As for updates on my experienced, I called today to ask her if anything else happened, and she said yes, but only one thing. A light that she had left on in the living room when she went to work was off when she went home. We have been taking extra care to remember what lights we leave on and doors we leave open, so unless someone came into her house just to shut the light off while she was at work.... for some reason this thing mostly like to mess with the doors and the lights, if anything else we haven't noticed yet.

It doesn't seem to be hostile towards her, but definitely trying to get her attention! I think it has a message it wants to share, like I said before.

I guess I could go into more detail about my former friend's house. (the place where I saw the floating lady apparition and she caught the shadow person on her phone camera) My friend, we'll call her Renae... She told me that her house was very haunted. I always wondered why she kept moving her bedroom from room to room. She started in the basement... then moved to one of the bedrooms upstairs, then the other bedroom, then the attic, then back into the basement. It turns out she was trying to get away from the activity and was hoping that by changing rooms, it would at the least, diminish slightly. It didn't. The worst was the attic room. I always felt uneasy there, especially on the stairwell. (which is where that being was captured on camera) It just felt heavy and like you were being watched. One night while I was staying over, it sounded like a group of kids running above us. The only problem is that we were on the top floor. The only thing above us was the roof. Then we started hearing the faint sound of children singing... like when they play jumprope or Ring around the rosie type singing... That's when I had enough. We ended up sleeping in the living room that night and I told her I refused to sleep anymore in that room.
A different time, we were in her basement. It was around Christmas time and we were exchanging gifts. It was me, her, our mutual friend and my mom. Randomly, while we were all conversing, I heard a weird jiggling metallic noise coming from my right. I looked and her doorknob was not only rapidly jiggling back and forth (as if someone were trying to get in) but the actual door itself was moving in and out slightly as well. Renae kept her door locked because she lived with her dad and he'd constantly try to come by when she had friends over. So I look over at Renae as this is happening and she just looks back at me, wide-eyed with an "I told you so" look. I jumped out and opened the door, expecting her dad or sister to be on the other side, playing a joke or something. There was no one there. I went upstairs and nothing. No one else was home. I came back into the room and was pretty speechless. Renae had told me this would happen every now and then but again... I thought maybe it was stress playing tricks on her/etc.
Another weird thing about her house is there was a lot of dead animals in and around her house. Now she did live next to a Metro park but where I live, those are everywhere... and coupled with all the activity, it just was strange.

Going back to shadow people... I had a strange experience when I was around 13. (in case people were wondering, the bulk of my experiences happened between 10 years - 14 years... then spiked again around 19-21 when I was hanging around Renae a lot... we seemed to draw things towards us especially when we were around each other)
Anyway, I was staying over at my Great Aunt's house during summer vacation. I hadn't gotten a lot of chances to spend one on one time together so my grandma thought it'd be nice if I spent a day or two over there. Besides, she was newly divorced and kind of lonely, I would imagine. So, we had an awesome day together. We went go-carting and to the movies (Independence Day just came out in theaters) and everything was great until it was time to sleep. I have sleeping issues even when I'm at home. It's worse when I'm at someone else's place... So I didn't sleep easily but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary, until I woke up. Now, I've always been a night owl even at that age... So when I woke up at around 8 am... I thought that was strange to begin with and it was for no particular reason. So I laid in bed a moment, debating on whether or not to wake up when the light fixture on the ceiling caught my attention. I noticed a strange reflection... I sat up to get a better look... and it was ths blob like figure... It was black and had a head and shoulders but the rest was unstructured or cut off by where the light fixture ended... I moved my hand around in the reflection, trying to see what was causing this reflection. When my hand got to the figure, it disappeared... So basically whatever was causing this reflection was not physically in the room. I also noticed it seemed to have small slanted yellow eyes. At that, I bolted out of the room. My aunt was surprised to see me up as it was so early she hadn't even left for work yet. I just told her I was having trouble sleeping. I didn't tell her about what I had seen because adults never believed me when I've told them about any of my experiences and I wasn't close with her. After she left I called and begged my grandma to pick me up early (she was coming at noon) and she refused.
Story doesn't end there... Years later (about 5 years ago... and I'm 32 now) I asked my cousin (My great aunt's daughter) if she ever had experiences in that house since she had lived there growing up. She said no and asked why I asked. I told her... and she said that "Come to think of it... My mom did say something weird happened when you stayed over." I asked her what... and basically she said that my aunt woke up in the middle of the night to me standing next to her, watching her sleep... Now, I have ZERO recollection of that and I have never been known to sleep walk... So either that wasn't me... Or it was and I just happened to only sleep walk the night before I saw that thing. Was I possessed? I mean... it's messed up either way.

