Hi I am the pilot that took this photo and it is genuine
Thanks for your interest
David Hastings

**cough** **cough** BS **cough** **cough**

Had plenty of people claim to be someone they are not. Im sure in time, when admin ask you to verify your claims we will see yet another deleted account.

I bet your IP either matches with the OP's. or a believer in this thread.

cough** cough** rude ** cough** cough

If it is the pilot, (and why not the guy is still alive) don't you think this is rude, foolish and unnecessary?
Why would you want to embarrass yourself in front of everyone by eating your feet like this? I notice his account has not been deleted. Perhaps you should apologize to the man. We wonder why experts never stay and converse at ATS very long. It isn't cause the mods remove their account. It is because the juveniles aboard think they're all so clever and smart and insult them before they have a chance to speak.

How can this be "the best" UFO photo ever?

It looks entirely like some artifact or something very close to the lens, the focus is not right at all if it were a real object.

And why is the "object" exactly (and I mean: EXACTLY) centered in the middle of the photo? I would like to see the original photo if it exists. There is no way someone shoots an UFO and it is 100% centered in the photo, as if arranged or shopped.

Plane full of witnesses and a co-pilot saw the same thing. He took the picture without seeing what he was capturing on the film by holding the camera out and shooting where he couldn't actually see. It has also already been to photo experts and verified as genuine, and not tampered with. After reading the full story, which clearly you didn't, I have to say this is one of the most amazing photographs ever taken. It is in my eyes near 100% certain proof spacecraft from other planets are visiting this one. I hope Mr. Hastings will return to the thread and tell us more.

....And provide us the original photo, as already asked, but without success.

Otherwise, any work on it is useless.

Looks interesting. Could it be a photo of one of them new govt flying triangles. It was taken over the mojave desert after all. Also, I like the shadows below it.

I say it' not damage to the photo and that it's a real object he captured.

In David Clarke's UFO Files book, there are two photographs from the same perspective. The first showed Nevada landscape and the second has the object.

Clarke spoke with Hastings and suggested the possibility of secret technology. Hastings was unconvinced and said, 'Having flown for over 40 years like most pilots I have always accepted UFOs. You only have to look up at the sky at night to realise that we cannot be the only planet that supports life.'

Interesting photo and story
The question is, is this evidence of UFOs or human deception?

And even then, the ultimate value of any additional work on it is dubious. Hastings said he didn't know what it was. Even finding some way to prove that the photo is legitimate isn't going to shed any more light on the event, unless some odd "enhancement" manages to turn up an Air Force decal on it.

So no way it's an Air Force black project aircraft, or maybe a craft from another time or dimension? Another planet or nothing? Which planet do you think it came from, if you're so sure.

Another dimension...? Maybe. Black project craft...no. In the story there was the speed with which this approached as well as the size and if I am not mistaken this happened in the 80's. Pretty much impossible in my opinion. Not impossible period. Planet-wise there are billions, trillions of them to chose from and they all aren't even named yet. So I am not going to venture a guess. It's anybody's guess but we can subtract one of them. It isn't from Earth. If I was so sure I'd have said absolutely 100% sure and not "near" 100%. Near 100% is not 100%.

Just to add extra on this thread, here's the interview David Hastings gave regarding this incident (Courtesy of ATS member easynow YT channel):

A very detailed description indeed

Z and elevenaugust,

Better late than never to reply, this just came to my attention.

Looking at this photo in pseudo 3-D mode [eyes crossing] suggests the object is quite a distance from the end of the wing. Obviously I can't say how far away nor how long the object is, I can only rely on Hasting's report of when the object flew over their plane.

I'd guesstimate the object to be 10s or 100s of meters off the wingtip.
