So your theory is that China wants to steal my women?

Nah, Mars does, tho.

Freakin' Marines get all the good assignments.

Because , when the Chinese strike. You have a defensive wall that encases them. So all your forces arnt killed in one strike. They can get the hell out of dodge , or deploy very rapidly from different areas. So they have to focus on more than one area.

China is about containment. Its not about invading. if we go to war with China , it will be a Naval / Air war , as invading would get many people killed. We would bomb them back to the stone age. The Marines are there if they decide to use infantry to try and push their way across the ocean , and island hop.

Marines can slow them down.

why do you think a war engaged with China would be fought in China? China's greatest military asset is its Infantry.and it is a very polished machine. More likely to be fought in India, hence a troop build up in Darwin. and probably not far off into the distance

The likely avenue of approach of China to an obvious war involving Israel and Iran is through .Afghanistan So if thats not the case then India is more likely to be a war front. Lets wait to see how many troops stage in Darwin. That will tell a story by its self

I think you got it in one, That far north of Oz, the environment up there is harsh. Be a good place for conditioning US soldiers. Most of the ADF's hardware is American, M1A1's, F18's, Blackhawks list goes on.
Another thing is that the infrastructure is already setup, I guess Ranga Julia will pay for the expansion upgrades to the base out of our pockets in the name of defense.
Maybe America can bring over some of those F35's with them that Australia stupidly bought into.

It's no fluke that the ADI's are all down south. Also those main highways that go all the way up and down were put in place with this kind of thing in mind.

if I remember correctly the Howard government were going to commission the building of two nuke powered aircraft carriers,he also wanted more nuclear reactors built, Each one was so big that the onboard hospital of just one of the carriers could service a town of 25,000 people. This was with China in mind.

Labor and Greens boo hoo'd it saying that it would be a step backward to introduce nuclear reactors into the Australian national interest, lucas hights reactor was ignored by labor. But the libs lost so no carriers.

Wellllllllllllll . . . they should be there waiting when China comes a callin'

China is determined, according to my sources, to take over Australia . . . they see it as their right . . . for all their people.

An interesting era to be alive, for sure.

It's one thing to have millions of troops but another thing all togther in being able to move them. Unless they wanted to walk to the bottom end of Oceana And even then the final leg is a long swim.

Are you familiar with

COSCO?

Probably THE largest cargo/container shipping company in the world unless Taiwan's Evergreen beats it.

It's mostly owned by the Chinese army.

Interesting.

They've been buying a lot up in the USA, too.

Nevertheless, my seemingly well connected buddies in the Mainland were quite emphatic about conquest of Australia at some future point--to take it over lock stock and barrel.

Interestingly . . . a couple of friends of mine on Taiwan with long service there in industry but also Christians . . .

INDEPENDENTLY had a similar dream . . . of Mainland China taking over Taiwan

AND SHOOTING DEAD EVERY LAST FOREIGNER THERE. There were about 60,000 foreign 'barbarians' living and working on Taiwan when I was there.

And in Dimitru Duduman's dream/vision of the Chinese and Russian attacks on the USA during WWIII . . . he "saw"

A Chinese General order the killing of every last American in California . . . including live burial in mass graves with bulldozers . . . until the General will be assassinated in San Francisco at some point in the struggle.

The link for that vision is here:

www.handofhelp.com...

===============

All of which to say . . . I'm skeptical that Australia will have as easy a time of it as many seem to think.

Certainly the USA will not.

The wise will prepare--of utmost importance first--spiritually.

Well then, I'll certainly be keeping tabs on this, since I live in Darwin.....

More marines though? It's bad enough when one of the navy ships docks up here for r&r

Yes I lived in the U.S for two years an I used to shop there.

Well if they can turn them into 5000 fully laden troops ships per day. Because that's what it would take.

On a lighter note even if they did get a few soldiers on our continent perhaps they'll get a few of these on them in the bush and just run away back to their boats

Oh hang on they're Chinese so they'll probably just eat them

Yep, with major docks all around China's eastcoast. I know one guy who's a designer there, said they were focusing on more bulk carriers and less cargo/container ships.
He said there is a oversupply of carriers at the moment, so work is a little slow.
Did'nt say anything about the PLA links, doubt he would be that high up.
China shipping is also turning towards bulk carriers to help feed the red dragon.

Premature speculation or deliberate disinfo? The original news story has completely changed and now reads:

Defence Minister Stephen Smith today dismissed talk Mr Obama would announce an increased rotation of US marine forces through Darwin, a gateway to Asia, as part of a planned permanent new military presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

"There are no United States bases in Australia and no proposal for such bases," Mr Smith said in a statement.

Federal Govt rules out establishment of marine corp base in Australia

You forgot about the dreadful, ugly, deadly and just all round bad arse Funnelweb spider.

Mind you if we needed our fauna to defend the country I'd become very depressed. Unless a wombat could drive a tank

Hmmmmm. Maybe I'm misinformed.

If figured the Marines would fit right in with the Aussie cultural set that alcohol is a preferred form of water???

One of their main problems is spouse abuse. Supposedly the military has taken a stronger hand in solving that. Haven't kept tabs on it the last 30 years.

They do eat anything that grows or wiggles.

. . . including . . . in some areas during the cultural revolution . . . their human enemies.

They are well able to squeeze masses of people into smaller spaces than other cultures. Their people are well trained to suffer privations in behalf of the Motherland.

I don't think transporting masses of people by containers on container ships would be a problem beyond their reach, at all.

And that's assuming that they do NOT have any massive 'mothership' UFO's hiding in underground hangers.

Sure am glad some of you are not running for office in any elections. Darwin would be a staging area much like Guam was for the cold war. This location would support India in a conflict between China and India. India it appears, is where the Zionist Money has gone so it will be the next Torch Carrier of Democracy / Capitalism. Every conflict the US has been involved in since WWII has been about promoting the Zionist Capitalism and nothing about Democracy. To prove my point why now are we just sending troops into Africa? After all the years of needless slaughter. Oil ...covering the 5% oil revenue lost because Iran wont deal oil in US Dollars

Marines in Darwin have nothing to do with protecting Australia. Much the same as Japan Occupying New Guinea had nothing to do with protecting New Guinea from USA

INDEED.

Several generations have been brainwashed to think that:

1. There are no consequences for stupid, evil, clueless, selfish, hateful, violent words & deeds.

2. There is no right or wrong.

3. Their chickens will NEVER come home to roost.

4. The party will go on forever with the pleasures escalating in wilder and wilder ways and with increasingly irresponsible, hurtful, abusive, evils getting worse and worse in the revelry . . . without consequences.

4.

Excellent analysis!

Its because of scenarios like this,That America is choosing its positions, and Australia is helping........

There is a considerable body of evidence, including the views of distinguished historians, senior Japanese Navy officers, and the official history of Japan's involvement in World War II, to support a conclusion that the Japanese intended to become the masters of Australia in 1942, either by (a) invasion of northern Australia and severing Australia's lifeline to the United States, or (b) severing Australia's lifeline to the United States and then pressuring Australia into surrender to Japan.

THE JAPANESE PLANNED TO COMPEL AUSTRALIA'S SURRENDER IN 1942

I smell World War in the wind........................
