish the weapon. If you go hands on there is a very good chance you could lose your life (with your own gun).

Everyone needs to cool it with the race card. This could have happened regardless the color of the two actors. Based on the evidence I’ve read, I would support the justifiable homicide even if the roles were reversed.

This has nothing to do with RACE unless you are an opportunistic race baiter like Jackson and the POTUS.

Ok, I'm sure you all have heard this more times than you care to have heard it.And I wish I could just supply an audio version,or one without pictures of a little kid. But if you listen to it,to me is seems very telling.So there it is as reference.#1 He says at about 00:59 "He's coming towards me. He has his hand in his waist band ". I work at a place where I deal with thug kids every day,also I have been acquainted with several over the years. Black,white,hispanic,they come in all races and a great deal of them have one thing in common. They are very quick to start reaching in cargo pockets, or in their waistband,to act as though they have something in there, and they are going to pull it on you.It could be a take 5 bar,it could be the face for their cd player,it could be a can of arizona iced tea.Either way its not smart. And then to know that they will be gone before the police arrive,after behaving in such a way,is very frustrating! #2 at about 2:24 When the operator says "Are you following him?" "OK,We don't need you to do that" Hasn't anyone considered that perhaps the operator was telling Zimmerman such,with Zimmerman's safety in mind? I didn't hear "Do not pursue him" "Stop following him." I have a pretty good idea of how event may have transpired after all that,just based on past experiences.

If someone is breaking into my house at night and I call the guy a coon, spic, chink, etc before I properly put 2 bullets to the chest and 1 to the head in a proficient military manner that doesn’t make it a hate crime nor does it diminish my justification for killing him in my own self defense.

I think that Zimmerman, the almighty neighborhood watch captain, emboldened by his possession of a handgun, decided to take things into his own hands and "teach that punk a lesson" about trespassing on his turf. Failing to identify himself, he verbally attacked Martin and flashed his weapon to intimidate him.

Martin, was walking back to the house when he noticed some weird guy following him in his car. A usual resident of south Florida and unfamiliar with the immediate area, he immediately went into "defensive mode." The guy in the car continue to follow him, then verbally accosted him with racist language, finally threatening him with a gun.

Martin did what many of us would have done, he faced his armed assailant/stalker, shouted for help (reported in the 911 calls from neighbors) and then proceeded to whip Zimmerman's ass in self defense. (witnessed by one person) Zimmerman never expected Martin to turn around and attack knowing he had a gun, and probably was getting owned pretty hard. On his back, in extreme defensive mode and adrenaline pumping, Zimmerman pulled the trigger and killed Martin.

The aggressor and liable party was Zimmerman. He ignored the 911 operator and decided not to wait for police to handle it. He chose to use racially insensitive terms, and probably brandished a weapon to intimidate Martin.

Martin: No criminal history. His big crime against society was being tardy for school.
Zimmerman: Involved in multiple domestic violence incidents. Arrested in 2005 for felony battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Comparing the two, my gut instinct says that Zimmerman was probably at least partially, if not totally, guilty for this tragedy.

He had every right to attack the asshole. If someone followed you and started accusing you of criminal activity (WHEN YOU HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG) would you not get angry and defend yourself? Did this kid have to die at the hands of a cowardly fool who instigated that whole situation from start to bloody finish? Can you imagine the grief and pain this 17 year old boys family are going through at all? Are you trying to justify this murder on the grounds that the boy may have teased one of his friends in school?

The facts of this case are simple enough to follow both factually and morally.. A grown man followed an innocent child on his way home to his fathers house, confronted him with false accusations of criminal activity. A scuffle ensued and the (CHILD) was shot dead by the grown man. Any other aspects of this, like the size of the child or whether or not he teased a friend in school, or if he liked gangster rap or wore a hoody is irrelevent. The simple fact is a child was murdered and the murderer is walking the streets free as a bird, that is why there is so much uproar, and rightly so!!!

I wonder if Trayvon Martin would be pissed if he could hear all of you calling him a "kid".

Get off of it people. He was 17. He probably considered himself a man. Man enough to approach another man in an intimidating manner; with his hands at his waistband.

I don't know enough of the facts to say it was murder or self defense. But I doubt George Zimmerman beat himself up after assassinating a 17 year old on the street. Think people.

The truth can be a disappointing thing. Your mentality is always to sympothize. Mine is to figure out what's going on, and then sympathize. I see no innocents in this case. Bottom line, two powder kegs crossed paths, and only one walked away. Whether or not the law will see it that way remains to be seen. The case is probably closed, because they likely got to the truth a long time ago.
