Hmm i wonder if they take into account that meat lovers tend to live a more indulgent lifestyle compared to health nut vegetarians. For example im pretty sure you have more drinkers, smokers, etc in the meat lover group. Plus who really wants to live to a hundred or even eighty, most likely cant even wipe your own ass by then.

I totally support eating veggies.

If you're Christian, then remember Genesis 1:29 ->
Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

The bible didn't mention: "Meat shall be food for you", did it?

Most religions praise "thou shall not kill" mentality.

I'd like to be on God's side, so on the safe side, I will avoid involved with any kind of blood.

Isaiah 1:15 - New International Version (NIV):

When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
I am not listening.

Your hands are full of blood!

Actually, fish isn't classified as meat. I know, I know, sounds pretty stupid, huh? This is coming from Catholic thought. You know, the whole lent thing. I found out fish is not meat. Weird.

If less people are eating meat, the price will go up, not down!

Eating meat in my opinion is an act of bullying against animals. It is puts a big strain on our biosphere.

But eating those animals' food is fine?

Vegetables are not a complete source of protein. Good luck with your losing muscle gains for 2012 and beyond.

You guys need to go and look up the meaning of the word "murder!" It has never meant the killing of animals - it has always only meant the intentional killing of another human, and it always will mean that, so you better find another derogatory word to suit your cause... while I finish my T-Bone.

Do you believe eating meat and animal fats make you fat and cause heart disease? Do you believe heart disease can be avoided by eating a diet consisting of whole grains and vegetables?

I'm interested in your views on these questions. I'd like to pick your brain a bit.

My motto is, if it came out of a lab, don't put it in your mouth.

That said, the data in the China Study is pretty hard to ignore though...I ran into a little bit of cognitive dissonance with that myself. However, I still think one should eat meat products in a quantity commensurate to their lifestyle. A lumberjack, for example, should prolly eat a little bit more meat, than, say, a desk nerd (like me).

Common sense in the end, my friends.

(but, that's just, like, my opinion, man)

Most of the arguments against vegetarians are absurd. Before making any argument think of cultures that have vegetarianism, such as Hindus. Asian Indians are nearly all vegetarians and yet we never hear of a mass die off.

Also our teeth and organism can take meat because we did have to eat meat for our survival, does that mean its normal and intelligent to eat meat? Yes if your life depends on it.

I won't say eating meat is unhealthy or other things that can not be known for sure.

But not killing or be part of killing is more civilized and intelligent. I say this and im not even vegetarian but one day in the future when im not dependent on others.

the main problem with such studies is that they never take into account:

that meat in industrialized societies is contaminated with hormones, toxins, etc.

oh wait, most veggies are too.

humans are omnivorous

oh and by the way many fruits and veggies are actually poisonous,[tomatoes and potatoes belong to the same family as the deadly nightshade [thanks, xoanon]] it's just that they all have antidotes that we all eat unawares

that said the western and especially US habit of eating meat every day is a result of advertising.
one should not eat more than 4 times a week and only once a day.

Humans are fruitarians actually

look into it and eventually you will find the truth

not that i am a fruitarian yet, but my wife and i have don our research and are nutritionists...

follow your intuition, fruitarian is the only totally peacfull diet as nothing is killed, also fruit has everything the Human body requires....also it is the highest vibration diet...

did you know people of inner earth are fruitarian?

A fruit based diet will destroy your teeth in next to no time - in dental terms that is almost as bad as a sugar based diet.

Frankly though i stick by my mantra of eating whatever you want whenever you want. Always seemed to serve me well enough!

Some bible mentions Jesus ate fish. IMHO, Jesus never did.
Imagine the son of God, a loving and compassionate spiritual leader, who not realizing the suffering
of animals! This does not make sense. More than 2000 years later, it makes sense
that we misinterpreted the bible, simply because we weren't there.

I remember a video about Jesus being a vegetarian on Youtube. Here is the link. Interesting.

Historical Evidence: Jesus Was a Vegetarian

The study failed to distinguish processed red meat from unprocessed. Earlier studies have shown that only processed red meat is harmful. Moreover, the study was only about red meat. Other meats are known to be safe.

So this is not a vegetarian vs meat-eater thing at all.

I wonder if it is meat that is the problem or the chemicals in meat? There are too many chemicals consumed by as that were unaware of. They must have a detrimental effect.

Did you know that 100% of all vegetarians die?

Did you know that Adam and Eve were vegetarians when they screwed up and got kicked out of the Garden of Eden?

Do you realize that when Adolf Hitler became a vegetarian, he was smart enough not to insist that everyone else become one too?

Have you figured out that I am not impressed with people telling me how to live?

Well, I'm not against the consumption of meat, but it does strain the environment and the resources available. It is also expensive to maintain (esp. mass production) which is why franchises like McDonalds must cut corners in regards to quality in order to boost production and establish themselves across the globe. I will perhaps only consume meat maybe a few times per month or less and I'll make an effort to buy directly from local ranchers, farmers or hunters. It makes you appreciate it much more and it's not the same junk they'll feed you at popular chain restaurants.

Is it lonely way up there in the clouds by yourself, where inferior humans haven't evolutionarily ascended to yet?

The meat is already in the stores when we buy it, so how are we bullying a dead animal. I would think that responsibility would be for those who murdered the animal. All meat eaters are doing is making sure they didn't die in vain. In essence, we are really hero's.

Besides, if we are labeled as 'meat eaters'.......then why did God make animals out of meat? It's destiny, animals were put here on earth to be eaten and the fact that most are born without a gun or the ability to create one, suggests that they are meant to be taken out. Besides, most animals would eat YOU given the chance. Not saying it is more healthy, but my wife is a vegan and she tells me..."Eating like a vegan willl make you live longer" and I reply, "yes, but at what price? Your food is much more expensive, you're hungry an hour later,...constantly, and you have to sacrifice taste and furthermore who wants to live much longer in this world that is being created around us anyway? Death is amuch better option than a world police state."

I have a feeling when I go to heaven when I die.....every little cute animal I ate will be there to thank me for giving their death more meaning that a jihadist who blows himself up in a reastaurant filled with meat.
