What's with the guy used on the commercial for the tomorrow's EAS test in the US?

Similar. We had that time frame displayed in a news banner which ran along the bottom of the screen about 15 secs before the test started, then "bleep-bleep-bleep" a few times and a box in the middle of the screen stating "This is a test of the National Emergency Alert System. This is only a test". Of course, this was accompanied by someone saying something that was so muffled you couldn't make out the words, but that's typical of our monthly tests here in NY also.

I tuned in to a local rock station in GA and right before the test started, a song named Nightmare by a band named Avenge Sevenfold was on. The song is basically about the price of evil and our nightmares becoming reality. Strange coincidence?

It's possible it's all part of the drill. I'm hearing on CNN right now that everything was basically a failure - there was supposed to be a special "presidential" code sent to Obama to go on air and it never arrived. Maybe that's why they scrambled the B1's (to check to ensure all was okay) but keep us advised if you hear more, okay?

I don't understand, if it's a national test then why wouldn't everyone see the same thing? There was nothing in regards to Homeland security on mine, and 10 minutes is quite a long time to have interrupted your programming. I thought the longest it was possibly supposed to last was 3 minutes, ours here in my town in TN. was the normal 30 seconds or so.

I missed the whole thing. I'm just not used to having the tv on during the day and totally forgot about it. I rarely listen to the radio, too. I came here hoping to find out what I missed and it sounds like I didn't miss much. I live near enough to DC and as far as I know it was a normal day there.

It's working great here in the Chicago area. Last night...this morning..this afternoon. Feels like 2011 all over again.
