That doesn't suprise me at all my friend. Many European Nations seem to have banned alot of dangerous products while inside the USA they continue to flourish. ~SheopleNation

Well they still use sugar in coca cola from Mexico. Weird.

I know, I just had one the other day. I pick them up at this hole in the wall Mexican food place that I love. It tastes alot better with real sugar as well. I think there was a thread about that here not long ago. Not to mention Coke always tastes better in a bottle. ~SheopleNation

Very true, went to raw sugar a few weeks ago too, the next thing will be white flour, they are also counterproductive to our bodies.
The kids haven't suffered much so far (cereal etc) and I have had to re-educate myself on cooking because I love to bake novelty cakes. It can be done though, nothing is impossible.

It can be done - trust me. 6 years ago, I was the worst sugar addict EVER, and bread addict, and pasta addict, on and on. I hardly ate that many vegetables, ate mostly processed food, etc. I had been doing that for my whole life and suddenly I began to feel like I had to change it. It did NOT do it over night, but over a period of a couple of years. I actually eat no wheat, white or brown, and I've had to come up with some DIFFERENT recipes, trust me!

But there's a way - my banana bread now consists of ground flax seed and coconut flour, coconut oil for the lard, palm sugar for the sugar and believe me, you can't mix those ingredients exactly like the old recipe! But you find a way, and now, when I taste the old banana bread, it grosses me out. So it's not just a matter of trying to eat healthier and "giving up" some of the stuff you love. At first it is of course, but now, I'd say most of the stuff I used to love grosses me out and all the new stuff I eat tastes amazing.

But you're right - slowly.....! Otherwise, I would never have done it!

G.D. Searle & Company first patented aspartame in 1970. An internal memo released in the same year urged company executives to work on getting the FDA into the “habit of saying yes” and of encouraging a “subconscious spirit of participation” in getting the chemical approved.

Fantastic! pm/post me the recipe when you get a minute, sounds lovely.

We grow our own bananas too (lady finger), excess goes into the freezer for just that kind of bread.
We've always been big on veggies, it was a case of eat it or go hungry because it's good food.
When you think about it and research what goes into/on that so called good food, it tends to encourage grow your own, as we have done.
Scary sh!t really...

Some of you people who are not up to date about the dangers of these products might want to consider this.

When you wake up, what is the first thing that you do? = You probably brush your teeth right?

Toothpaste contains Sodium Saccharin, which is equally as dangerous as Aspartame and Sucralose (splenda).

Maybe you use mouthwash as well? It contains Aspartame and others Saccharin or Sucralose.

Maybe you have a cup of coffee, and then use a sweetener? Contains the same stuff.

Not a great way to start out your day, and certainly not on an empty stomach. They even put the crap in toddler toothpaste. I for years now only use organic toothpaste. You should as well. They are slowly poisoning our population and is it any wonder why so many people are dying of Cancer? Don't be a herded sheoplized robot my friends. Help yourself, your families and your friends by informing them all about the dangers of these everyday products that most people intake without a thought. ~SheopleNation

I was going nuts for several years with a high pitched sound in my ears. This year I figured out that it's coming from diet drinks. If I have three or more in one day, my ears go nuts.

I have always had bad feelings toward diet drinks made with artificial sugar. I don't know exactly what it is. I just don't feel comfortable putting them in my body. In fact, I believe it is better to inject yourself with high fructose corn syrup than whatever else is in diet drinks.

Edit: Something about the synthetic nature of the artificial sugar seems to cause problems in how the body handles these unnatural substances.

I've never 'used' diet drinks, i think the whole concept is carp (all additives aside) I have tried both diet drinks and artificial sweetners and they tasted weird and chemically.
My nan and pop started using artificial sweetners about 10 years before they died, and they both died of various cancers. Obviously this doesn't mean that the additives gave them cancer but it is still something to ponder.

These symptoms sound the same as withdrawals from ciggerettes and also from that drug thats green that we can't talk about here. Also extreme stress coupled with poor diet also causes these problems. I know as i have experienced withdrawals from all of them.

The eyelid ticks are particulary annoying i have found.

I'm all good now though (:

I'm a nutrition major at a major university, and I asked one of my prof. about it and he said despite that bad name aspartame gets on the internet, it hasn't been proven that the negative effects listed in this thread are true.

HOWEVER, I'm still opened to the belief that we simply havne't gotten far enough to prove it yet. I'm still open to the belief it could be toxic.but as of right now I'm unconvinced.

I've never touched diet stuff because mainly, it tastes like crap.

Always preferred the real drinks with plenty of sugar. They taste much better.

Thoz dam wimmin....

Funny though cause even natural spring water, the best and healthiest water you can get, also has dangerous toxins in yet people make a big fuss about fluoride and aspartame and such like it's gonna strike you down dead on the spot after just one tiny drop
