But, it is Bush's fault...still...

I'm denying your ignorance. If all of our problems fall onto one man, then we have seriously f'd up our system. Point is, that it doesn't fall on one man as much as people would like it to.

Really?! Gas prices were $1.58 in 2008? Hell no

It was, in December

January 2008 - $3

Dec. 26, 2008—Gas prices tumble to $1.64 a gallon. Some areas seeing prices as low as $1.45 a gallon. Crude oil is just a little over $40 a barrel still.

Dec. 31, 2008—Crude oil prices plummet below $37 a barrel while the U.S. average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline falls to an amazing 5-year low of $1.61.

I'm curious as to what you think the reason was for that dramatic decrease in gas prices in the last quarter of 2008?

Wouldn't you consider that December 2008 price to be an artificial low?

Of course it was artificial.

I think the reason was because of the speculation commodity trading had busted out on margin calls and traders converting to cash only, as a result of the crash.

The public had also slowed down on buying gas.

Oil and Gasoline are traded on the open market with loads of price swings.

That is exactly what I think.

And which is why I think it is dishonest when people try to compare that artificially low gas price to today's gas price.

True to a point. The 'politics' is with the taxes from the Federal, State, and Local government(s).

There was some talk of the Feds reducing the tax on gasoline but I don't think they ever have.

The oil/gas price is set by speculators and false supply/demand and shortage/overstock international manipulators.

The only way to control energy prices is to produce and sell at a non-profit basis.

Hard to accomplish with all the financial/money psychopaths all over the place.

The public has some control however, with the buying demand.

No need/demand = cheap price

Is there something else that I can do in order to somehow tie it to my account? I'm fairly new here, should I subscribe or something else? If someone could let me know...peace.

Subscribing would probably be best, then you don't have to leave a post, you just hit the subscribe button, then it shows up in your MyATS section, however after a certain period of time I think it times out or something.

The subscriptions list will dwindle as fewer posts come up.

The most active are on top in order of new activity to a thread.

But even if it "disappears" off your page, it will "re-appear" when a new post happens !!

If you were to subscribe to an old thread with an old post at the end, it may not even show up on your list until new activity happens.

Dear American Taxpayer

For only the second time in my adult life, I am not
ashamed of my country. I want to thank the hard
working American people for paying $242 thousand
dollars for my vacation in Spain .

My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends,
my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time.

Honestly, you just haven't lived until you have stayed
in a $2,500.00 per night private 3-story villa at a 5-Star luxury hotel.

Thank you also for the use of Air Force Two
and the 70 Secret Service personnel who tagged
along to be sure we were safe and cared for at all times.
By the way, if you happen to be visiting the Costa del Sol ,
I highly recommend the Buenaventura Plaza restaurant
in Marbella ; great lobster with rice and oysters!
I'm ashamed to admit the lobsters we ate in Martha's Vineyard were not quite as tasty, but what can you do if you're not in Europe , you have to just grin and bear it?

Air Force Two (which costs $11,351 per hour to operate
according to Government Accounting Office reports)
only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip
and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2.

These are only rough estimates, but they are close.
That's quite a carbon footprint as my good friend
Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American
citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and
drive less too, so we can lessen our combined
carbon footprint.

I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling
to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet.
So I do appreciate your sacrifices and do hope you
find work soon.

I was really exhausted after Barack took our family
on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago.
I just had to get away for a few days.

Cordially,
Michelle (Moochelle) Obama

P.S. Thank you as well for the $2 BILLION dollar trip
to India from which we just returned!

P.SS. Thank you, too, for that vacation trip to
Martha's Vineyard; it was fabulous.

And thanks for that second smaller jet that took our
dog Bo to Martha's Vineyard so we and the children
could have him with us while we were away from the
White House for eleven days. After all, we couldn't
take him on Air Force One because he might pee
on some wires or something.

P.SSS. Oh, I almost forgot to say thanks also for
our two-week trip to Hawaii at Christmas. That 7,000
square foot house was great!
P.SSSs don't forget my ski trip to Vail this winter
and now the girls and I are in Africa with my mom.
All this while Barack golf’s and campaigns to
keep my trips coming for the next 4 years !
Love ya!
Remember, we all have to share the pain of these
economic times equally!

Yet Another Taxpayer-Funded Vacation for Michelle Can Our Economics Afford Her?
She likes living the good life on the taxpayer’s dime, there really is nothing funny about an individual so seemingly concerned with the ideals of financial equality who time and again proves herself willing to embrace a lifestyle reserved only for the super wealthy.

Yes, Seated on her throne and choosing her next play ground to jet off to at American Tax Payer Expense.

Textsome people called me out on me not being American and therefor deemed the information provided invalid.

Now i see why.

No president in the history of humankind could have got the Americans out of what the roman republican bush did to the world, the economy, and the respect American once had in foreign affairs.

The information you provided holds no clear water, its flawed terribly, and has no meaning of what could have been done after George bush of 8 years. Obama is cleaning up a very big mess of over 30 other presidents’ mistakes.

Why don’t you worry about the president of your country?

Its no way a real person who is not racist, or has basic common 'reality since' would believe that any of this is his fought...he was dealt the cards he was given.

what are we going to do?

must we really pick up our pitchforks and head for the capitol?

I have my pitchfork ready to go! I am all for heading to Washington and pulling the criminal bastards out of their comfortable offices, drink their single malt scotch, eat their grade A prime strip steaks then put all their heads on pikes to remind anyone what happens when you wake a sleeping giant! We the people are the sleeping giant! So, when does the crowd start forming?

People have already showed that this is BS, that the economy is improving, but I want to add this: what kind of control do you think the President (or any world leader) has over the economy? Half of these are about jobs; do you expect the President to interfere with business and stop them from offshoring and outsourcing? "Oh no, because that would be fascist!" Oh, so you want him to create more government jobs? "No, we need a small government!" You want him to lower taxes? "Oh God, we can't even pay for basic infrastructure! Do something, Obama!" You people want perfection where perfection is impossible; you want the government to get involved with everything you want it involved with, then you want it not involved in all the things you don't want it involved with, and you want your taxes lowered then you complain about debt even as you are eating government subsidized food and living in a safe world due to police and firefighters. You can't have this both ways.

Face it. If you want to have an economy that grows as fast China's, you have to have a government like China's. China forces the people of China to deal with horrible pollution, crap wages, and spends most of their money on infrastructure so that more factories can be built rather than feeding their own people. In the US, we respect free trade and try to keep our noses out of business. The only thing the President has any even slight control over is the government budget. So, our debt has risen - due to what policies? Policies Obama put in place, or programs that were already in place? Food stamps have gone up - because people are poorer because our economy is bad because of a couple thousand speculative bankers who ruined everything! This is a complex issue that the President cannot solve by waving a magic wand and getting rid of all governmental departments. But if you'd bother to do any real research, you'd see that Obama came in unable to do anything. The president has very little power here unless you want China's government. Which if you do, move to China.

The same forces Bush had to fight against to make things better are the same forces Obama is combining with to make things worse.

Carseller, once again, has dazzled and amazed us with absurdity far beyond the likes of anything ever before witnessed by the common man.
