I don't see any mention of Russian military anywhere near the UK in that page on Sky, and I've been watching Sky news and BBC all day while I work.

I have a feeling someone is having a little fantasy - and we're all invited

Read the article carefully...it said they were in INTERNATIONAL waters 13miles of Fife. Heading to Syria.

Well exaggerated thread :p

May explain the more than normal aircraft activity over York in the past two days.

If I was on those Russian ships I would be more concerned about the weather right now rather than Syria, US, UK or any country. The shipping lanes around the UK have claimed many lives in the past and seen of many invasions - and we are in for a storm

Okay the reason nothing is in the news is because AMERICAN interests through the manipulation of TV and media are now ISRAELI interests. We are told what they want us to be told and if we don't hear what we want to hear we go scowering the internet for some sign of hope that we can get out of this blundering mess we call a civil society.

I'm certain the good people of Scotland would not be influenced by the Israeli control of our media. If we had scrambled anything to deal with an incursion by Russia we would know about it.

This place, seriously!

I find this board funny too. "BREAKING NEWS, aliens say they like beiber".

Ahwell, I'm not worried about the Russian fleet, our RAF would have a field day, it's this bloody government I worry about.

it's not the people that are influenced, it's the people who own the companies that own the companies that own the Scottish media that you should be concerned with.

news.sky.com...

Scotland is a long way from Syria....

Whatever their true intentions are, I think its worth noting that, Im not sure where that ship came from.. But if it was from Northern Russia it would have to past Scotland to get to Syria..
To avoid Scotland it would have to take a massive diversion..

Yes, but it's been exagerrated like most news is on this site. Basically they weren't in British waters but international and were in the way to Syria to say hello to our American friends.

you could swim the difference between british waters and international waters, its only 1600 meters! But russian warships near UK waters is not my concern really, its more the fact that russia is very much keeping to its word on deployment and threats of attack.

iran/syria/israel etc in my opinion are mere pawns on the chess board, as with any chess game the real players are Russia,China, US,UK,EU.

p.s who doesnt use eye catching titles, its not misleading, there has been an emergency scramble by RN, russia is off the coast of scotland and russia is on route to syria.

Well, as there is no source for the scrambling of our forces in response to this, I'm assuming this was all embellishment and Russia is just doing what our military intelligence would already expect and traveling through international waters on their way to visit their friends in Syria.

People should know that the UK had a long-standing agreement with Russia that they could in fact use our air-space. This was the case throughout the 1990's as I recall. While we took precautions and shut installations down when they were flying overhead, it was never a big deal.

No one is in a state of readiness for war, there is no reason to be. While our government and military will be watching ANY military movement, especially near the UK, a Russian carrier passing on a widely publicized trip is not something any government would "scramble" over.
edit on 13-12-2011 by detachedindividual because: (no reason given)

We've all heard thigs like this before and it turned out to be nothing.

(Joke) Maybe we should just sink the darned thing before it arrives.

Your average Russian carrier really isn't a threat...unless you count nukes.

i dont think this is a false flag really, not in the context of a false flag/black flag. its hard evidence that the stage is being set, the actors are arriving, props in place, lights dim and the curtains are about to open!

Didn't say the title was misleading but the thread was a tad bit exaggerated. I agree about the murdering Israeli government, scummy Syrian government and the slightly crazy Iranian government being mere pawns.

I sincerely hope cameron spends more money of the military as the next 10years shall be very interesting.

U.S. Troops surround syria.
rt.com...

If we do go through with this, I am curious to find out of Syria and Russia will declare this an act of war.

Ahh the eve of war possibly. Anyone who says we are not living in important times clearly fails to grasp the unique importance of the position we are in as a worldwide society.

Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, formerly a translator with the FBI, wrote over the weekend that American soldiers are among the NATO troops that have mysteriously and suddenly landed on the Jordanian and Syrian border. According to her, several sources internationally have confirmed the news, although the US media has been instructed to temporarily censor itself from reporting the news.
Additionally, Edmonds says that American and NATO forces are training Turkish troops as well, to possibly launch a strike from the north of Syria.
Edmonds writes that an Iraqi journalist based out of London has confirmed that US forces that vacated the Ain al-Assad Air Base in Iraq last week did in fact leave the country as part of President Obama’s drawdown of troops, but rather than return home, the soldiers were transferred into Jordan during the late hours of Thursday evening. Another source, writes Edmonds, informs her that “soldiers who speak languages other than Arabic” have been moving through Jordan mere miles from the country’s border with Syria. Troops believed to be NATO/American-affiliated have been spotted between the King Hussein Air Base in al-Mafraq and the Jordanian village of Albaej and its vicinity.
