Photo: Giant Rat Found Inside Of A Foot Locker In The Bronx

gothamist.com

Yesterday someone Tweeted this photo of a giant monster rat, supposedly discovered at a Foot Locker in the Bronx. You might recognize this guy, as he bears a striking resemblance to the 3-foot-long beast that was stabbed with a pitchfork in Brooklyn last year. That one was believed to be a Gambian pouched rat, and may have been someone's escaped pet. However, it wasn't the first one spotted in that area, and locals believed they were multiplying faster than Gremlins taking a bath.

Maybe take a few of those burmese pythons from Florida and set them loose in the sewers of NYC?

Giant rats vs. giant snakes. who will win?

Thats how big many of the rats are here in Sydney city - some even slightly bigger and they come out at night mostly.

In Indonesia I think they found an even bigger one.

I think theres a bit of a a perspective trick going on here. The body is about as long as the edge of the shovel , how wide is a standard shovel?

It is big , but not 3 foot big.

Yes, it was carried by fleas.

ETA Let's not give the rats an unnecessarily bad name.

Going by that logic though, shouldn't we also kill every person that gets diagnosed with HIV? I mean you never know what these people are thinking, they could snap and just go on an infecting spree

rats have been known to bite the elderly and babies [they are attracted by human effluvia]
when i was a kid there was a case in PR where a
neglected baby with a soiled diaper had its genitals eaten by rats

still think they're cute?
