I saw the video and have to say this is typical human male behavior. I don't find it disturbing or entertaining.I will DEFINATELY NOT pass judgement on the Marines in question. I could not tell you whether I would have participated in the urination event or not if I found myself in the same situation as those Marines.

One last thought.... I'm sure that this is not the first episode of urinating on a dead foe in human history. I'm also sure these Marine didn't invent this act. I would venture to say that those dead men had no opinion on being urinated on one way or the other.

Perhaps we should bring these young men and all other Americans in harm way back home so they won't have to worry about whether they are going to be the ones urinating or being urinated on.

I sincerely hope you are not in the field of analysis. Dogs pee because, (1) they have to, (2) mark their territory, (3) landmark, (4) comfort zone/excitement. Those soldiers are being ceremonial/symbolistic.

After that, those soldiers come back to usa and become serial killers.
What? You think their values are not twisted? Yes, they are. Their values are completely twisted. The problem is not to say "hey calm down it's only dead people", but the problem is to ask what motivates those soldiers, what they have inside them to be wanting to do stuff like that. You tell me that they are mature and humane enough to piss "only" on dead corpses? Why are you so sure of that ?

Those soldiers wanted to humiliate, and before you say "you can't humiliate a corpse because it's dead", let me tell you that "humiliating" is at least a two persons game. At this stage, it makes no difference if they piss on dead or alive people, because what these soldiers feel inside them is the same..

Having served in the military and then working a high-stress job as a civilian I can honestly say that traumatic, high-stress jobs changes a person. Mostly, inappropriate behavior is due to an inability to express how stress effects people. War changes people, they do things they wouldn't normally do when they are subjected to a variety traumatic and horrific things. Don't blame the soldiers, blame the war mongering presidents and congressmen that sent them there.

This is probably no comparison to that sick video but I will give you a real short story.
My dad served the Canadian Navy during W2 and saw some action.
He was an AA (anti aircraft gunner) on a river class destroyer doing escorts from here to England.
The enemy subs they killed and the few planes they downed in action they always made a point of recovering whom they could.
The none survivors were buried at at sea with due respect, I remember dad telling me how sad it made him even when these guys were out to kill him.
One word says it all in my mind......Respect

Seriously though? Those guys were probably shooting at them 20 minutes prior to the urinating. Who's to know if those peed on corpse guys didn't blow up one of the unit's men days prior or that morning?

You cannot look at the urinating by itself. The men there are just that. They're men. They have emotions and see stuff you you are lucky to not have seen. You cannot stand high and mighty and declare what proper behavior is while they get shot at and you post on ATS.

Were I to be in another country shooting at the inhabitants, I would fully expect them to shoot back, place roadside bombs and booby traps, and generally make things miserable for me. I would do the same to any army invading the United States.

I am old enough to remember the pictures of them cutting off the testicles of the enemy, and placing them in the mouths of the enemy during Vietnam.