I don't mean to "serial post" but since I tried to edit one of the above messages and instead, it reposted it... I will share one last story for the moment...
I guess I can talk about a local urban legend called "Hell Town". You can google it now and there's a good amount of info about it. Back when me and my friend originally went, there really wasn't. I don't even know if Google existed back then. (I was in 10th grade I believe) Anyway... I was looking up ghost stories at school (I was bored) and came across a site with urban legends and noticed a place not too far from where I lived called Hell Town. It has haunted cemeteries and churches... and an abandoned house... It was a whole town full of paranormal activity and locations. So I asked Renae ( who else?) if she wanted to check it out and she did. It turned into a routine place we'd drive through. Normal teenage girls go cruising but when we cruise it was at night in a haunted town... lol.
Weird things happened since we started going. For one, our car doors would randomly unlock and sometimes open on their own. This was only AFTER we had started going there. Mind you, you can say mechanical error... But it was 3 or 4 different cars that this happened to and 3 of the 4 had mechanical locks, not electric. We told our mutual friend (the same oblivious friend in the basement at the Christmas exchange who didn't notice the door handle and door moving) and she didn't believe us until it happened while we were with her. Anyway... for the most part, honestly, nothing major would happen when we'd go out to Hell Town. However, one night, some things did... We made our usual trip towards the abandoned house (it's the one they talk about online where there are no trespassing signs right by Brandywine ski resort). Unfortunately the cops were patrolling heavy that particular night. Technically the house lies on Metro park property which is closed at dusk. We had never had problems going there before, even got out of our car and walked around before but on that night... It wasn't happening. So we drove by the entrance to the house and turned into the next driveway which was the welcome Inn or whatever it's called. It was gated off but there was enough of the driveway exposed to turn around in. Otherwise I would have had to drive very far down, up large hills to turn around again. So as I am about to put the car in reverse, Renae starts screaming. I ask her "What?" repeatedly and she just replies "Go. Go! Go!" So I pulled out quickly and left. Several minutes later, once she calms down a little... she finally tells me what her issue was. She saw the ghost of a man near the gate, staring at us. He appeared dated... as in not from "our time" He was wearing hunting gear, including one of those floppy-eared hats (don't know the technical term) and had an old-style rifle. I was freaked out after hearing that and she was still buggin' so I said we should stop for a minute to calm down. We went to the BP nearby. She collected snacks and I had to go to the bathroom. As I'm going, I'm still on edge and notice the lights were motion-sensored. I thought to myself that the lights better not go out... and as soon as I thought that, the lights went out. I screamed and bolted out. The attendant and my friend look at me funnily... and I merely tell them the lights went out. Luckily there was a sink outside so I was able to wash my hands. We collect our snacks and head back out to the car only to see the driver's side back door is not only unlocked but wide open. Now, you could say that someone was trying to break in/etc... However, #1... my friend was in the front the whole time, right by the huge glass wall where you can clearly see everything outside. #2 Nothing from the car was taken. We had both of our phones in plain sight... my stereo (which had the removable face plate), our purses and my video camera were all untouched... It was from that day forward that the doors to our cars would randomly unlock and sometimes open.

Wow, Rinella! You have told so much, I will never have time to catch up and reply in detail. But, I thank you so much for sharing your amazing stories with us!

I do want to ask if your friend is still living in the "haunted house"?
If so, it sounds like a great place for The Dead Files team to investigate. The medium is Amy Allen. She seems to be quite gifted in finding out the root of what's going on, and how to get rid of unwanted "guests".

No. This was about a decade ago. Her father lived there a couple years after she left but even he left eventually. He never saw/experienced anything there but he was very cynical. I believe her sister did but not to the extent as us and she was not there often.

Well, you are both probably highly sensitive, or more open-minded, than her dad, or anyone else who didn't experience anything. It's people like that who have such experiences.

I feel like I've hijacked the thread... But I can briefly talk about the lady I caught on camera because I actually have that picture. I wish I would have kept the original file as it was much larger but I resized it before I noticed anything unusual. I was taking pictures of an eyeshadow palette I got in a UK swap and noticed a strange reflection.

I circled it with the Paint application so you can see it. It's a women with her hair pulled back. The strange thing is that (like a reflection) you can only see it in the window part of the picture. Now I was standing directly above when I took this with my point-and-shoot camera. So it was not a reflection of anything in real life. I have no explanation for it. Oddly enough a couple days later, I saw a full body image of an Asian woman standing next to my bed. However, I was dozing off at that point so I can't say with 100% certainty that it was anything concrete. It was still odd.

Cool! I can't tell if the image looks Asian or not in that picture. It could be one of your guides, or someone that attached themselves to you at some point.

Is there anyone you could show it to and ask if they had a family friend that looked like that? Or, dig through some old records of who may have died close to the house?

