It would be if we take just peoples opinions without any factual basis for their claims something is not real. When it could be possible it is real.

Theres always the possiblity that he might have been "acting" getting mad. The fact that he responded angrily toward the interviewer, does not mean that this is genuine, it just means hes gotta script hes acted to.

Sorry. That simply isnt possible. You can't make something out of nothing. When it comes to video, if you were to "digitize it to 1080p" the result would be BLUR! You simply cant take a video, that at the time would have been shot at 320 x 240 and blow it up to 1080p and expect it to get clearer...just not going to happen.

His statement about 2012 would mean that the world's timeline ends in 2012. If it were the "year of his death" that wouldn't effect his ability to see past 2012. That would imply that the only reason he can see the future is because he actually will live it.

In this case, then, his death would mean nothing. If he were truly a psychic, he could see well past his death.

In his example, he was 10 in 1950, and was able to see the moon landing 19 years later. That means, at a minimum, he can see 19 years in the future.

So, if that be the case, in 1980, he could see to 1999. Right?

But he obviously goes further than that.

Also, I find it ironic that he is accurate, without being specific, on everything he states. How about some inaccuracies? in 1980, we were in a very high state of the cold war. Everyone was thinking, talking, and worried about the USSR pushing the button. Not one mention of Nuclear war, which was the subject of the day. Not a word.

So how is it that everything he predicts is close, yet, he has not one that is so far out of line to make this video more realistic?

It was scripted.

Also in the late 40's and 50's, Buck Rogers and other sci-fi movies were being made about man going to the moon. So, nothing shocking there.

I think the dead give away is the clock, as one other poster pointed out. In 1980, clocks were very important. There were no VHS (not many, and people today still cant set them correctly) or DVD players or Cable boxes or iPhones etc to constantly show the time. I would find it hard to believe that a person back then would have on display a clock that didnt work. It would be as annoying to us in 1980 as was a blinking VHS clock was in the mid to late 80's, as it is today to not have a device that functioned with a clock at our immediate disposal and view.

Another poster said that the quality of the tape would make a difference. Yes, but, not that much. The quality of the tape could help the tape keep the video longer and better. Though, I doubt that if this video were shot in 1980 that it was to VHS to begin with, and even TV broadcast quality back then was NOT anywhere NEAR the quality of this particular video.

This vid was shot digitally, at 720 x 480. One poster mentioned that it could have had the subitles added with modern equipment. While that is true, it does not explain the fact that the video is of higher resolution than what was available in 1980.

Yes it does*look worse*, and I have a well calibrated IPS monitor. It looks over saturated and the background is flickering. (In my opinion)

I don't think the op was asking if the video was a hoax or not. I think he wanted discussion on the predictions and what people thought.

If this was something world shattering I could see people keep posting the same fact based opinions. Since it is not why would you want to waste time after you state your opinions when there is so much more on the site?

Aha, I was typing while you posted that above me, thank you sir, thought it was very nice footage for early 80's.

A lot of other things have already been pointed out but to me there is exactly ONE dead giveaway.

It is the tracking distortion that was added at the bottom.You do not even have to look closely to notice that the tracking distortion remains perfectly within the set boundry of the narrow rectangle preset at the bottom of the screen.

Its one of those things we never really tend to pay attention to but when you do and observe this in a verified authentic recording you will notice that the tracking offset distorts and most prominently bends the image well beyond that little narrow band we see in the OP's video.

This tracking band can occur either on the bottom or top of the screen and in some old videos you can even see this tracking distortion bend the foreheads of people in interviews while the more narrow tracking band with the most noise remains at the top (or bottom) of the screen.


In the video in question this tracking band is indeed there but never and not once ! ..does it distort anything beyond the small band itself.

Anyone familiar enough with analoge recordings will know instantly what i am talking about i am sure.


As for the video in general,
The production is well thought over as a whole but it just does not convince (unless maybe if you have never been that exposed to aged analoge tape recordings).The wig is a bit too obvious but the whole manerism of the man in the video does not quite gel as does the set.There is also obvious forced acting and his eyes,while speaking lie.He is acting,

No it did not feel like a 80s recording to me ,at all.I actually caught myself giggeling at it while watching it after reading most comments in the thread.

Video from that time was 720 x 576 for PAL. What i and some here are saying is that good quality video from late 70s early 80s era was better than most remember IF it was right from broadcast. If someone digitized this from master tapes then what you are seeing could very well be 1980 video. IMHO.

Here is my issue:

The old stuff looks...old. Which if it was for its time period would still look relatively new. The objects around in the video look like they have had several years of aging.

For example:

The Carousell box and the LP vinyls behind him looke like they all have pretty frayed or tattered/aged edges to them.

The chair he is sitting on shows signs of age as well with inconsistent layes of what appears to be paint, some of it chipped or worn off.

However the paino looks pretty pristine and in very good condition. Which is what you would expect most all other objects of that time period to look like if they indeed were in that time period.

also to add he starts counting with his thumb in a very distinct way that I have only seen one other person do....David Greer...I have met VERY FEW people in my life who start counting with their thumb.

I have an attention to detail when it comes to mannerisms and I rarely see that from anyone. It just stuck out to me...you know...like a sore thumb... sorry I had to.

Anyway moving on

I don't think this is legit the predictions are too dead on and they are "off" just enough that it gives it that authentic feeling. He nailed Chernobyl, 9-11, Obama, to a degree that is just too....questionable to be real. The electric car is really the only "miss".

After he nailed Obama I immediately thought of how easy it would be to hoax this.

its really not that clear guys what are you all talking about? click 1080 watch full screen. If this was from the source foutage thats exactly what it would probably look like. It only appears clear because its not a copy of a copy of a copy which is most of what is re-watched by everyone.

I also find this new user we seemed to have gained since yesterday quit interesting.He has been very obviously pushing and suggesting that the video in question is real and up until this very moment,at this time of writing he has not posted in any other thread then this one.

Note that the video on youtube was also the only video uploaded on that youtube acount.
