once upon a time climate change could be discussed without every other post saying something like "here we go again with the global warming crap". is this no longer a forum we can discuss climate change without the battle? or am i the only one who comes here anymore that actually believes in climate change (and not the cyclical kind that happens all the time that humans have no involvement in)?. has everyone else left because it's not worth the argument?

i'm really disappointed.

and now i expect a bunch of people to comment about how stupid i am to believe climate change has been accelerated by humans.

Anyone who doesn't believe the climate is changing. Come to Michigan and talk to the people and you will find your answer. This is the first year that anyone can remember that the lakes have not frozen over. (in southern MI)
We also have not had a snowstorm produce more than 3-5 inches of snow at a time. We have had record highs and sustained periods of warmth. Enough to cause trees to bud in January and my garlic to sprout as well. I laugh at people who don't believe our climate is changing. The reasons can be debated till everyone is blue in the face, but the simple fact is that it is changing. Also look what is happening in europe this winter.

Do you have any evidence that humans have caused climate change? Al Gores BS has been debunked so many times so you cant use that. Infact in the uk a court and a judge actualy called Al Gores bs Decption an lies.

Did you read the original post?

I don't care if a court finds Al Gore to be manbearpig.

This kind of partisan bickering is distracting us from the issue of climate change, regardless of how it's caused, etc.

Omg u want evidence???? then learn to read. The evidence has been piling up for the last 100 years or more since the industrial revolution and accelerated after WW1.

Oh wait you are probably one of those types who prefer the evidence to be after the fact......

Yes there is climate change. Thats the whole point, ITS ALWAYS BEEN CHANGING!!! Sometimes it goes up sometimes it goes down. Since the 80's the temp has been stable, is stable change??

I remember in the 70's we had a few bad winters and the same people who now shout "we're all going to die" are the sam people who back then shouted "We're all going to freez to death"

Climate change = MONEY & POWER

Do you all think you should have the same weather every year or do you agree that it's likely to change once in a while.
To attack me for asking for evidence is childish and a copout.

Well, if you're going to present your argument as debatable, then let us debate, I'm in. That said, Your post indicates "Climate change" cant be a cyclical event (perhaps I misunderstood) I'm of the idea that climate has changed before and will again. Some species will adapt, others will not, and so it goes.

I agree with you on so many levels, pasiphae.

I could through all the charts and stats out ,but it wouldn't matter.

Climate is changing before our eyes, that is,to those that it is affecting the most.

errr he didnt say anything of the sort. He said he does not wish to discuss about the climate changes that are not due to mans influence. In other words he is referring to the glacial periods when the Earth goes into an elipitical orbit around the sun

Well the op did START this post for the purpose of discussing climate change I assume??? or are we supposed to just agree???

Ok, I'm listening, so show me the evidence please.

If your evidence can be debunked will you admit you've been conned?

This was a polite response, I'll expect the same from you.

Dear pasiphae,

has everyone else left because it's not worth the argument?

Hello and of course you should feel free to discuss the issue on the forum. I personally do not join such threads because I do not believe that the changes were caused by industry; however, I also believe we should be good stewards and not pollute indiscriminately. I usually post in the spiritual sections and am regularly ridiculed for being a Christian, this is a place of varying beliefs so you have to expect to have people disagree and some strongly. Don't let it stop you from promoting what you believe. Peace.

I'm at a loss to see how you arrived at that conclusion ( I'm tired though) can you elaborate?

No amount of proof is going to be good enough for you and your ilk.

So go troll somewhere else.

you mean this

actually believes in climate change (and not the cyclical kind that happens all the time that humans have no involvement in)?

Well the climate definitely made a change, yesterday was kind of warm but today, got windy and cold at the same time. Definitely freezing here. Actually feels like winter here without the snow.

here is your proof you requested. I am sure you know how to use a dictionary for those big words......

I personally don't think you are stupid for believing that. Just as I can't think it is stupid for people of faith to believe. Some of my best friends I have share the same types of beliefs and I have the best discussions with them. I personally don't believe we had any hand in speeding up climate change at all. The scientific community has flip flop'd on the subject more times than the FDA/USDA has flip flop'd on what foods are healthy for us to eat....I remember when pasta was deemed a healthy food....

For me it is history that I have to look at to determine cause and effect. As is said, history repeats itself. While there has been no industrial age (we know of) in the past, there has been climate change and we happen to be in a general cyclical time frame in which it "may" occur. To suggest we have sped it up would also suggest that we can specifically state a date the last few times it began and know that we are starting it earlier this time. As far as I have researched I have never seen a specific date to reference this to.

Again, just my .02 but an honest question deserves the same type of response.

No! I mean the entire post! I've read it a few times now and I can't get a grip on where you're coming from? I see the OP's point as being the idea of climate change should be debatable without the slings and arrows of those who justify their cause using handed down or ill adopted beliefs i.e. it's cyclical. The OP indicate to me that the Idea/belief this person holds is that human activity is driving the so called climate change. If I'm wrong, then show me some light please
