Lots of low level news sources=propoganda. IMO

No doubt an attack on Iran will happen sometime, but right now, I think it is just Gov fed news to help presure Iran.

Why not now? The entire world has been trying to negotiate with Iran for how long? When did any of it work? How did anything stop them? Negotiating with Iran is like trying to negotiate peace between Israel and the Palestinians, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

What you need to know is that Ahmadinejad is involved in a tremendous struggle with Khamenei. Khamenei is doing everything in his power to knock power out of Ahmadinejad's hands and Ahmadinejad's not going to sit back and let him do it!! Ahmadinejad is crazy enough to start WWIII and bring his whole country to ruins before he allows his own country to turn it's back on him!!! Throw in the return of the Mahdi, which he has always claimed will happen during his presidency, and it snowballs!!

it's funny how nukes are always the forefront of these conversations. I mean what country actually has the balls
to deploy a weapon of mass destruction today, knowing it will cause a chain reaction most likely. Yet, just the fact that everyone wants nukes and many already have them and threaten each other with them means it's inevitable that one day there will be nuclear war.

In a warzone you fight against an army , you dont drop bombs on areas with civilians in them ! thats not a very nice thing to do is it !

It wasnt a war anyway because our country did not declare a war , they invaded illegally again!

and there were only reports of gadaffi killing people in the streets which were not confirmed.
and yes the rebels were classified by the UN as a terror group

check out this link
and read what Bill Blum has written on his anti empire blog ( very fitting name )

killinghope.org...
he makes some very valid points
lets face it , its ok for our government to say we are against terrorism when it suits us

it was the "so called rebels " who released terrorists who had been captured by gadaffi , who then raided army bases killing libyan soldiers who had already surrendered.

Your just repeating exactly what you have read in the newspapers or BBC news on the way to work man ,
and you believe every word of it , because the possibility that it might not have happened the way portrayed by the west could even be remotely possible!

I emailed my MP and got a reply very quickly!
Dear X,
I have been the Chair of the X (removed because of location) Group on Iran. I am, like you, incredibly worried by the Guardians report today. I will be ensuring that we not only have the journalist come and speak but also the UK Minister to answer to the group.

I have been repeatedly disappointed by the lack of thinking and hypocrisy in foreign policy aimed at Iran. Having read the report I do think, however that the Guardian has slightly puffed up defence contingency / option planning (which happens for all parts of the world) and actual policy. But never the less we need to be very careful that we are not again led down the garden path.

I shall keep you posted,

I was astounded to read this in the news today. Just yesterday I was hinted to this article:

A storm of protest has arisen against a plan by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities. This has been the Israeli media’s finest hour, and it started with a great journalist’s column.

Finally, Iran plan wakes Israel up to “the Israeli threat”

You can read there:

Which means it’s confirmed – all four leaders of Israel’s professional military-intelligence establishment are against bombing Iran.

And now the British want to do the job? Did the British ever wage a war on their own despite Falklands?
Cameron just wanted to tell the EU how to handle the financial crisis - which brought him an embarrasing "Shut up!" from Sarkozy - and now he wants to "invest" in a military strike, that surely would cause a war?

I still take this news with a big grain of salt.

Is this serious? I don't think Iran, UK. Israel, and the USA would be an all out war.

Why do you keep starting with the word please?

If you have a problem with Russia and China breaking the UN sanction take it up with them or the UN. Plenty of occasions countries break sanctions, thats their right to and nothing to do with me.

My original post you have quoted was in reply to someone stating attacking Iran would lead to world war 3 and rioting on the UK streets - neither of which will happen. Why you feel the need to tell me Russia and China should not be sanction breaking I dont know? I would agree with you on that

Reading this thread is quite funny really, I have a board game I bought back in the early 90's called A Line in the Sand, a political and military game by TSR set in the middle east, and I think too many on here have been overdosing playing it.

Using the word "please" is my way of saying, WAKE THE HELL UP!

If China and Russia (or anyone else for that matter) is going to break every agreement set by the U.N., then we might as well just break up the U.N.! Remember, China and Russia AGREED to uphold these sanctions and VOTED for them. You do understand how the U.N. works, don't you?

Sounds to me like you need to go back to playing your board game.

Tell you what i'll lend you the game, it will be a step up for your intelligence level.

Its a very good move for Russia and China to support sanctions - why? (and I will try and keep it simple for you). By putting sanctions on Iran and other such countries you block off your competitors and open up more business opportunities for your own.

The UN is a big waste of time and money in certain areas and this is one of those areas.

Now Please go and educate yourself and leave the debating for the grown ups.

No it wouldnt, but you try telling that to the folks that get a hard-on to the idea on here. For some every potential conflict or military operation is the start of WW3.

Blowing up Iran has nothing to do with Iran.

The sole purpose is to cut off China from its fuel sources.

China is becoming technologically superior and will surpass Europe/Russia/US in very very short time.

Do you ever keep up with world events as a whole?

Has it ever occurred to you that the current global financial crisis and a war like this one could set the stage for the New World Order that most of these countries have already been calling for??!!

No, I suppose you haven't read that far or been able to put 2 and 2 together.

And why are people mentioning the 'bad economy' will not allow this???

