I wouldnt get too excited yet..his son might be even more of a nutjub, and considering his age...he might just try something

Right... see I'm not excited for an advancement for the NK people... just that the guy is dead...

Why are people pouring into the streets weeping? Give me a break! The warped cult of personality lives on and on and on.What they should have been pouring out into the streets about, long before he died,is the fact that their backstabbing, cruel and heartless psycho leader funneled untold numbers of innocent people into forced labor and death camps, but if they had expressed their dissatisfaction over those, they would have been thrown into the camps as well...

The sheeple are brainwashed and blinded and led astray...What else is new?...Nothing...

This so called "great successor" son of his,was he called "great" before his daddy died?,i doubt it and i dont like the look in his sons eyes either, hes got a bad additude with something to prove and this isnt a good thing to happen on the eve of 2012,are you ready for world war three?...

people are emaciated to extremes in north korea and this 20 something year old kid has a double chin. that's pathetic...

either this kid's gonna be worse to try to show how ruthless he is or he might wake up to the 21st century and free his people.

his picture looks like a huge rub in the face for ordinary North Koreans.

the seven deadly sins - Gluttony comes to mind !
While the rest of the country starves to death, he looks like he has had a few banquets in his time !

The #1 icon of socialism and atheism has died. This guy represented everything the left stands for: Deification of Humans, replacement of Capitalism with State-Planning, removal of all Religion from the public, replacement of merit with total equality, seeing Government as a parent. I assume Chavez while now take his place as the prime left-wing idol.

Any change in North Korea is a good thing.

Here is to hoping Lil Kim's son is not a tyrant, and will change the dead end dirrection of North Korea.
With most of it's population starving, I can only hope.

Perhaps he will surprise everyone and be the exact opposite of his dad.

As to all of the people in NK who are crying on camera, I am willing to bet if they did not show such emotion, they would be put to death.....

Only time will tell what happens with North Korea, I hope it is a good change.

My post was not a matter of opinion, but compasion. We are talking about the death of a human being. It is not something to ridicule or laugh at... if you feel that a death of another human is "satisfying" i can only hope you feel the same towards your own life and others that you love. Would it be worth making jokes and celebrating their deaths over a heart attack?

It may seem ok to say "his people suffered"... but really, did they? When compared to nations such as the hypcritical US... we can clearly see that the governing power over there is obviously not any different.

There are millions of americans who go by without hardly any food or pay every single day, many of which struggle to find shelter. For the sake of making a point, it seems the fact that North-Korea's citizens are 'suffering' is the only basis for Jong-Il being some kind of evil dictator.

Its not unexpected that Fox, CNN and the usual bunch would be airing headlines such as:
DICTATOR DEAD

However, if Obama or Bush suddenly had a heart attack would the same headline be used? All i can tell you is that it should be.

First off you are forgetting that North Korea is a communist nation. Many aspects of this can be a good thing... obviously some will suffer... but the same can be said for the west's capitalistic view of the world, in which i honestly think more people tend to suffer as a result. As i'm trying to point out, the fact that Jong-Il was the leader of a communist nation, this is what is making him an quote: "EVIL DICTATOR"? On that basis alone... would it not be right to incite death to your own leaders for waging wars and actually murdering people in blind sight?

Besides, a human being is a human being. You do not direspect the dead. Doesn't matter who they are, but if you really wished them dead... you keep it to yourself.

I understand you completely, and I agree with you.

Not only did I never believe the hokey dokey 'Osama Bin Laden' is the face of EVIL, but I also never fell the lies we have spoon fed about Saddam, Ghadaffi, and now the late North Korean leader.

I got sick when I red similar comments about the brutal murder of Ghaddaffi....people here were cheering and we elated at another human being's demise.....

A human is a human.

Excuse me, but the far right has no problem with slave labor, child labor, destruction of the environment, political subterfuge and false wars for profit. Their whole ideology fits right in with funneling money to an elite class at the expense of everyone else. There is very little difference between the despotism created by the far right and the far left.

