I don't care wether or not people are too scared to read this but this deserves more attention ATS!
Look at the response to this, and youve got your answers about how much ATSers really care. If the title was "Cop shoots dog!" or "Leftist Death Panels Coming to Abort Your Baby!" it would have 30 pages of replies in 12 hours.
But when Americans start dying in droves and the West is uninhabitable, ATSers will find a way to blame it on Obama, "liberals" and "socialists", I am sure of that.edit on 2-2-2012 by aching_knuckles because: (no reason given)

The West Coast of Canada is getting hit by debris from Japan … and at least some of it is likely radioactive.

I agree with Sceotical Sam, Chernobyl was big thing but the Russians at least manage to put the disaster under some sort of control. With the Japanese all quiet & ????
A number of Bible scholars consider the term Wormwood to be a purely symbolic representation of the bitterness that will fill the earth during troubled times, noting that the plant for which Wormwood is named, Artemisia absinthium, or Mugwort, Artemisia vulgaris, is a known Biblical metaphor for things that are unpalatably bitter.[8][9] One interesting theory is that nuclear weaponry could be called wormwood. For example: Ukrainian synonymy 'wormwood'. They do poison the water where they are detonated, thus explaining the correlation. Some[10] even point to the Chornobyl disaster as a possible fulfillment of this prophecy, as the name Chornobyl is said to translate to "wormwood."[
in the Book of Revelation: "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and upon the springs of water; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and a third of the waters became Bitter; and many people had died of the waters, because they were made bitter." (Revelation 8:10, 11 - KJB).
Although many people associate heavy water primarily with its use in nuclear reactors, pure heavy water is not radioactive. Commercial-grade heavy water is slightly radioactive due to the presence of minute traces of natural tritium, but the same is true of ordinary water. Heavy water that has been used as a coolant in nuclear power plants contains substantially more tritium as a result of neutron bombardment of the deuterium in the heavy water (tritium is a health risk when ingested in large quantities).
