Hi ATS.

Don´t even know where to start.
i´ve been an anti-military person all my life.
i just don't see the point.

but let me get to my point.
recently there was a thread on ATS about a dog being blown apart by soldiers.
it was disgusting footage.

well today i want to show you some other class acts.
this is really disgusting and i wonder what makes people do this?
by this, i mean this

what does make someone stoop this low?
i've had numerous discussions about this with a lot of people.

but i believe this is due to training.
mentally and physically breaking down a person.
start rebuilding them to your likings, a non thinking killing machine.

i know i will get flamed for saying this and i know not every soldiers is the same.
but i've had buddies go to war and they came back DIFFERENT.
i don't care what anybody says.

the training, the fighting and the horror that they endure changes a person.
not for the better though..

thoughts?

pissing on dead insurgents. george washington must be proud of the military he founded.

those soldiers are lost beyond hope if they don't see anything wrong with that.

they disgrace the memory of millions.

they should bury them. that's it. you're supposed to be a professional military. if you're human you should feel great apprehension at the thought of war.

to make my point about the training being the cause:

A former US soldier who served in Iraq has posted a series of three videos on YouTube called “Fun with Iraqi Detainees”. What they show doesn’t exactly match most people’s idea of fun.

Retired army specialist Ethan McCord, best known for his role in the infamous “collateral murder video” released by Wikileaks in April and now a vocal critic of the US military intervention in Iraq, posted the videos on YouTube on October 13th. He states that they were shot during his time as a member of the Bravo Company 2-16 in Iraq, in 2007. McCord explains that he started to “acquire” this kind of video “once [he] realised that what [they] were doing in Iraq is wrong”. Unsure of how to release them responsibly, he kept them to himself for over three years before posting them on the Internet.

Over and over again, the videos show the systematic humiliation of Iraqi prisoners in the hands of US soldiers. The abuse is never physical, but mental and emotional. “In my eyes, this is worse than simply striking a person” wrote McCord on michaelmoore.com. However, he stresses that public anger should not be directed towards the soldiers in the videos but towards “the system that trained them.

underlining is mine, wich stresses my point.

the videos that got released:

You're joking right?

In case you didn't notice it's THEIR country and those Marines are illegal invaders.

Not only did they murder those people, they pissed on them after. You are truly twisted if you try to find a way to justify these actions.

The word is incorrect as humiliate has to do with living emotions.
I do not agree with the actions of the men in the video, but you cannot humiliate the dead.

No, but I am not of the opposing force.
I guess that know one has any issue with warfare, say how the American Indians did it?
Or, say how some of the French worked it here in the states?
Or even how the Taliban themselves treat living US Military personnel.

And some still wonder why the entire World is not in love with the US.

You can't stand behind a flag, the constitution, bill of rights and a pledge to protect the helpless while pissing on corpses and blowing up innocent men, women, children and yes, even dogs.

These are true cowards that would piss themselves if they didn't have a uniform, gun and some equally screwed up buddies behind them. Get them alone and the tears will start flowing....

You never gain respect while being disrespectful.

Peace

Oh good hell, really?

Ok, given the idea that I would pull all US Military out of other countries, and let them kill each other and fend for themselves, we are there.
Don't really see the Afgan Govt doing anything to make the US Military leave.

But, that aside. Don't really care if I am deemed "twisted" or "sick".
Big deal.

What should be done to people that were just trying to kill them?

these people are not terrorists.

you are.

were are the officers in all this. there is a tremendous lack of leadership.

i can see dipsh-t recruits who have no life skills and joined the military because they have no future engaging in ignorant stupidity, but what about the officers.

who are supposed to be the best of the best.

what's worse, it's seems america's youth are born with out any moral code, conscience or emotions other than hysterical laughter.

That is operating under the whole "Winning Hearts and Minds"

Sorry, but the Military was created for and is there to kill people and blow stuff up.
Warfare is warfare.
This is not some childish notion of play nice, or try to understand the opposing forces feelings and so on.

If the US truly wanted to win wars now days, one only need to look back at how the Romans waged war.
Scorched Earth, Head on Pikes and so on.
That is warfare.

Sorry, but this, to me, is nothing.

Yeah yeah yeah, one mans terrorist and so on.
Bleh

One need not look to the Military fighting man for Politics. Only look to Washington and the people in charge. Need we go into detail about that?

Im guessing you also support the actions of say, home invaders who break into people houses and if the family living there resists, murders them and mutilates their corpses, because HEY, those damn bastards living there were trying to KILL the home invaders, right? Totally justified, yeah? I mean, the home invaders were totally under threat!

Same logic you are using.
