Which cop is that???

OH RIGHT...there is no evidence of anything happening yet...so how about you wait to get the facts before you lock up a random "cop".

What a *FOOL* this woman is. Yes, I'm placing 100% of the blame squarely on her shoulders. I have no sympathy for this idiot. Sure, you can think I'm an evil, heartless person... but it doesn't change the fact that if this *FOOL* had exercised an ounce of common sense and not placed herself and her baby in jeopardy for the sake of being part of something as ridiculous as a protest, then she'd have been in no danger. Oh, but I'm sure some will admire her for being there, because hey, it's out of concern for the opportunities for her unborn child that she's there, right? The girl is a fool.

BEST POST EVER! PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WIN!

The sad thing is that you think it's murder to have an abortion, but that it's justified for a cop to kick pregnant women in the stomach and kill her unborn baby.

You should ashamed of yourself, OKS.

What? Are you serious? One is by choice. The other isn't.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat this, your logic sucks. It's like you trying to compare rape and consensual sex as equals and calling both sex.

Oops... My bad, this post should be directed towards OKS.

Woman walks into clinic and has her child murdered because she doesnt want it? Womans Rights. Police beat pregnant woman causing her to lose that very same child? Murder. This makes sense.

Are these cops suppose to be mind readers??? Was it even obvious that she was pregnant??? Was she carrying a sign that identified herself as being pregnant???

Did any of these people drag any toddlers or infants to these protests??? Why do you suppose they didn't???
Is it because they knew the dangers involved???

There is absolutely no excuse for these cops to be using pepper spray, rubber bullets, flash bangs or any other weapon on peaceful peoples gathering to protest in the united states of america. It is not only our right to protest our government but our duty. I dont care if the woman was pregnant or not. Cops should not be running around beating or kicking unarmed people.

Well... about all I can say to that is... if you don't want to get hurt. Go home.

And all I can say to this is we should be hiring cops that know the laws they are supposed to enforce and that includes the constitution and the oath they took to this country. I cannot and will not defend the actions of thugs and traitors on power trips.

In the USA one should NOT be afraid of violent repercussions when applying their amendment rights. If they are, the USA is truly dead.

In saying that it was unwise with her being there because of the danger involved leads me to believe the US Government has already won.

Those officers can sleep soundly knowing that their addiction to causing others pain has caused the death of a baby. A child. Live with it.

I asked this once before... and I'll ask it again. How many of these protesters dragged their infants/toddlers along to the protest. If not... why do you suppose they didn't???

Just want to say that I've lived in Seattle my whole life an I have seen time and time and time and time and time again the SPD using brutal force for no reason. Cops here always seem to be in the news over controversial beatings. There have been multiple accounts in the last few years of SPD killing homeless people who they claimed to believe have a knife or gun but turned out to just be unarmed homeless people.

I have a seven month old baby myself and I can say that while I was pregnant there is not a chance in the world that I would have been at a potentially violent protest, HOWEVER- that's her right and her choice and regardless of her reasoning or sensibility, she WAS acting within her rights and the police should single out those committing actual crimes or putting others in danger and punish them accordingly one at a time. There is no 'guilty by association' that gives cops the right to spray/beat/whatever random people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time unless THEY SPECIFICALLY did something to breach their rights and force is necessary to detain that specific person.

Back to my original point, I realize this is a generalization and there are always exceptions but the truth is that Seattle has dirty cops. The SPD is notoriously crooked and I have zero doubt that this situation is no exception.

Also, think about it. Think about what a true travesty it is that we have to say that it's a woman's fault, she should have known better, she should have known that her safety would be put in danger by exercising her legal rights.

Yeah, maybe she should have known better.
But how sad is it that it's gotten to the point where it's so easy for Americans to say she should have known better, should have known that she was likely to miscarry her child via police brutality by exercising her legal rights?

What a crappy situation and a crappy society and a crappy paradox of a world. Crappy that it's "logical" to defend the cops and blame the woman because she should have known that she didn't have a right to her rights.

Sorry for the negativity but it just really sucks.

I do NOT think that saying "Well she knew what she was getting herself into" is any excuse at all for what happened!

PEOPLE!

We should be able to protest, and voice our displeasure for the corporate, banker owned federal Government, without fear of being beaten to a pulp by these revenue collectors aka the police.

I feel terribly for this poor young girl.

And there better be some form of punishment handed down to these pigs.

It just never ceases to amaze me at how naive people actually are. You KNOW the risks. Look what happened in the 60s to all the "peaceful" black protesters. What makes this situation any different??? You people are delusional. I've seen people get bayonets shoved up their rectums at peaceful protests. Nothing has changed... and it never will.

This has NOTHING to do with abortion!

Just because someone can go have their unborn child "put down" doesn't make this any more right!
SHE didn't want her baby aborted, she didn't ask for this! And if you think she did by going down to peacefully protest you are mistaken, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROTEST WITHOUT BEING BEATEN.

Go to freakin russia you socialists.

Shame on ALL of you.

So its not murder if the mother doesnt want the child? So the child isnt alive if the mother doesnt want it but its a person if someone else kills it. Nice logic.

Yes because in America we should expect to get our teeth kicked in when we protest our Government. Personal responsiblity is showing your chin to the thug cop as he beats your face in for having an oppinion. It couldnt possibly be that this woman went down to these protests because she was concerned for the future of the child she was carrying. Nope. She should have known that on the streets of the United States we have no rights.

You're missing the point. The mother didn't go to a peaceful protest to abort her baby. Or did she???

There's a difference between free and government sponsored. generally countries with universal healthcare and government sponsored/funded (okay i'll use it, free) have better standards of living......such as Norway and Finland....
