ok, so i'm saying, this isn't a new topic and people have been having abortions for a very long time and we've heard the religious take on the matter. but people are still going to do what they do, so why keep talking about how much god hates abortion and just let us have our free will and let us go to hell?

There is no connection between a three day old group of fetal cells and a baby already born and breathing on its own! Come on! Get a life! Get your own life. You want to tell a real story? Tell me about the time you convinced a woman not to have an abortion and you took her child, raised it, cherished it and nurtured it, the whole time letting it have contact with the mother...let's see some CHARITY. No woman wants an abortion simply because she got pregnant right after her first pregnancy! Women have abortions because the child is unwanted, or they cannot afford to have a child or the father has taken no responsibility for the pregnancy, or in the case of rape or incest. This is a rude and RightWing Fundamentalist Anti Abortion tale and has no business being on ATS!

In my opinion God and Spirituality is a personal thing. God doesn't say the exact same thing to all people in a Generic Statement. The 10 commandments may be good rules to live by but there are many different paths that people take. The 10 commandments were written by men. They were smart men but they were still men NOT GOD. The 10 commandments were written so long ago they don't really apply to society today. What about execution ? What about people on death row. Why not go and show your support for the lives of the rapist and murders who are about to be put to death.

Your opinion means nothing though because truth is absolute not relative. Don't be deceived into thinking GOD isn't an actually being. The spirituality you are talking about stems from the holy spirit which is part of the God head. The ten commandments are still relevant just because something is old doesn't invalidate it as being true. That has got to be one of the the poorest arguments ive heard. And the ten commandments were not written by men, who told you that lie? If you knew the story moses when up on a mountain and GOD struck the ten Commandments into a rock. Your biblical knowledge is clearly lacking yet you are so quick to refute it, you are displaying the arrogance as a prideful scoffer.

Of course I put no thought into it. LOL. There is nothing to think about. You people are concerned about the death of embryos because magical sky daddy says its wrong. You say adoption, the sad reality is that many children never get adopted after they are no longer cute babies. You scream bloody murder about this when people are getting killed all the time and countless children are starving to death. Your prorities are way out of order. So no, I dont give this issue much thought because the people who are against it are functionally retarded.

Some cannot fathom that it is not about religious dogma.

Its about you and me sitting in a womb knowing things the living do not know...being aware there is a conflict going on ....but we are counting on love to triumph.

Some however are ripped in two both in body and spirit...they are exterminated...never to return with the same hosts ie parents whom initially through spirit accepted the conception(yes a mystery that is hidden).

In the end they will continue on in existence.

Maybe you're screwing with God's plan ? Maybe he intended that fetus and it's soul were never meant to live a life on this planet at this time? How do you know what God's plan is? Doesn't God work in mysterious ways?

Maybe the abortion doctor is the vessel that is carrying out God's plan. Have you ever thought that you don't know what God's plan is or is it that you just want everybody to follow YOUR PLAN

It’s called responsibility! There are a million ways to prevent pregnancy! Some people just are too upid to think ahead!

I had one friend who got pregnant 20 years ago. Instead of aborting her baby, she decided to adopt her baby because she couldn’t provide for her! Nowadays, she sees her daughter! And they have an awesome relationship together! I remember the first time my friend saw her daughter! The first thing her daughter said was “Thank you Mom for letting me live!” I’m sure many here will find an excuse for abortion taking precedence over adoption! G-d forgive some of you get wrinkles when you have to have a baby! Talk about vanity! (I have the video of the Mother and Daughter meeting for the first time. I will upload when I find it).

The saddest part of abortion is when the baby has no say in the matter!

me and my girlfriend were just talking about this..

if god has a plan and already knows everything thats going to happen, then obviously abortion is a part of it simply because of the fact that it is happening.

we either have free will or we dont. dont give us the ability to have abortion if you are going to tell us not to. its stupid, its like leaving a child in a room with a bowl of candy and telling him if he eats any he'll go to hell.

Except that the child within the woman is not part of her body, it is another human being developing. A fetus is NOT a cancer, I am a bit horrified that you would even try to claim that a woman having a fetus, and having cancer is the same thing... It is not...

If a woman doesn't want to get pregnant, get a condom on your partner.

If a woman is raped, killing the child is not going to make the rape go away. If she has problems giving birth to the child she can have the fetus removed, alive, and it can be placed inside a woman that is not able to have a child, or it can be given away to be adopted, there are literally millions of women out there who can't have children.

There are MANY choices, and none of them have to be killing another innocent human being who has done NOTHING to the mother or to society.

The problem is thou that in the name of "progress", once again, people are being desynthesized to believe a fetus is not human until it is born, or some other excuse.

Once a sperm gets inside an egg it has started to form a human being.

Even after being born a human being continues to evolve, and this evolution starts when each half of both sexes unite to form a future human being.

The best way to prevent pregnancy is to not have sex if you don't intend to have a child.

People shouldn't even be having sex unless they are married.

I live now only to serve God, I couldn't care what insults you throw at me or how you try and scoff at my faith.

Living a life purely for pleasure and materielism seem's incredibly boring and selfish to me. Talk about being a robot and following the crowd.

There has got to be something more to life than that, and I know their is and that's why i'm willing to wait for my reward instead of having it now and paying the price later.

I think of it like this; If you eat your desert first, your going to be too full for the main course.
