Here's a thought, he could have removed her computer. This is the problem with those who support beatings, you seem to think there's an option of beating your child or not punishing your child at all. It's almost like you don't understand punishment outside of physical violence exists.

I have NEVER beaten my son, and I can guarantee you that that video is not beating... he didn't throw a bunch, he smack her several times with a belt.

Uh...have you not seen the past court cases of people guilty of doing this very thing? Yeah, not pretty. Her father was a sitting judge. She deliberately broke the law not once, but several times, on HIS account. Personally, I'd rather spank the living daylights out of my child than loose my career, go into debt, and/or go to jail for something I failed to keep them from doing under my own roof. And if you've never seen the commercials before some of the movies that play in the theaters, they equate pirating (which is virtually the same as file sharing copyrighted material) to stealing a car. Not murder...you went a little out in left field with that one. But stealing, yes.

She won't regret it one bit. My mother did this to me growing up and I only WISH I could have let the world see it. Beatings like that make you grow to hate and despise that person more than anyone in the world. I left my home at 18 and I never went back to see my mother yet and that was 23 years ago. I won't even be at the funeral. Good riddance! I have girls of my own and after all the many years of beatings I too. Yeah, it left me emotionless, almost like a zombie sometimes, but I never beat my girls because I don't want them to go through what I went through. I love them more than anything in the world and any human that touches them in a negative manner.....the beatings will be reserved for them.

Do you actually think it matters that she downloaded a video game illegally? The only people who seem to care are the ones who already supported such brutality before it was revealed. I don't see any one who was against it saying "Oh, well if she downloaded a video game that changes everything, she deserved it"... Has anyones positioned changed since you and your friend brought the shocking revelation that she downloaded a video game to this thread?

I strongly believe in disciplining my child when he gets out of line.
The sad thing, is too many parents coddle their kids, let them do what they want, dont discipline them, and let them run amok.
You see the current status of juveniles in the prison system? Quite a few are from families that didnt discipline their kids.
These are the same kids that grow up and rob banks, mug people and eventually murder someone, then when its discovered, you'd all say, Where were the parents? Why didnt they discipline them when it was needed?

Like a few other's here, I'm clearly in the minority, I wonder how many of the lynch mob actually HAVE kids to even MAKE a comment?

It turns out she was downloading illegal games/music/movies whatever, and he was pissed because it was under his account name (he paid the internet bill).

Well, not many people see downloading music or a game as illegal or as anything wrong. But that's not really the issue here. No matter what she did, a parent should NEVER hit their child like this. There is no excuse.

Sit here down and have a talk to her about it, she's 16! If you did a good enough job of parenting, then a talk is all that she needs.

Oh, like he's not going to lose his career now? Did he not break the law as well? What would he do, as a Judge to someone who abused their children? Abuse like this is against the law, for him or any schmuk (any other schmuch, that is).
