Time's up: The Zuccotti Park Vagabonds have had their say - and trashed lower Manhattan-for long enough. They need to go.

Be it voluntarily - by packing their tents and heading off in an orderly fashion. Or by having th NYPD step in - and evict them. But go they must: Their lease on Zuccotti Park has expired. And It's Their Own Fault. What began as a credible protest against bank bailouts, crony capitalism and the like has, in large measure, been hijacked by crazies and criminals.

Beyond that, too many protesters demonstrate by their actions a level of contempt for residents, businesses and workers in the area that long ago crossed the line. No one should have to put up with the incessant noise, filth and downright dangerous conditions the protesters have foisted upon lower Manhattan. The drumming and tambourines. The yelling and screaming. The public urination and defecation. The drugs. The lewdness. The criminals and their crimes. It’s all got to end.

“You know, I think increasingly you’re seeing that communities, businesses and residents in lower Manhattan feel that they are the ones that are being occupied,” Bloomberg said yesterday. “This isn’t an occupation of Wall Street. It’s an occupation of a growing, vibrant residential neighborhood in lower Manhattan, and it’s really hurting small businesses and families.” Added the mayor, “Other people have rights, too, and I am very concerned about the other peoples’ rights, as well as those of the protesters.” Spot on.

That means giving the protesters fair warning that their party is over -- and then standing firm in the face of the firestorm that surely will ignite.

Source: www.nypost.com...

Well, with this report and others I have seen this week, clearly the people that reside and work in the lower Manhattan area have endure more than they should have had to. The original message of the OWS folks is already lost in the the mix.

Soon, there will be the NYPD move in- it will be well oganized and managed. It will be the protestors that escalate the ordeal and that is when All hell is going to break out----- from the Cops ONTO the protestors.

I can tell you from being around the Pittsburgh G-20 ordeal that the cops are well prepared. And by now, I can assure you they have fully infested the protestors with Undercover officers and informants. Not to mention tapping into the computer messages of the organizers/heads.

Their days are numbered... especially since the locals have had enough. It is only a matter of time. And short time at that.

I say/bet THIS Saturday. They (NYPD) won't do it on a Wall Street Business day and will try to avoid doing it on Sunday-(only as clean up to the melee of Saturday).

Any takers?

They should remain there because they have the right. Until they break any rules or laws I see no reason for them to leave. Maybe the businesses should move.

OWS has always been about overstaying your welcome.

It's an occupation. Did the US just up and leave Iraq when the people upset by their actions wanted them to?

Of course they didn't. Occupations don't work that way. This is all just fear mongering and pressure being put on the protests because the establishment knows that it might actually accomplish something good.

Just look at Oakland, the police brutally actually made them a strong protest group, more resilient and dedicated to their cause.

This does more of the same.

Well you certainly seem happy enough to post this OP.

Are you one of those that think nothing is going wrong in this world?
Or ones that sit on their asses bashing on people that actually are willing to try to change something?

The OWS message is that people are sick of corruption in a system designed, more and more everyday, to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. The message might not sound clear to you, but it does to me.

I am appalled by the lack of human empathy showed by most Americans.

Not surprised.

Just Outrageously appalled.

Ahh, because NY is an oasis of tranquility and those pesky protesters turned it all upside down, what a laugh.
Protest should continue and grow, until responsible for humoungus bailouts will be found.

Because we will pay for those bailout, me, you, and even your yet unborn children. It's a debt, and as every debt it's on interest.
I have no credits, no debts, and I live just fine. Millions of people like me will literally loose thousands of bucks, because banks suddenly forgot how to handle money responsibly (and not even MY money). And they met absolutely no repercussions whatsover.

It's all so about gaining support for your cause from the people not in your group. They have went past that mark and now are going in a different direction that what they originally started to. And most likely not by their choosing.

They have already begun to fall apart from the inside. Why, becuase the movement-ISN'T real. It's fake. At least now anyway. IMO

So the businesses and residents don't have a right to be there? Maybe the protestors should show some common decency and go home willingly. They have made their point...they are now just being annoying.

And the protestors have the right to assemble...not the right to set up a tent city wherever they want. Not to mention the fact that the park is privately owned.

