This man is rich:
www.bankrate.com ...

I say we ask him nicely the first time and if he resists then we just take his money.

Serves him right. He ruined our country.

(this is meant to highlight the absurdity of what I see going on with the OWS protests)

Too bad these OWS whiners dont read this:

Cook worked his way through Columbia University's Medical School by running a blood-gas lab at night and supplementing his income with a variety of scut jobs within the hospital, including drawing blood and cleaning the cages of lab animals. Many of Cook's best chase sequences are set deep in the bowels of major medical centers where he once pulled all-nighters.

He WORKED his way thru college, didnt need to take out loans and such, in other words, HE PULLED HIS OWN WEIGHT

my husband went through an apprenticeship program in the late 70's, have worked in the field all these years, he is now a journeyman tool and die makers...
guess what...
he was making more money in the early 80's with just a few years experience!!!

now, that's insulting!!!! and well, ya, so some spent a whole four years of their short lives in a college....
and they expect the big bucks for it!!!

to me

the Chicago Board of Trade was not doing something constructive
they were trying their damndest to humiliate the OWS crowd... the object was to demean the protestors
with service industry jobs while these 'Captains of Industry' strutted their Peacock Egos around the place...

the action smacked of the 'I am better than You' theme... what douchebags that Chicago Trade Board are

Care to tell us how much it cost him to attend school back then, as compared to now?

Big bucks or a liveable wage? Do you even have any idea how different things are?

Some old folks really need to wake up...

Big bucks or a liveable wage?

is there a difference...
the cost of living is big bucks!!!

like I said, my husband has been in the trade for over 30 years, and there's been plenty of times, most of the time he was lucky to have made ten an hour.... and well, there were plenty of times it didn't cover our basic necessities! sometimes, though, it sounds like some of these college grads think that the piece of paper, all the work that they put into getting it, entitles them to a $30,000/year or more salary....if 30-40 years experience doesn't cut it, well, good luck on that one!!!

Wow...how rude. So everyone's supposed to go work at McDonalds flipping burgers, this will solve ALL of our problems, yeah right.

That's not what that meant.

It was a message of: "We don't care. As a matter of fact we're going to rub it in your face."

In addition to the status of the economy in general, the people there are protesting the lack of "real" jobs. They're protesting corporate greed. They're primarily protesting the truth in the following graph at the link below. The truth that the only jobs they can find are McDonald's jobs that most people can't even afford to live off of unless they already own a home and are combining income with a spouse. And even then, there's no health insurance for most store/restaurant employees unless they give over a third of their paycheck every week. And then the insurance they get is typically a joke.

Look at the graph at the link below. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. But is outright socialism the answer? Or is that the deception?

What a brilliant idea.

Now When are they going to get fined for littering?

Oh man. That is a serious knee-slapper. I give an applause for the Board of Trade. Their attempt was ill-fated though because OWS has embarrassed themselves enough. And to the people whining about them not getting fined for littering my answer is: really? The entire OWS movement is a complete litter of city property mentally as well as physically.

To answer your question. Yes, really. Regardless of your opinion of the protesters.

Touche.

..but at least they keep it all together, it's not their fault that the garbage cans can't hold all their garbage.

It's not like they're out on building rooftops throwing propaganda out to everyone. [hope they aren't doing this too.. i'll put my foot near my mouth in preparation.]

I could go on and on about how these people are a cesspool of morons but I will restrain myself. I suggest you check out this topic as an introduction to the atrocious nature of the OWS movement. Also, for the record, I have attended my local OWS movement. It was a complete joke.

I don't think the idea was to solve any problems... I think the idea was for all of those idiot worthless hippies with their liberal arts degrees to go get a job. That way they can start to pay off those $200,000 student loans.

If you aren't being sarcastic then I agree with you. The entire crowd at my OWS consisted of the people you are referencing to.

College is getting more expensive by the year, and even the crappy jobs he had, aren't readily available to many students.

You somehow think there's enough jobs out there for every student to work, pay rent/food, AND tuition? Forget Columbia, Long Island University is 44K per year.
