The videos showing "police brutality" at the OWS events made me crack up.
A guy getting arrested = brutality
A woman getting arrested = brutality?
I couldn't even watch the 3rd one because the point you are trying to make is just nonsense.

Compare protestors getting shot with live ammunition to a guy getting ziptied and arrested... yeah...

Its only a matter of time before people are shot at the rate things are moving...

As for the two videos, the first a man is bleeding out onto the concrete and the next is of a women being kicked and beat while on the floor..

They could have easily zip-tied them but instead chose to use further force than necessary, these are but a few of many similar cases of excessive force when they could easily be arrested but instead violence is used. The sad thing is this is becoming all too common. If they failed to follow police orders then arrest them but the use of violence as a tool to put fear and submission into the people is a totalitarian tactic that is becoming the norm in our so called "free" country.

I am sure your idea of a brutality is much more extreme ala 1984 so famously put "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face ..for ever" but we are seeing the beginning stages of that system being born today, the question is whose side are you on?

blood on the ground is blood on the ground weather its from bullets or batons it all came from police using excessive force on unarmed civilians who were protesting - not doing harming anyone or breaking any laws other than disobeying a police officers illegal orders.

you want some more violence just do a youtube search there are plenty.
there have been many people hospitalized for severe injuries old women, veterans, and young kids. but they must all have deserved it right.

Everything will be OK if the OWS folks just go home and wash up and get to making some money. Also, Neil Young then can write some more songs for all. Then OWS folks can buy Neil's new CD if they get jobs.

Thousands of those people were public school teachers or civil servants who were laid off because of budget cuts. Many are war veterans. I am getting tired of people describing OWSers as people who simply don't want to look for a job. Unemployment is extremely high and it can be very difficult for someone who has been killing in Iraq for several years to adjust to a civilian job. Politics aside, those vets walked willingly into a kill or be killed situation on a daily basis to defend YOUR way of life, and now when they are down and out you tell them to wash up and get a job? Whats wrong with you? You have no clue what happened to those people that led to them being who they are and doing what they are doing. Think about spending more time considering other people with empathy, and less time talking about what other people aught to do.

follow the money

A man bleeding is by no means evidence of police using to much force. We do not see what happened at the beginning of the video so there is no way of telling what happened.

I'm not on anyones side but my own. I will give credit when it is due and agree when I see facts to back it up. This is once again a video posted on youtube claiming 'police brutality' that shows no such thing. Common sense tells me that the cop COULD HAVE used excessive force but then again the man being arrested COULD HAVE resisted and that was a result of his actions.

ATS is being flooded with these types of videos as of late and it's getting old.

Vietnam protesters were out in the millions for a good cause. Ending the war.
OWS protesters are out in the thousands. Ignores the wars and demand Handouts.

Kent State Army National Guards used real Bullets.

OWS get pelted with Rubber bullets from Cops.

I'm sorry, no comparison.

Massive S & F fest for a FAIL

Go figure.

Anything asking for change that doesn't involve selling yourself to a delapidated system is a good thing.

I'm pretty sure that wars and corporate entities go hand in hand? If I am wrong, let me know.

Rubber bullets hurt. Like a mo.

Moreso, these times are holding much more sway as to the shaping of our near future, if you really want to compare the two eras.

While I agree you cannot tell if he resisted arrest, how many videos like this will keep surfacing? Someone usually films once things begin to take a turn for the worse very few are already filming beginning to end. The question is if videos like this keep surfacing one has to question if they are all random incidents of if the police are using excessive force.

If kid goes to school everyday but when a test arrives he is always sick then the truth begins to become self evident. Surely you cant say for 100% sure he wasn't sick every test day but one must begin to question his story.

I believe we can say sure some of these probably were people getting out of line but the more and more videos that come up that might say otherwise surely one must begin to review and question what is occurring. But that is my 2cents and likewise you are entitled to yours.

I will use that same arguement to boost my theory.
When every single arrest is 'police brutality' I begin to question whether it's actually the case or a group of protestors trying to make the world believe every single person with a badge will use excessive force to subdue a subject.

I'm not naive enough to think that there is NO police brutality... but the majority of the ones being posted have no merit whatsoever.

No comparison? OWS "ignores the wars and demands handouts"? They are protesting the increasing disparity of wealth distribution, and the fact that corporate, moneyed interests control our supposed "democracy". What news source do you subscribe to? Were you alive for Kent State? I was.
And "rubber bullets" can maim and kill, too. When ( not if ) there are protestor deaths again, we'll see how it plays out with the silent majority in this country. It 's bound to happen, the way the aggression on both sides has been escalating. I don't condone violence, but it seems inevitable to me at this point.

I remember watching this protest on TV. Nixon calling these protestors "bums," has a similar ring to the OWS movement don't you think? During the Vietnam protests, you had college students, and your "peace loving hippies" protesting against a war that killed over 50,000 of our young men. You can ridicule people about the way they dress, but you can't ignore their courage and strong belief in standing up for what they believe in. Who knows how many more young men would have lost their lives if these so called "bums" didn't put pressure upon our government to end that war.

The majority of the OWS movement are bums. They CAN get jobs but they don't want them. They think it's unfair that McDonalds doesn't pay 300k+ salaries.

The main point of the protests are "not having jobs" after college. It MUST be rich peoples fault, right? It has nothing to do with hard work. I'm sure most millionaires didn't have to bust their ass to get it because it was a different time back then.

FYI even MCdonalds isnt hiring here.

the main point of OWS is not having jobs after college? where did you get that quote from.
I must have missed that point on the OWS site.

thats it im totally against OWS now that i have proofs they are all just hippies looking for handouts and criminals trying to destroy americas Infrastructure

Meet the real people in the protests and that no one owns it, they tried but they didn't succeed in owning
OWS, and so they're now attacking.

I have a lot of respect for all who can brave the streets and we need to find ways of supporting, offering solidarity. If I was in the area, I'd consider setting up a corner of the house to offer shelter.

I look at it this way. All the Hippies of the 60's,protested in the millions, and are now the OLD people of today. They had a chance to really change this country. They fell short.Back then you had REAL leaders also.

No way this protest can match protestors of the 60's,in volume. No way.