If you support them that much...invite them to your house to set up their tents in your yard...don't ask others to do it for you.

What are they going to accomplish when they say themselves that they have no solutions.

They don't want to get involved politically, and they don't want to become an organized voting block.

What exactly are they going to accomplish?

Happy.... I don't know if that is the right word.

I am pleased that the mess the OWS movement is currently in is about to be cleaned up-Yes.

These people, if they were REALLY serious... IMO.... would be in WASHINGTON D.C. and not spread out around the country. Then you would get people to listen.

You know... the only people who can actually do anything quickly about the economy... The politicians/Obama.

So, maybe the OWS movement will realize that sitting on pavement in NYC will get them JACK SQUAT. But, a mass movement in D.C. will get results. Now they are just appearing to be a split group of Malcontents.

So it's ok if the economy is collapsing, millions die in the name of "freedom", and your future is over, as long as they don't bother you with their presence? Business is OVER in America, get over it. Get with the only prayer you have of saving yourself and your family/friends. We need to stop business all over America, and start over.

Anyone want to make bets on when/how this is planned go down? On a weekend for sure, maybe early Saturday morning, say 4am. This way the all-nighters will be tired and/or sleeping and the working supporters won't be there yet. Also they won't have to deal with traffic as much.

But to be sure, no matter what or how good the plan is, things won't go 100% as planned. It'll be a CF.

Hopefully, Bloomberg has the nubs to back up his talk this time. Enough is enough and its time to finally enforce the LAW before a herpes outbreak sweeps through the camp and into the city.

Pack up and head to the National Mall in DC maybe someone there will listen to them.

Bye Bye

Quick question, Zucotti park is privately owned, what happens to them when the owners say no more, get out, where do they go then? The owners do have that right, right?

then surely you could let as many as possible in your house? Let them 'protest' during the day then they can crash at your place at night.Instead of interfering all damn day and night with honest hard working citizens.

Interesting info. about Zuccotti Park that explains quite a bit

The 74-year-old Zuccotti is co-chairman of the board of the $3.2 billion dollar Brookfield Properties, a multi-billion dollar real estate development firm.

Mr. Zuccotti has longstanding ties to parks and city government as 40 years ago he was a paid, part-time member of the city planning commission and in the mid-1970s was appointed deputy mayor of New York City.

Additionally, Brookfield Properties has links to city government — Diana Taylor, Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s frequent companion, sits on the Brookfield Board of Directors co-chaired by Zuccotti. (To be fair and accurate, Ms. Taylor is more than just the mayor’s girlfriend. She happens to be an accomplished businessperson with an impressive resume that includes high-ranking positions in banking and a large utility company.)

There is even a connection to Obama's administration. Surprised? Not me

the Obama administration has backed a local wind farm (tied to Brookfield) with taxpayer dollars. The title of the story, “A NH Solyndra? Wind farm gets fed loan” leads one to believe that the project is probably on shaky financial footing. The Union Leader connects the dots from the White House to Brookfield and then, in the wake of the Solyndra bankruptcy, questions the financial wisdom of this loan.

There's more in connection to Biden as well

You might wonder how the Obama administration chose Brookfield from all of the companies looking to cash in on the government stimulus money. The answer to that question is a simple one: Joe Biden. Biden’s son, Robert is a partner in Oldaker, Biden, & Belair, a DC lobbying firm that in their start-up years (2002-2003) was hired by Brookfield.

We'll see how this plays out....

It makes my stomach turn, I'm all for the right to assemble and protest but when you act like you are entitled to do what ever you want, that's when it becomes disgusting, I have been watching the live streams every day, and not just NYC also Oakland and yesterday there was about 300 people moshing to music, blocking news media, AND they climbed up on the local news van and started jumping on it, it's becoming a free for all for anarchists who actually like to call themselves anarchists and make fools of themselves with no purpose other then being idiots.
How is that protesting? how is that occupying, all I seen was 300 dirty kids blaring loud music having an impromptu concert.

LOL...things aren't as bad as you or the occupiers are trying to make it sound. So much gloom and doom.

We need to stop business all over America, and start over.

Start over with what?

Can you tell me what system you want to replace our current system with?
