this is very obviously fake and I think it'd be a waste of time to detail why. Im sure a post before me has definitively done it. If not ask me and ill list 5 indisputable reasons. Remember folks, believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see.

I don`t buy it. He`s saying he was 10 years old in 1950, so he was 40 when he made this video.....does he looks like a 40 year old guy to you ? .....besides he`s clearly acting and there is no proof at all this video was made in 1980.

No one was talking about 2012 back in the 80's. we may have been speculating about what the year 2000 may bring and we were wondering if 2001 would be like the movie. I was in my 20's in the 80's so I remember much about the time frame.
The relationship between Russia and the US was actually getting pretty cozy. We were introduced to a new Russian word back then. Datant. ( I am sure that is not spelled correctly but....) It meant to trust but with verification. The releationship between Ronald Regan and Gorbechev was pretty strong and so seeing the collapse of the soviet union was probably not too far of a stretch.

Anyone of us that lived during the time this video was purported to have been filmed will know something is just not quite right.

I call fake as sheet.

There is visible aged video and audio distortion in the clip you provided. The so-called video from the 80s looks like it was just taken with the technology.

You can see the subtle differences. Even in the layout.

The curtain behind the man compresses differently than the video you showed.

The man's suit, and the furniture, look like they have literally aged from the 80s to modern day.

The people in your video clothes behave differently, as they are brand new.

The man's genes in the OP video

The records are aged, as if they are older than they should be.

The grain of the wood in the piano is strange. Should be different. This is just opinion.

On top of the album/book shelf to his left, next to the grey case thing . .. is that a CD? When did CD's come out??

Sorry if someone else pointed that out already . .

The quality does look too "Now" as opposed to 1980 IMO

Peace

Besides; don't worry what will happen. Concentrate on yourself this year, let go of your fears, forgive yourself and your family, stop asking 'why me?' and start asking 'why NOT me?'. Love yourself and love others. Be at service to others, and let the plan unfold

No despite the archaic decor in the background. (Gotta love the slide carosel on the book shelf. ) the video looks to fresh, too sharp, too colorful, to have been recorded 30 years ago. The original would have to be 8 MM or VHS. Is there a way to tell from the video what the original format for it was?

I have to disagree. The original could be 16mm professional, which would certainly look that good. The subtitles, added later possibly when converted to digital. I have done training films working for DEC in the early 80's, and they looked this good. I am still not convinced it is not a hoax, but as far as decor, dress, and quality, this certainly could be a 1980 production.

Probably to laugh at the "believers" in this thread who claim it's real no matter what just because they like the story, as usual they'll believe literally anything as long as it fits in with their personal world view/beliefs. I mean just look at the youtube uploader, he joined youtube the same day he posted the video and hasn't posted any other videos, then of course he doesn't know the name of the claimed psychic nor provide a source... That screams hoax right from the start. I'm sure they're having a good laugh right now.

So, apologies if anyone already mentioned this . . .
It's supposedly 1980. He moved "here to Californina" 20 years ago, so 1960. He flat out claims he's currently in California, so why is he doing an interview in French? Didn't know many folks in Cali were fluent in French. If he had lived in Californina for 20 YEARS he would have learned at least SOME English. Even if he wasn't trying to learn, after 20 years he would have inevitably picked up quite a bit. How does this dude flourish, work, dine, drive, etc. in California for 20 years and not know a lick of English.
Maybe the video is real, maybe it's not. I just think that after 20 years of Cali living he'd be able to speak enough English for his interview to be in English.

It is a marketing competition for students to get their work as much exposure as possible.

the email at the end is [email protected]

the website is hm2012.ca

The website is in French because it is from the French speaking part of canada (hence the .ca)

CA is also the area code for california where this supposed Frenchman has lived for 20 years - it is also the 20th anniversary of the marketing competition.

He talks about 2012, it is the key focus of the video and the only bit that is still in the future - the competition, and hence website is HM2012.

The interview is in French because they speak French, the story is contrived to fit around that, by trying to squeeze the 20 years in CA into the story it has screwed up the timeline of the story, etc, etc, etc

Just as a visual reference, here is a genuine French interview filmed in 1980 and posted to YouTube:

Note that the presenter has a hand mic on a stand on the desk in front of him, and that no attempt was made to hide the body mic on Bowie. This was very typical of French television of the time. Also note the general picture quality.

I think they'll be too busy having their sides stitched back together to pick up the award.

Honestly, the mind boggles at the gullibility of some people.