I agree that alot of what we hear is misleading however the sactions that the US has imposed on NK are facts, the country has no choice but to attempt to self sustain, the international community has made this so.

There is a real good documentry floating around with a Brit and swiss reporter that spent a few weeks in NK there footage shows the facts, ill try to find it and link it here.

I dont think anyone can argue that alittle aid for this deprived country would be a good thing, the new leader, who will most likely be his son is in a position to make a real difference. Hell if he played his cards right he could be a noble peace prize winner and on the cover of time magazine
.

The logical end of a true meritocracy is the deification of humans. After all, you are valuing one person more than the other. This leads to the elevation in esteem of some people, and puts people eventually on even footing with God. Look at US society and the people we revere for all the evidence of that you need. While you may not fall into that trap personally, to say that we don't have both a meritocracy of sorts and human deities is kind of ridiculous.

Only difference is N.Korea caused the deification of one human. Our system created dozens.

So, tell me how we can increase both the idea of meritocracy and western religion in our system of government. Clearly, that's what you would like to see happen. How exactly does "I deserve more earthly wealth because I have more merit." reconcile with "we are all God's creatures?"

You know how I know you listen to Creflo Dollar? Make sure you buy his next book, 'cause then you'll understand God better and He will want you to have more cash. 'Cause you're better and all. Then you can give more to Creflo. Maybe someday you can go create some jobs and let that divine wealth trickle down!

Little Kim has been on death's door for a while now.

It's a waste of time to hurl insults after this man -- he just doesn't have that much impact on my life. The only question is; will his regime crumble, or did he set his son up to be the "god king" in his place?

I won't be surprised if the CIA doesn't prop up Kim's son. Why? Because every time Japan wants to get rid of a US military base, or has an anti nuclear rally, like clockwork, Kim's military would "test" a rocket over their waters.

America seems to more to keep it's enemies than it's friends.

Its a sad day indeed....for the brain washed people of NK. Have you seen the news videos?? People in the street apoplectic with grief? It makes me sad to see people forced to behave this way. At least I hope they are acting!!

So then, we invaded Iraq with the help of the coalition because Sadam might have WDMs.... And we haven't conquered North Korea because they do have WMDs. It's a sad sad world we live in.

New "Dear Leader" Kim, make a mistake.....give us all an irrefutable excuse to wipe your sorry ass off the planet.

My heart goes out to all the victims of Lonley Kim, and the future victims of Little Kim.

Finally. No question it's joy-day... Someone should take care of him very long ago. Like Team America! Why not? I would say just bravo! But no, US need to stick their dirty fat fingers into Iraq and Libya. NK people live in true hell. They have to cry tears of joy right now and pretend it's sadness. I can't imagine. Well and fear his damn seed. He looks like some evil pig. Father had to have a reason to choose him. An evil reason of course.
Kim Jong-il - this mother*****r will remain a memorial of NATO hypocrisy.(not only nato)
Take his picture, put it into a pipe and smoke it tonight and have a party.
However one part of me understand their way of anti-imperialism, relations in region, history etc. It's grey not black. As usual.

Good news anyway

Ok, I've seen the video. Like after Stalin's death. Mass histeria with gregarious animal characteristic. It's normal. However I could swear some of them are laughing. No tears, just smile. Some talented actors to see there

Utter rubbish, and Kim Jong-il was nothing like Chavez. Infact I'd rather choose Chavez as the ruler of my country than Kim Jong-il.

Just throwing this out there but maybe YOU are the one who's been blinded and led astray. You say yourself that the people who lived under his regime were mourning his loss. He couldnt have been that bad then.

YOU do not live in North Korea. Everything YOU know about North Korea comes from Jon Stewart, ATS, Fox, News and MSNBC. The media is on the side of American corporations and American economic interests to which Kim Jong Il was a pain in the ass.

Just sayin.

He wasn't a saint and I'm not trying to say he was. But if people are crying for him in the street then he couldnt have been THAT bad either. The truth is always somewhere in between.
