Icke's assertions have changed very often and frequently over the years. At one point he says that we are all sons of god and at another he claims the whole idea of god is bunk. That we are god as much as anyone else.

He did have an interesting analogy for the universe we live in. Icke says that our universe is like a whirlpool in an infinite stream.

But anyway, good luck with your inititation, and make sure they don't put the noose...er tow, on too tight. Just messing with you.

Interesting character Mr. Icke. He was a proffesional Football player (soccer).

In fact he actually held a press conference soon after he gave up being a sports Presenter to announce he was in fact the Son of God. The new Messiah.

This he later recanted. But he is a clever fellow. he performs the old Elmer Gantry , Belly busting Preacher trick , of installing the fear of God into you, plus the fear of anything else he can hang a hat on. Lizard Man from Space, Bog Brother phobia.

Then he sells you a book to make you feel better. lIke I said a clever fellow. I am just about to add his books to my on line shop. There are plenty of gullable people out there.

My favourite ceremonies was my Third and initiation into The Holy Royal Arch (Chapter). The third is very different and Chapter was just a beautiful site to behold.

Glad you joined and as they say The King of the Craft, the Mystic Tie and I'm sure a worthy Mason is he.

This is a very different 'lucifuge' from the other thread ?? I am confused ? but that is normal with me.

We are oath-bound to not reveal ritual.

Earlier in this thread (before you were initiated) you posed a question to Sillinous. He had said that he'd had a friend who had been initiated before him, and that he could plainly see that the man had changed, for the better of course. Anyways, you asked him if after his initiation he understood why his friend had changed so much. Now I pose the same question to you. After your initiation, do you understand why his friend seemed so changed? Do you think you have changed significantly as a result?

I haven't even handed in my petition yet and I already get the butterflies when I think about it (in a good way).

3rd already? Wow... It took me about a year to get it. Congrats... I personally like the 3rd the best!

I don't want to venture too close to proselytizing here, but read the thread I created (initiation imminent), and you'll find some of my comments there.

Have I changed? Well, things have been different for me since my initiation. Hehe . . .wow. I can't explain, and I won't explain, either. ;-) It was a very personal experience, and it is meant to be one. I will tell you, that there was a moment in my initiation - lasted about 30-45 seconds, that was unforgettable, like time stood still.

I will not say more (I'm very picky, even about things that can be revealed - sorry.)

I'm already in the process of joining so I don't think proselytizing is something to worry about. Anyways I understand that you can't (or won't) say much about it, no problem, I was just wonderin more about the effect it had on you personally.

After my initiation perhaps we can compare notes heheh.

Effect on personality.

I think this can sum it up: I was NOT the same coming out as I was going in. All for the better, truly.

That's what I was getting at. I will understand much better in a couple of months, I'm sure. I've been told that the lodge doesn't do much if any degree work during the holiday season, on account of everyone's so busy with family and whatnot. I probably won't be initiated until after the first of the year. No matter, though, it will give me more time to get to know the guys.

Still getting those butterflies, though.

Any freshman in psychology can understand that Mr. Icke suffers from something refered to as hind-sight bias, after-the-fact reasoning, and other major flaws in critical thinking. I still wonder how can a man can trick so many other people into believeing nonsense!!

OH YEAH!!

good luck w/ the whole mason thing

It wasn't meant to be informative to anyone but fellow masons, who have walked the same path he has, and can therefore understand without the need of excessive verbiosity...

Masons usually never reveal ritual, as they make an oath not to...however, it can all be found on the internet if you do a search. There is a post in another thread, I forget which one, of a Lodge in the UK presenting videos of masonic lodge meetings, and what actually occurs inside. I'll try to find which thread that was.

It seems Freemasonry is really trying not to appear the "secret society" that many think it is.

Why do Masons have to meet you at your house before accepting you into thier organizatin? Couldn't they meet you at the local coffee house for breakfast or something. When they come should you put on the best can of chicken noodle soup you have in the house are is it strictly just a meeting? How long can one expect the meeting to last? What are some of the things discussed? Is that meeting a major make or breaking point in your future masonic career? Is it a lifetime commitment? Just curious.

The purpose of the meeting is an interview, which is informal. Usually, the committee who has been assigned to the petition visits the candidate, and they just talk. It gives the committee a chance to explain the Masonic process, and also gives the petitioner and his family the opportunity to ask questions.
It isn't mandatory that the meeting be held at the candidate's residence, although this is the usual practice. The things discussed usually center around the petitioner's desire to become a Mason, but the conversation could be about practically anything...i've been on several committees where we've talked about everything from Masonry to baseball.

Yes, the meeting is important because it is this committee that will either recommend that the petitioner be accepted, or present an unfavorable report. Only if the committee reports favorably does the petition actually go on the floor for a ballot. But this should not be intimidating; committees aren't out there just looking for some reason to disqualify a petitioner. Its more or less just an opportunity for the petitioner and committee to introduce themselves to each other.
