I'm asking for proof.
Back in the late 1980s, the individual mandate wasn’t controversial at all–just another idea being kicked around in conservative think tanks. Although economist Mark V. Pauly, an adviser to the first Bush administration, is often cited as the mandate’s creator, conservative thinkers Stuart M. Butler and Edmund F. Haislmaier were dreaming up similar proposals at the Heritage Foundation as early as 1989.
I'm assuming you were using hyperbole.
Apologies.

So you dredge up a pla written in 1989 to counter?
And that's the best you can do?
You're new (or a sock) so some snark is to be expected.
But plese try something other than a 23 year old paper to counter Obama's destructive policies.
Or is this the best you can do?

Pointing out the HCR that people call Obama-care was first a Republican idea is Obamamania?
Better tell that to Mitt Romney because that makes him Obama's number one fanatic.
PRINCETON, NJ -- One year after President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law, Americans are divided on its passage, with 46% saying it was a good thing and 44% saying it was a bad thing. Most Americans are skeptical that the law will improve medical care in the U.S. or their own personal medical care.

You bring up a paper that somehow illustrates that the GOP is behind Obamacare.
First off, I'm not a republican, so I don't care.
Second, it does nothing to refute the claims that Obama has been detrimental to this country.
If anything, it illustrates the fact that either side is culpable and Obama has orchastrated a plan (regardless of origin) to take over 1/6th of this countries infrastructure.
Have anything else to contribute or do you wish to continue trying to derail in a vain attempt to protect your Obama?

Healthcare, like the auto industry, student loans, home mortgages are fair game to this administration.
It is a progressive meme to feel that they can run things better than private citizens or companies can.
Typical narrow-minded arrogance.
