"YANKS GO HOME"

In WW2 Oz had a saying about Americans.
Yanks are over-sexed, over-paid, but worst of all they're over here.

Hooray for America furthering its empire~!~
(Sarcasum)

This is nothing more than America furthering its clutch on the world.
Im a tax payer here, and this is the crap my taxes go to?
UGH!!

Im not buying the excuse its to protect anything.
Theres no need to,if any country attacked any base of ours, anywhere,it would be an act of war.

Theres no need to have another base in another country.
Besides, does anyone really believe if China attacked a U.S base, that the U.S would go to war the convential way?

NO WAY!
Thats one ground war that has fail written all over it,before it began.

This song should become this countries new anthem.

Isn't there supposed to be a "secret" underground base around there somewhere?? Perhaps this is the overt way to pre-position a RDF force to man/protect it if the "claimed" coming madness happens.

Just food for thought.

SeeYa!

China is about containment. Its not about invading. if we go to war with China , it will be a Naval / Air war , as invading would get many people killed. We would bomb them back to the stone age. The Marines are there if they decide to use infantry to try and push their way across the ocean , and island hop.

Marines can slow them down.

I saw that movie. It was called WW2

Seriously if the US and China have a war who will supply the US military with replacement parts for their planes, boats and things since all manufacturing is now done by the enemy?

American citizens don't seem to be doing very much of anything these days other than playing video games, watching TV and moving thier sticks and 'made in china' trash from one foreclosed house to another foreclosed house.

This is fairly inaccurate.

Milspec parts are subject to 100% inspection, as opposed to the random sampling done by non-milspec labels. This is something that the Chinese manufacturing market has yet to really export, as they are plagued by quality control problems.

"Aim, the Chinese are just as capable as..."

Yes. . . and no. Part of it is a cultural problem. Many of the Asian cultures are built around telling people what they want to hear (or what you think they want to hear) - factual basis of the statement be damned. This, obviously, leads to a lot of issues when it comes to inspections and running checks of quality.

The other part of it is that it's not cost-effective for China to do it, at that point. High-precision, mass-producing manufacturing techniques require a lot of automation. Most of those machines are made in Europe and the U.S. - and the tools/dies used also made in the Europe and U.S.

China has long been its own worst enemy, in some cases. The market they enjoy is that of low-precision parts that do not demand much in terms of quality. These jobs do not require large amounts of automation, and can be accomplished by factories full of people bustling about doing different manual tasks. This is the politically correct way of manufacturing in China - it puts people to work (this is not all that uncommon in other countries in the Pacific).

China is experiencing some pretty hard lessons in industry, presently, as they are being forced to modernize a lot of the processes and lose jobs to the efficiency and accuracy of automated systems. This is only further amplified by recessions in other parts of the world and the growing number of retirees.

But I digress.

Most components used in the military are produced by domestic manufacturing companies. Some come from Europe and Australia - but most are from our own manufacturing plants.

In either case - you don't go to war on an empty warehouse. With the pace wars are fought today, you don't have time to 'build up' as you are going into war. You go to war with the toys and inventory you've got... and it will be over before you really have an opportunity to see your industry ramp up to meet the challenge.

Can i ask something. I'm not very knowledgable in this area.

Are there any bases in the US that are not US bases?

Australia used to have a base in Hawaii. I don't think we still do. Years ago the labor party went on a spending cut spree and closed down alot of Aussie bases through Asia and decided to close down the base in Hawaii as well though it's not part of Asia.

US marines to set up in Darwin, Australia

www.news.com.au

THE US will have a permanent new military presence in Australia by rotating marines through a base in Darwin,
US President Barack Obama is set to announce.

This is all about the rise of China, the modernisation of the People's Liberation Army and, particularly, it's about the increased vulnerability of US forces in Japan and Guam to the new generation of Chinese missiles,

"The new Chinese missiles could threaten them in a way they've never been able to before.
(visit the link for the full news article)

Id say it has more to do with the joint missile defence Australia and the U.S have happening.

Name them.

Please name these "so many bases" you already have in Australia And don't use Pine gap as it's a joint observation base. I don't expect a reply because you won't find anything to back up what you've said because it's not true.

Yet one more ill informed yank mouthing off.

I read the article - and it seems like a lot of posturing to me. I mean, if they are truly worried about a missile strike from China - in Australia - then why did they just list the exact location of the base that our marines will be?? We're obviously not trying to hide the fact - so clearly it is just a chess move.

My thought exactly~! Star for this.. Tactics, strategy & don't forget deception.. all of which is Sun Tzu's concepts..
BIG announcement.. "CHINA.. FYI>>we're planting 10,000 troops on Aussie soil just so you know.. what we're doing~!"

Personally, it's a head-jerk move from the WH to take our attn away from the middle east, IRAN specifically .. and don't forget .. ALL the world will be watching TV when the fake POTUS takes to the airwaves..

Not just China.. there ARE more countries that just China with an agenda

As is if you could hide a base built for that purpose. In fact you'd want them to know about it.

US Bases in Australia List provided by the Australian Anti-Bases Campaign Coalition (your own boys
)
www.anti-bases.org...

If there are no US bases in Oz why is there an Oz coalition wanting them removed?

Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt

Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt is located on the northwest coast of Australia, 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of the town of Exmouth, Western Australia. The town of Exmouth was built at the same time as the communications station to provide support to the base and to house dependent families of U.S. Navy personnel.

Ignorance is bliss, Myself i hate those white vans, they have no air-conditioning and the windows always seemed to be blacked out and that aint no ignorance. Whats funny is the fact that noone asked why the hell is the navy involved in a secured land operational base when the term " navy " points to sea bound an all its glory. Bu the way is it true that the U.S. and French conducted a live war game with drone subs and drone uav's just like all future military think tanks have written and predicted on how in the next decade war's are to be conducted.

Oh wow look its a ufo...no gentleman, its human and its been around since the late 80's .but its funny how they are using combustion engines for tests as prying eyes are narrow and wide.

i guess we will also be building them a civilian nuclear reactor too...ill go look for the source but im sure i read it here..
it this is the one thing i will give USA over most other countries that end up fighting we usualy have a big or costly war demonize the enemy but then eventualy something ends up scaring them more then us and we are a buddy with them most countries get to pull that off (dont see korea inviting japan over to play do ya?)

more directly ontopic it does not surprise me too much that were doing this in Australia as we have had good relations with each other over the years and with the usa and uk alliance pretty strong its not to suprising to see us beefing up defenses in the region in the face of new found Chinese naval tech problay be good for the local economy though tourisim and such just hope they learn to not mess with the rugby teams

Well the NAVY is involved in just about everything...

Here in the Nevada/California area

China Lake - Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake

Hawthorne Nevada - NUWC - Naval Undersea Warfare Center - in the middle of the Nevada desert and yes there really IS a submarine base under there

Fallon Nevada - Top Gun Navy pilot training facility

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms California Desert

Naval Space Command - (see my thread)

So yeah the NAVY is not only sea related

Indeed most people know that navy does kick some serious ass when mentioning dod. But hey since you seem to like the navy, perhaps your able to pull up some more info regarding the live combat uav's between the u.s. and french drones. It was reported that its stimulation was equal to child in a candy store..!

all of this was from the source but in my own words so take that for what its worth it is yahoo answers hope i helped
