Doesn't pride already imply an air of superiority or exceptionalism?

When did the definition of pride change in this country,or any other country?

Pride now is intertwined with Hate......

Sad,really.

I have to agree with you on the insanity of this. The "USA" is the most inclusive nation on Earth bar none. The excuses some have posted to justify this was it "had raciest overtones" How can a nation made up of everyone but as far as I know "ET"s", hey he has to pay takes if he's a citizen like everyone else, think this was raciest? Who knows. I don't say its by any means impossible.

People often use nationalistic fervor to cover up a much greater ugliness. I would have to have been there or seen a good video with sound to know the context. But someone thought something was "iffy"so who knows. Over reaction and infantile political correctness? Possible certainly. The opposite is also possible. They don't like people chanting USA, USA! Then don't invite me to one of your parties if that bothers anyone. I'm an emotional guy, and am not ashamed or timid to show it.

So the teams in U.S.A is not permitted to chant U.S.A?

Here is what I am saying. For lack of a better explanation, it should be that once a person becomes a citizen of any nation, they should then be recognized as a citizen of that nation. No further description is required! On the whole, we are all citizens on the planet Earth. Together we can be a force to be reckoned with, numbers are our greatest weapon!

I think I was the first to bring it up lol. Oh and in case you might have misunderstood, I was calling the person who wrote the article the moron, not the OP

And what should be the benefit of such adjectives? I don't remember such adjectives being used in my country. And to me don't make much sense to use them.

I assume they are for the benefit of the people who chose to use them as a means of distinguishing themselves from their fellow American. It’s simply a matter of pride in their heritage. It’s not for everyone but I don’t view it as silly. It’s a cultural thing that people outside the US may not understand.

I’m a white American of German decent. I don’t go around calling myself a German-American but I wouldn’t criticize someone for doing that. To each his own!

Ok for the people too lazy to read the whole thread here is the rundown, that the moron who made the OP article conveniently left out.

Other team and fans were being overtly racist, chanting about the whiteys on the other team.

The fans and team of the "whiteys" then took the high road and chanted USA, instead of tossing racial slurs back at them.

Internet goes into a feeding frezny for a few pages bashing those racist whiteys.

/thread

Good job falling for some biased BS "news reporting". Jeez journalists are such a joke these days.

And I'm sure you have proof of that right??

Let's see the video of them chanting "whitey".

I love how you have now excused racism because you claim they did it first. At least you now admit it was racist.

Let me spell it out for you. The chant of USA is all inclusive, not racist. It includes everyone that calls themself american.

So you don't have proof that the other team chanted "whitey".

In fact...wasn't it first sourced in a COMMENT of one of the articles.

The problem with people who are racist is that they usually don't even think they are racist...hence...they don't see racism.

This is a perfect example of media bias geared toward enciting violence.
Only part of the story is being discussed here and its all based off of what we get from main stream news.

Dont worry you will get your sources and details if you care to follow the story. Tha Alamo Heights parents whose kids have now been punished wont sit idly by. Its the same parents who were in the crowd chanting. Why were they chanting? That isnt being talked about.

I think it was a very nice way of saying hey listen here you little balnktedy blank, this is the USA and we are not supposed to put up with racism here, we are supposed to fight against it, BUT! If you make offensive moves we will defend and if you want seperation based off of color or culture or feel it is OK to mock the murder of our youth then we will defend.

Had I been there and witnessed little punk kids talking crap about a recent murder and heard them saying Alamo Whites things might have read a little different in the news.

I heard it on the radio
1200 AM WOAI. I belive it was Wednesday, around 10:00. Short news brief, including local accidents and top news stories. The part about the school was maybe all of 30 seconds long and he did say that there were words about whitey and the recent murder and the "racial chanting" by evil whitey.

Remember this. Your opinion or implied meaning matters very little in the wake of other's opinion. What you must learn to do , is express your opinion in respect to other's , but without infringing on their opinions. Unless you want to get under their skin.

Wearing an American Flag on a T-Shirt is a prime example. You love your country. Represent , let people know it is the best. Screaming it in their face , is another thing. Not only would they react and find that offensive , they would simply react in a negative way because of the lack of respect , not because you are wrong or right , but because you insulted their beliefs verbally in and in a confrontational manner , regardless of who is wrong or right.

Wearing your shirt is Passive , and gives the same amount of representation as you screaming it in their face , but without the offensive adage of confronting them on a verbal letter. Sticks and Stones may break my bones and words will too.

Words hurt more than physically fighting some one. They will remember the words you spoke more than they will remember anything else.

---

Compassion , Leadership , Manipulation , Truth , and Understanding will get you along way. When i am on the internet , i do take this into account (Somewhat) , but in person , i am very careful what i say to you. Not only out of respect for you life and feelings as a human being , but simply i can easily enlighten your opinion you have through respect and truth as well as giving you ground to argue without sounding like i am dogmatic. Which in turn comes to truthful manipulation. The Illusion of open an mind is a tool one should learn , youll be better off.

Well next time we should ask you what we are permitted to say and wear.

Are my panties ok or do they have too many dots on them?
