Hi IAMIAM, I really enjoyed your posts.

For more on S&M, polygamy, concubinage (essentially female sex slaves) and many other sexual issues in the Bible I recommend The Uncensored Bible: The bawdy and naughty bits of the Good Book by John Kaltner, Steven L. McKenzie and Joel Kilpatrick (Harper Collins: 2008).

Just some wider thoughts on the discussion:

Both Old Testament and Christianity were very patriarchal societies. In the Old Testament women could be sold and enslaved, and a man had a right to as many wives and concubines as he liked.
The real sin of a man lying with a man as with a woman was that he "lowered" another man to the position of a woman.
In Christianity women quickly lost whatever status they achieved under Jesus, and they were told to be in silence and not usurp authority over a man (1 Timothy 2:12).
But nowadays in societies not run on fundamentalist literalism, women's status is no longer that of a virtual slave or lust provoking temptress. Woman are no longer put in the dunking stool for being verbose, and since Queen Victoria they can also receive painkillers in childbirth (which was once seen as a violation of Genesis 3:16).
Heck they can even vote, and in some churches preach from the pulpit, get divorced and remarry, and girls no longer have to marry their rapist (Deut 22:28). None of these things were really commanded by Jesus, and came with changes in broader culture.
It is no accident that the gay liberation followed the women's liberation, and openly modern gay culture is really still in it's infancy.

A lot of this religious focus on homosexuality (which is ill defined as a sex act) really seems like a diversion - the last grasp at some form of "Biblical" purity.

And of course it doesn't take long before the "loving" religious platitudes turn into accusations that gays are largely into S&M, cruelly hunting people, and practice pedophilia. And that from religious institutions that are rife with masochistic motifs, and accusations of scandal and pedophilia.
It's really about creating the "other" to divert from something one wants to deny from oneself.
If I ever hear of somebody hunting people or practicing pedophilia in my gay scene, I will certainly turn them into the authorities.
I hope religious people do the same in their churches.

I just hope everybody also appreciates the rights they have today, and the Christian treatment of women at times made fundamentalist Islam seem positively enlightened.
Not that any of this would matter to the wider context of Michael Rood (from the OP clip), since to him most of Christianity is equally doomed along with the homosexuals, unless they join his Messianic teachings.
He doesn't speak much on gender, but the restrictions on ultra-orthodox religious Jewish women in Israel should give us some idea.
In that case we'd need a gender segregated ATS!

Well, they'd rather have a Rood than a Michelangelo or Da Vinci in their ranks, it seems.
Of course, fortunately they do not represent all Christians.

REally.. A kind loving god will kill just to prove a point, with no regard for that life.. A god that dose not value life is not a god I will ever follow.

Could a Christian please explain this to me: If God created everyone, why would he create gay people if he thought it was a sin? I don't want verses or scripture quoted, just a simple answer will suffice.

Whether or not you were referred to as a hypocrite (and grey580 named no names), I would like to see you answer all of those questions seeing as how you've set yourself up a some sort of crusader against homosexuality. Homosexuality is not the only thing railed against in the bible but your lot seemed to be fixated on it. It's all whooey. Homosexuals and Lesbians were created by ancient Romans as a means of protecting theirselves if an enemy should happen to make it past the interior elite guards. Their reasoning was who could kill such a wonderful little child.

So if god is judging humans then perhaps god needs judged.

If god created all and in order to create all one needs to first be created in order to create who created god? God could not have been able to create all without first being created. One cannot create without first being created.

So how was god created?

Many lives have been destroyed because of the assumption of god wanting to person to be this way or that way and it is time to put stop to the tyranny.
