Funnily enough just as I finished reading your post they started showing the interview again and yeah, you can tell it means a lot to these people. The man who hit him with his shoe in particular couldn't stop smiling the entire time. You can see this is all just such a huge achievement for them really.

Personally I don't like to hear about any death, I definitely wouldn't celebrate it, but I can soo understand the joyous reaction from these people here. This is a great day for them and Libya.

EDIT: Oh and It seems as though the picture that was released, the one posted earlier in this thread, has just been confirmed as genuine.

Oh man, the media loves to drag things on..

They're still not completely 100% sure he's dead even though they seen a photo of his dead body. Yet they completely believed in the death of Osama without any evidence.

Reuters: NTC official says Gaddafi was in the convoy that was attacked by NATO earlier on today.

I imagine he survived the attack and then was later killed by gunshot wounds (according to the witnesses on the ground that's what I imagine happened anyway).

I know, what a day for Libya.

And yes, I didn't doubt that they'd caught him, unlike Bin Laden.... the pic seems genuine and they're on their way to Misuratah to show his body apparently, we'll see I guess.

Hooray! More assassinations brought to you by those good people at the International Monetary Fund!

I don't care if Gaddafi was a good guy or a bad guy.. I don't understand this "We don't like him lets go kill him" attitude the world is carrying around. Whatever happened to "Bring him to justice"? How about put him before an international tribunal? No no.. the way its done now is kill the bastard so he can't open his mouth anymore.

Be real people. This man was not killed because he was a "bad man". He was killed for trying to trade in African Dinar. That pissed off America, the Fed and the IMF. You apparently don't cross the bankers these days. Iraq was invaded for the same reason.

The world belongs to the bankers. Period. Something better give real soon. Otherwise we'll be reading about "so and so was killed today" over and over and over. Anyone who crosses the money party better wear a vest.

So lets disregard the claims that Al-Qaida are organising the rebellions and pretty much now run the country.

Are all those other claims about Qaddaffi untrue too, like his Green Book!!!

What he's done for the country?

I have seen so many threads supporting Qaddaffi and not supporting this war because we all knew why, didn't we?

Like 9/11, this one had many benefits. It sickens me to think that you are all here feeling all warm and fuzzy over this #.

SHAME.

In this situation, It does not look like America or Nato or the west killed Gadaffi? From what has been said on here it seems that if he didn't die from the gunshot wounds, the locals would have killed him anyway....

Now that done were next ???

I hear Iran is nice this time of year.

It was easy for MI5 and the CIA to start a uprising here as the people hated there leaders anyway Iran will be harder to take down but we do have it covered on all sides now.

Libya has always been on the cards for a few years www.indymedia.org.uk...

I know, I totally agree.

While I do think this is a great day to be a Libyan, I totally agree with what you say.
They did it to Bin Laden and then Apparently just dumped his body in the sea (if you believe that you'll believe anything) because they knew he would talk... they knew he could say some things that would show the US and CIA to be full of crap.

I mean with Gaddaffi, we've propped him up for the last god knows how long.
We were selling him weapons STILL when all this "uprising" happened.

The hypocrisy is just ridiculous.

But, I still think for Libyans.... this is a good day.

We can save the attack on the why's and how's for another day.

Right now there seems to be some confusion as to what happened exactly.

It seems that his convoy he was travelling in was indeed struck by Nato but if it did then it certainly doesn't seem to have killed him. Perhaps it destroyed the vehicles causing Gaddafi to travel on foot with his team of bodyguards and it was here which was where he was spotted by Rebel forces on the ground who then shot and killed him? Maybe even captured him before deciding to take justice into their own hands perhaps?

It's unclear but we'll know more soon I imagine.

Really, are we really not going to discuss the 'how's and why's'?

Surely this is a big joke. Maybe I'm dreaming.

A new report has just come in on sky news:

One of Gaddafi's sons (Mutassim) was captured alive in Sirte, but has just been found dead there. Not sure what happened exactly. :/

Who knows, they will tell us what they want us to hear I suppose. I do hope his bodyguards are safe, some of those were HOT!

Well discuss it, I'm not saying don't, I have no authority... just saying that for the people who've been under his regime their entire life, who've known nothing but him.... this is a good day and that we should at least take some time and watch their joy and elation.

If you want to talk about the other stuff... make a thread, I'll happily participate and we'll talk about the hypocrisy of the west and how we're just using and plundering the middle east and shaping up for more attack etc,,.

I'll happily join in.

OMG a day after Clintons visit. Suss. Right before they declare war on Iran. Suss. These are the best bunch of ragtag rebels ever. They have shot down planes with shoulder fired missiles and they have such skill with those toyota mounted guns and ak-47s. Gaddafis army must be the worst performed bunch of trained infantry ever.

Ok, stupid question. When the revolution comes to the US (which I think its only a matter of time), will the opposition or rebels here be called the National Transitional Council?

Bull. It's a cover-up.

I won't believe it until I see his long-form death certificate!
