The only sound I hear now is the sound of bull$h!t coming from your keyboard.! I heard the sounds myself with some students I was around 28.52.08.50N 93.00.08.13 W. you call it a hoax with no proof.

Well a Carrington event is a big thing. In 1859 there was so much electricity in the atmosphere that the northern/southern light could be seen all over the world even in the tropics. That’s probably a partial and temporary collapse of our magnetic field.

The telegraphs were throwing sparks and when disconnected from their batteries they were still operating with currents induced from the atmosphere.

If you read through the old articles the description of the phenomena is spot on!

1864 is after 1859. Thus the noise he heard was after the Carrington event. Does sound travel slower when the air is heavily magnetized?

Strange. No one I know know has heard odd sounds coming from the sky. We must all be blinded by the man!

Now what could be the cause? Here's a few thoughts, most already suggested on the Internet.
a) venting gas/ atmosphere from vast underground complexes.
b) setting up the masses for a black flag 'alien invasion' (see other thread here on ATS)
c) the horns of the angels indicating the end of the world is upon us
d) lots of individuals taking part in roughly coordinated hoax
e) diversion by governments and/or the worlds elites to divert the masses from the economic peril they face (i.e. the real threat)

I'm sure this has already been said by now, but you seem to be missing the most obvious explanation. I've said it numerous times, and I'll say it again. I believe it's the sound of underground boring machines that are drilling massive holes through the Earth as part of the underground base projects. That's the most plausible explanation in my mind, because we know for a fact that these underground bases do exist, and we know for a fact they use massive nuclear boring machines to create them. It's just hard to tell where the sound is coming from because it echoes and it resonates through the air.

Seems you have been a very accomplished person, but I find it hard to beilieve anyone would mingle in an area where they find the people below them and not their peers or colleagues!

I hope one day I get to the point where I can tell that an entire group of people are beneath me - or above me.

I imagine with all the experience you have accumulated over your lifetime, you must have lived and visited many many different places. Have you ever heard anything like is being described by people here and throughout the world over the past couple years?

I personally have not heard this anywhere else than where I live, though apparently it is happening everywhere. Maybe it has been happening all over and I never knew until I heard it myself... kinda like the Aztecs, they were unable to see the ships on the horizon, even though they were there, because they had never seen anything like them before.... or something like that.

A scientist has already explained the noises in a very believable way IMO. I'm not talking about the Canadian scientist, but a scientist from somewhere in the east. His credentials look very good, and his hypothesis credible. There was a post here on ATS a few days ago with the link. Try searching.

Yeah, it's funny because people like to attribute the sounds akin to the trumpets of the apocalypse, sounds like a good idea for a screenwrite right? just embedding it again, because the coincidence of having a movie with nearly identical sounds to the phenomenon should set off red flags.

what concerns me are those who have commented on the various youtube videos claiming they heard either the sound referred or sounds in other areas. Because its difficult to tell what is real anymore online the whole damn thing has obviously become the first 2012 conspiracy craze! Elenin revisited

heard it for the first time last week myself and noticed this also. i was in south eastern PA at the time. it sounded like a large prop engined airplane that never moved but occasionally the frequency would go higher, but then lowered again. it went on for about 35 minutes give or take.

In many places you hear these within the last few years because that's only when the technology has been widely deployed.

Prop-engine plane is closer than you think, they're powered by whole bunch of Really Big Block heavy-metal engines. You're hearing the engines and the pumps. This is macro-engineering, none of that wussy electronics or nano-stuff.

Before thinking about bizarre conspiracies and pseudophysics, consider the alternative. Knowing that these fracking operations are a fact, think about these questions

Q:

a) would they make a loud sound?
b) if they did, what would they sound like?
c) should we be expecting to hear something new now that fracking is being used all over the place?

A:

a) you betcha
b) they would sound like a gang of big engines and pumps droning but not going anywhere. They wouldn't be on continuously 24x7, but could be on for hours at at time.
c) drill baby drill

It is a black hole in or near the solar system. The sounds are magnetic waves that interfere with the electromagnetic field of the Earth causing tectonic stresses. If what I believe is true, there will be a vary large scale earthquake this March, about mid March to be exact.

Another note, while working with some pvc tube, I took a piece of it and for fun blew across the opening and it made the sounds that are heard around the world. And those sounds were made due to pressures in the tube from the air I blew across it. It's the same thing when something nears a black hole in space.

There is no atmosphere in space to carry sound..............also........if a black hole is strong enough to suck in light , what makes you think that it wouldnt do the same with sound

Those who have Google Earth should go to Google sky. Then type in Leo 23, then search. Then back out a tiny bit, then check The Infrared sky box. right next to Leo 23 to the right, is what is coming. These images are from 2007. It's much closer now. Alot of people know about this.

Oh and uh, I invite any yes man robot slaves out there to find one other thing like this on Google Sky in regular Google sky or infrared sky. Only thing I might disagree with at least on this forum is the claim in the video that black holes are as credible as alien abductions. Don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Would you still feel the same way if you knew that humans had developed amazing cloaking technology and had also utilized anti gravity and constructed crafts which seem like they should be from another galaxy.

Then would this seem more plausible ?

tonight in Puerto Rico strange lights were seen in Guaynabo City and a loud plane like sound was heard...it was covered by the local news paper.

the translation goes something like this:
"Residents of Ponce De Leon in Guaynabo reported seeing at 7:00 pm today strange multicolored lights in the sky and which in turn emit a loud noise like a plane.

Allegedly, the lights have been seeing for about a month and witnesses said there are several areas of each night lights distract and frighten residents.

The strange shapes are spherical, they land at times and then move toward various directions.

Many of the witnesses have begun to take photos so to demonstrate it and publicize them."
