OP: I think you underestimate the American Spirit...

Do you really think you are free because you have guns? You are already in jail, the societies we live in are big outdoor jails, and the kind of weapons they use are note made of steel and wood, but made of ideas and indoctrination. I live in western europe and we don't have guns like you do, but i can tell you that we are as free as you, and it means not much.

The state doesn't need to know what you have.

Most states don't register and private sales are almost always just that, private.

Plus theirs always the ever reliable "boating accident" excuse.

Keep a couple of token guns to turn in and hide the rest in the walls and rafters.

Yours right we have much to lose. Not our stuff but certainly our lives. Having us get killed or locked up here and there is no good. Until some unified resistance in significant numbers can be established a certain amount of concessions will have to be made lest we all die alone or get tossed into a cage.

The taking of weapons will be the line in the sand being crossed. Alot of people i know where i live are at the point of armed revolution and it would take several SWAT teams to rival the firepower that could be unleashed and these guys are NOT the only ones.

I for one wish there were alot less of these shiny little toys, no one seems to want to have a conversation anymore, you get these ppl behind the screens communicating and everyone thinks they are some grand, deep, thinker that has some profound knowledge to spread around the world because no one will call them out on their BS.

What I understand the point of the thread to be is that the Constitution is already being violated, just so far not the 2nd Amendment, and it's only registering a small blip on the pulse of America. This thread is the perfect example of that small blip.

I don't know how successful we can be of getting the corrupt elected officials out when we're not actively discussing the current violations nationwide. Some are in denial of these facts and worse, the people who are raising awareness are being scorned. Then we have to deal with the fact that our current set of rules allow for people with the most money to buy control of our so called government. We are in crisis and too few seem to even be aware of it.

I don't own any guns.

As per your theory, why try to vote out any elected officials if we can't get them all, or if more are around the corner. Why would someone do such a thing...cause they have hope. Hope and irrational behavior are not the same thing. I don't understand what gets accomplished through some jihad-like event in which one man kills a couple of people, most likely losing his own life in the process, to defy his government. Like I said, don't fight fire with fire. Killing the agents sent to strip you of your weapons accomplishes nothing for your cause. In theory it would only force the enemy to devote more resources to removing your guns, and removing you as well.

The only real way to fight this would be through the democratic process, though I doubt that would accomplish anything. I've put much thought into what actions could be taken to set this country back on track and restore its greatness, and I haven't been able to come up with many practical resolves. Revolution is useless, our current democratic system is proving itself useless, a military coup is useless; there really is no easy fix, so forgive me for coming up short on hope when facing our current political climate.

Just give up your guns. Losing them might stop kids going to schools and killing loads of others just because they don't like Monday's.

Someone is ill informed. If the US Gov. started to round up guns at try to take them away, well, as the saying goes, they would have to pry them from my cold dead hands. I will die for the right to bare arms, as will many many MANY other Americans. It is this right that keeps the power ultimately in the peoples hands.

I think the whole idea is too simplistic.

The idea being that armed forces are going to roll down into your cul-de-sac and demand everyone's guns and ammo is so very 'Red Dawn.'

The government will never do that.
