Dowtown New Yorkers furious with the continued presence of the Occupy Wall Street protesters vented angrily at a community board meeting Thursday, according to reports.
The desire to complain about the demonstrators was so widespread that the line to speak at the meeting wound its way outside the board’s office and into the street, the New York Post said. At least several hundred people showed up to the board meeting.
The major complaints from residents in the area around the Occupy Wall Street protests in Lower Manhattan were issues of hygiene, garbage, noise and respectfulness.
“They are defecating on our doorsteps,” said Catherine Hughes, who lives one block from Zuccotti Park, according to the New York Post. “A lot of people are very frustrated. A lot of people are concerned about the safety of our kids.”
Particularly annoying, suggested several community members at the meeting, was the repetitive drumming late into the night.
“The occupiers are not our neighbors, our neighbors do not beat on drums when they’re sleeping, our neighbors do not verbally attack on the way to work… Our neighbors do not break into buildings or defecate on our street,” another speaker said,
The meeting resulted in a resolution with three major points, including calls for limiting the use of drums and air horns to two hours a day, during the midday; making arrangements for bathrooms to eliminate urination and defecation in the doorways of retail shops and residential buildings; and the removal of police barricades that block access to homes and building.

They don't even know what they are standing up against!! All they do is parrot the loudest voice heard in the crowd with the human megaphone routine. They need to be in DC at the root of all problems.
The hypocrisy within the movement is truly awesome as they pick and choose which gazillionaires to target and which to ignore.
I'm done and the people of NYC have apparently reached their tipping point as well.. Keep on pushing

I take your 'couple of hundred' complaints and raise you a few thousand protesters.
By a 67 - 23 percent margin, New York City voters agree with the views of the Wall Street protesters and say 87 - 10 percent that it is "okay that they are protesting," according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
Agreeing with the protesters views are Democrats 81 - 11 percent and independent voters 58 - 30 percent, while Republicans disagree 58 - 35 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. Even Republicans, however, agree 73 - 23 percent with the protesters right to be there.
New York City voters say 72 - 24 percent, including 52 - 41 percent among Republicans, that if the protesters obey the law, they can stay as long as they wish.
A total of 72 percent of voters say they understand the protesters' views "very well" or "fairly well," with 17 percent who say "not too well" and 10 percent who say "not well at all."
Voters split 46 - 45 percent in their approval of the way police are handling the Wall Street protest, but approve 61 - 33 percent of how the police are doing their job overall.

I'm not really sure where your going with this thread...is it about messy streets? Or is it about people protesting at their lives being ripped apart to favour 1% of the planet.
You call them filth...quite a harsh term to use when you are talking about hard working, tax paying citizens who are being as* raped by the Government...
I for one support the OWS movement, i believe in freedom, i believe in equality and i believe in goodness...

And your protesters can go f*ck themselves. I care more about the views of the residents who live where you are "protesting", who work hard to raise a family and pay tax (both of which the protesters would know little about) and are sick of having their days ruined by you selfish rentamob socialists.

And by this statement, surely NO protesters have or are paying tax...is that right. You are exactly why this world wont change...
The protesters have every right to be there, if you don't like it MOVE