It actually happened at an apartment I was staying at so I would have no way to know. I only lived there for a year and never really experienced anything there. I was told by a psychic a long time ago that I had a female spirit attached to me but she didn't go into specifics. To me the lady in the picture looks Japanese but I am biased as I love the Japanese culture so who knows.
I didn't get a negative vibe, whatever or whoever it was... I was just shocked to see it, especially there in a makeup palette... Lol.

Okay, so then, I get the feeling this could be a guide of yours. Our own psychic sense will let us know when anything threatening is around us. The more psychic a person is, the more you'll notice it, but everyone gets some kind of "clue".

Well, I don't feel very well guided. Lol! I feel lost most of the time. I thought maybe she was attached to the palette itself our possibly that apartment. I had never seen her before and haven't seen her since. I'm honestly not sure I believe that spirits linger here to be frank. When I've seen the apparitions they seemed to be completely oblivious of my presence. I've come to the theory that I was looking back or forward into time or maybe a parallel universe when seeing these images. (speculation, of course)

Well, you could be right, but everyone has at least one guide. They help us stay on the path we chose before we were born, and if we get off track, they help influence things to get us back on track so we can learn the lessons we came here to learn.
Sometimes the lesson may be a very hard road to follow; we might feel lonely, depressed, or think we are the only one who has to endure the strife we are facing, but it is all so we can learn to overcome and grow stronger. Earth is a school... a very hard school sometimes.

If you are feeling lost, ask your guide(s) to show you the way, and then stand back and just let life happen. You will be guided where you need to go.

Yes... I do agree about being sent here to learn. I will try your advice and see what happens. I have prayed to be shown (even though I'm not religious and don't necessarily believe in God... which is odd) but never gain any clarity. Anyway... don't want to get into a tangent about that as this is not what the thread is about.
So to get somewhat back on topic... do any of you have these weird images while you're lying in bed trying to sleep. It almost feels like what remote viewing sounds like but they are never places I have seen in real life so I have no idea. It's not sleeping because I'm completely awake... It's really odd.

Yes, I see images of faces that pop into my head, scenes of places, and some very strange geometric designs at times too.

I don't know what that is about, unless it's flashes of past lives, or maybe even a parallel world that we get a glimpse of while our mind is at rest. The universe is made of geometric designs, so... maybe I'm getting something about it.

I'm no expert on that, but to answer your questions, Yes, I do.

I've been a bit of a freelance ghostbuster of sorts since I was knee high to a grasshopper. This is one of the cases I solved about twelve years ago.

A young client "Jimmy" and his parents complained of what I determined to be a poltergeist. It had both visual and physical manifestations and appeared as a young girl with dark hair whose face was always in shadow. "She" would appear usually when the Jimmy was alone with his younger sister "Pamela" while their parents were working, though everyone but Pamela had seen it. It would also get violent, but only with Jimmy.

After visiting the family and doing some ritual probing of the home and energies, I discovered that whenever the sister was present, the "vibe" of the 'geist would be in the house, while if she was gone it was a very minimal feeling like residual energy. That was when I decided to talk to Jimmy and Pamela separately.

I asked about the last incident he had with the poltergeist, in which it had lobbed his sister's shoe at him. I asked him what had happened right before the incident, and he reluctantly admitted to dumping a cup of ice cubes down Pamela's shirt a few minutes before the shoe incident. So, loaded with this information, I had a lengthy discussion with Pamela about how she was feeling, how the funny things her brother did weren't so funny anymore, how she had a lot more feelings about things than she used to. Kid was getting ready to hit puberty like a ton of bricks.

I discussed with her parents the idea that having her just do some basic meditations and getting Jimmy to lay off the pranks would help with the weird things happening around the house. Fortunately, the family was Japanese, so they didn't associate satan with meditation and everything worked out. The poltergeist troubled them no more, and Pamela got through puberty without inciting a Discovery channel special about her family.

I don't think it was Pamela herself. The incidents occurred when Pamela was in a different room. However, I think that Pamela was generating her due to severely repressed emotions-- she was in fact quite upset with her family for various preteen girl reasons that went above and beyond "like my mom and dad JUST DON'T GET ME like at all /tears" kind of stuff. Literally everything was wrong, from friends to school to boys to family (nothing was really wrong, nobody was hurting or starving her...just regular groundings and homework) but nobody really had time to listen to every little thing and it was driving her mad.

I have noticed that people who have strong but repressed emotions tend to make weird things pop off around them. Pamela in this case had a target, her prank-loving brother, upon whom to focus those repressed emotions, as well as significant frustration with her parents, who also saw the geist. I'm 100% sure it was Pamela's inner turmoil causing it, based on who it targeted and the fact that it dissipated once she took steps to better channel her emotions.

That seems very familiar to what happened in my house, before i moved in.

My neighbor is a psychic medium and there was a pre-teen girl going thru puberty that lived in my house (before me).

Neighbor said there was something in the house bothering her but dismissed it as something linked to her puberty sadness / depression...but there was definitely something there.
