What If I Belive In God And Jesus But Dont Have A Religion

It's perfectly reasonable to believe in a Divine Creator while dismissing the view of God we get from Organised Religion. It's unfortunate that God and Religion have been so strongly associated that you are either a "believer" or a "disbeliever" in the eyes of many when it comes to this topic. It's not that black and white. One can still believe in God AND completely distance themselves from Organised Religion.

when you pick a god from a religion then you are a christian, muslim, etc. so if you believe in jesus then you are by definition a christian.

Believing in Jesus doesn't make you a Christian. Muslims, for instance, believe Jesus was a prophet but not the son of God, thus believe in him (his existence and in his status as a prophet). Being a Christian means you believe the Bible is the word of God and Jesus was the immaculately conceived son of God, born of the Virgin Mary.

Following Jesus' teachings make you his sheep and he your shepherd, or perhaps you just think there is some sage advice and wisdom to be gleaned.

Really, I don't think he was trying to start a religion; that was Rome and that bastard Constantine.

May as well pick the coolest mythical characters to believe in if you are going to go the mythical characters route.

From the content of your other responses on this site it is clear that you are the one who is detached from reality. If only the new age garbage was not a reality. Too bad it is. gees i didnt think i had to be so detailed. by believe i met believe jesus was the son of god.

i dont have any problem with jesus' existence but i dont believe his mother was a virgin and he was the son of god, or miracles,etc.

Agnosticism is the term you're looking for. There are many sub categories of this, and they are kind of hard to describe. I would take what you feel creditable from each religion. No one can tell you what religion is right or wrong for you. Even alot of church goers will admit organized churches will be biased sometimes. Alot of churches don't even agree on interpretation from one to another, even within the same religion. That's why its also a big question what church you even join if you chose a specific religion. (if you pick a church...which personally I wouldn't suggest, as I feel most are corrupt.) I might say a like minded bible study group is more up your ally.

I gave it a whirl before going atheist. Wasn't bad...just at the end of the day, not for me and what I've come to consider plausible. Hope this helps you in your search. S&F just for exploring new information and not being afraid to state your question, even if your belief system is different from my own.

If you believe in the bible, which is the only way you can believe in Jesus, then you have religion.

So you have religion, just kNot a specific faith.

to be totally objective , whatever you believe is something beautiful,church/peers/congregations should not have an effect on your belief system.Spirituality is a personal relationship with whoever and whatever diety one believes in.

Jesus only exists in the bible and the OP said they believe in Jesus, which means they believe in the bible and to believe in the bible is to have religion.

If you are saved, then you've bought into the dogma of religion, so you too have religion.

You both have bought into religion and are in denial.

I have 101% faith in God, with ZERO bible and ZERO religion. Once you can say that and kNow the truth about God, then you don't have religion. Until then, stop lying to yourselves.