The elites are not suffering and neither is the vast military complex funded by the tax payers in all Western nations.

The Rothschilds states of Israel decides where and what the West will do to protect it's interests.

lol, you mean both Russia and China will have military might that can't be conquered when they try to establish world communism. Even Russia is arming itself with funds the west is paying them.

Why do you think both countries are arming the middle eastern countries in the first place? So that the citizens in a western alliance will protest over war and break their strategic alliances like Nato. It's part of subversion.

Looks like it's not only U.K. that is preparing for a military strike, Israel too

Israeli missile test fuels talk of plan to strike Iran’s nuclear sites

Israel yesterday test-fired a ballistic missile – believed to be long-range and capable of reaching Iran – amid a public debate triggered by reports that the country’s Prime Minister is mustering support for a strike on Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

Though said by officials to have been long planned, the missile launch from the Palmachim air base near Tel Aviv fed speculation about Israel’s intentions after strong signs that there has been serious discussion within its Cabinet about the merits of a military option.

Defence officials gave few details of the launch but the Defence Minister Ehud Barak said it was “an impressive technological achievement.” He added: “The successful experiment proves again that the engineers, technicians and staff of the Israeli defence industries are of the highest level.”

The test coincided with persistent, if unconfirmed, media reports, which began anew last Friday with a front page column by Israel’s most prominent commentator Nahum Barnea, that both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr Barak are seeking to build ministerial support for a military strike designed to disrupt Iran’s nuclear programme.

Why should Russia go back to communism? Putin is more like a tsar, even now, while he lets his puppet friend play the ruler for some time, before he takes over again. And the Russian Mafia is better off as during the times, when they were called KGB, living like the drug lords they are.

Everyone just relaxe here.

We have Hillary Clinton on the scene. If there's a buck in here, she'll find it for U.S. best interest....and Hers!

We have allowed her to create a personal financial dynasty while getting paid to travel the globe for peace.

Her and Bill's piece that is. AND the Bush families.

She'll do the right thing. I'm not sure which order comes first,U.S. or Clinton dynasty, but no worries, she has everyones best interest at heart.

When are you people going to realise some form of civilian casualty in any war is inevitable? and almost impossible to avoid? believe me, our government spend a great deal of money on better & more accurate weapon systems to avoid these sad unnecessary losses, while the people you sympathise with fund terrorists to come up with ever more elaborate ways to kill, not your government YOU... civilians, does this put it into perspective a little better for you? Ohhh and lets not forget many of the claims of civilian death was propaganda,

So because a few innocents civilians got killed in a war zone, which they was forced to fight or in other cases had to do the right thing to avert bigger casualties not forget it was almost begged of us by many Arab nations & the people of Libya, and this makes the west terrorists instead now? oh how i love how you have turned it around, bravo, i can only hope common sense prevails here, not sure whether its stupidity (no offence) or out right ignorance, honestly no offence i just can't decide

So you don't think if the west didn't intervene in Libya there wouldn't have been "mass genocide" of many many thousands of men women & children then just a handful killed in air strike ?

So when a blue on blue occurs basically your telling me it was intentional to kill allied troop to right? because it exactly the same thing

Or are you know going to turn around and tell me, the killing of foreign civilians is murder and the killing of allied troops in blue on blue incident is just an accident?

You see what im saying?, your logic is backwards and fabricated to fit into your conspiracy's you just going with what fit your opinion with no real logic or hard evidence behind such accusations

It wasnt a war anyway because our country did not declare a war , they invaded illegally again!

THEY DID NOT INVADE, and it wasn't illegal either,

and there were only reports of gadaffi killing people in the streets which were not confirmed.

Well we shall soon find out my friend

Estimates of deaths in the 2011 Libyan civil war vary with figures from 2,000 to 30,000 given between March 2 and September 8.[1][2] An exact figure is hard to ascertain, partly due to a media clamp-down by the Libyan government. Some conservative estimates have been released. Some of the killing "may amount to crimes against humanity" according to the United Nations Security Council[3] and as of March 2011, is under investigation by the International Criminal Court.[4] On September 8, Naji Barakat, the Health Minister of the National Transitional Council, stated that about 30,000 people were killed during the war. At least 50,000 war wounded, about 20,000 with serious injuries, were currently estimated, but this estimate was expected to rise. However, there was no independent verification of the opposition claim

Just think all that could have been adverted had that evil madman stepped down like his people asked of him, could you imagine if we here asked our leader to step down and the armed forced started shooting at us for wanting change? is this the way to act in today day & age? was we wrong to step in? would you want someone to step in and help you should your own lead call you rats and then order the shooting of peaceful protesters?

it was the "so called rebels " who released terrorists who had been captured by gadaffi , who then raided army bases killing libyan soldiers who had already surrendered.

No, it was the troops which defected who opened up the armouries to the protesters, how are people with rocks going to raid an army base full of soldier with lots of big guns exactly?, i don't think you thought that one through, did you not see them all over the news for the past few months with there weapons, besides the point i think there is enough proof that a large portion of not only his forces but cabinet defected, its a none starter this one, moving on....

Your just repeating exactly what you have read in the newspapers or BBC news on the way to work man

And your just blathering exactly what the Iranians say which echos in much the same as extremist groups rhetoric
