Facebook Is Drowning in a Flood of Hardcore Porn

gawker.com

If you walked by your coworker today and saw hardcore porn filling her screen, there may be an innocent explanation. Some sort of hack is currently spewing porn and gore all over Facebook. It's a porn flood!

For the last couple days, Facebook has been "inundated with pornographic images and links," reader Adam Sank tells us.Spamming gore and porn is definitely one of Anonymous' trademark moves.

I'm amused by this. I know I'll be flamed for this but I hate Facebook and enjoy seeing it and it's user base suffer. Anyone here seen anything yet? I don't have an account if that wasn't apparent. I'm actually only posting this so that people with kids can censor the porn and gore. Any idea who's to blame? Perhaps some 'Anonymous' shenanigans are afoot. They apparently claimed to have created a new Facebook virus. And nothing of value was lost.

I've been laughing my ass off all weekend on Facebook. In fact, I just saw photoshopped pick of Justin Bieber sucking a you know what. Nasty, but friggin hilarious. I guess it's bad if little kids see it though.

Die Facebook die!

I haven't seen anything of the sort, is it paid links that lead to these images or otherwise?

ETA: I think I found the source, there's a page called CHICA CASA BLANCA SANTA ROSA EL ORO ECUADOR.

A picture of a topless chick appeared in my newsfeed courtesy of 'liking' the photo.

It seems if you 'like' a photo on the page it will automatically post that in your newsfeed.

You probably will be getting flamed... but I'll be right there with you because this is really, raelly funny. I can understand trying to keep in touch with people who live far away... but that's gotta be less than 1% of the traffic going through that site. Nor do I care that little kids will be seeing that material. When I was a little kid, all I really did was look around for porn.

The gore is going too far though... as a nation we've become far too desensitized to that sort of thing but I'll forgive it... because this is facebook we're talking about.

hmm haven't run into them on fb. but a friend sent this around possibly part of the problem?

FYI:::Facebook currently has 4 VIRUSES: #1 ---If you get a notice of a PHOTO TAG ... Do not open it. #2---If you get a notification that a friend reported you for offensive behavior etc.. Do not open it. #3 Is a Video saying 99% of People can not watch this for more the 15 Sec. Do not open it is also a virus. #4 all Messages from your friends via chat saying click this link .. Do not open! These are BAD ones and will crash... your computer ..... PLEASE RE-POST and warn friends

so there may be more than one attack taking place. anyone who has noticed the problems have you hit one of these 4 issues beforehand?

It makes me wonder, is this Anonymous' first step in destroying Facebook?

Perhaps it does. I dunno. I haven't been going much of anywhere but ATS lately so I'm rather uninformed at the moment. I was just on YouTube and there was a TON of porn linked to a video about the newer BMW M3. Weird.

I too am highly amused as well. I hope things like this get so out of hand that it becomes an inconvenience to use. Then people will realize after a few weeks, some maybe months how dumb and wasteful it was. And I thought parachute pants were a terrible fad.

I can start seeing the backlash from this when a business sends a client something through fb and they get porn instead of what was intended.

If this video is legit, seems like it is Anon. I'm a supporter of them but honestly it's a pretty annoying tactic, they should have done something more political.

Well, Lately, I have been adopting a "Meh... does it matter" kind of attitude on Life itself. Not on all subjects, of course not. But this? Well, I don't know. I do not agree with the ones responsible for the spamming. It is not right for my 12 year old sister to have to see these images so early in her life. Well, i suppose it is not right for anyone to have to see anything against their will... But then again, when we chose to sign up for something like Facebook on the internet, did we understand fully what it was we were getting into? Do you know what I'm sayin'?
