You can polish a turd but its still a turd. Look at the list again. There are only a few things in it that really matter.

The Libs and Socialists and even Communists have hijacked the movement through Soros, and the MSM is focusing on the "shortcomings of Capitalism" along with Mr. $200 million net worth Michael Moore.. But you fail to understand the real problem behind the Obama admin. and the previous Bush admin. along with Clinton and Bush Sr. They are all subservient to the Federal Reserve and the 6 or so Mega banks. JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, CITIGroup, PNC and U.S. Bank, Morgan Stanley and of course, the private Federal Reserve banks accross the country which prop up these banks and loan to the Federal government. They're all responsible for creating these fake derivatives and creating this massive debt crisis, along with the inefficiency of the Federal government itself. So if you want to protest the real problem, its the Private Federal Reserve in charge of printing and lending, in coercion with the Federal government.

The Federal Reserve protests are starting Friday at 6pm CST at the Dallas Federal Reserve, and then Saturday at the Houston Branch at Noon CST, and Sunday the San Antonio Branch from 10am-noon CST. Of course, Friday is the big day to go to your local Federal Reserve and protest. More information can be found here.

www.infowars.com...

Protest the real originator of the problems we face, and do not let the MSM lure you into the false left-right paradigm, the majority of them wish to continue the status quo and give the banks unlimited bailout money until the UN, WTO and the World Bank in cahoots with these mega banks and the Fed Reserve create a global currency, which will be run by the mega banks and the Fed. So get out there and protest! And don't let the police or security tell you otherwise, just remember to stay off the property with cameras, but you can be right on the outskirts or sidewalks. Life, Liberty, Prosperity. RESTORE LIBERTY!

edit: The proof is in the pudding, do your research and you will be surprised what you find about the history of banking in the world, and how central banking originated in this country. JFK was murdered for taking away the Federal Reserve's power to print money, and LBJ returned it as soon as he got into office by default.

You better correct your statement, it is the 90% who finance the nation as none of them pay a cent in taxes, most bigger companies and individual pays little taxes.

You are a member of The 99% so start acting like it.
edit on 5-10-2011 by TheImmaculateD1 because: (no reason given)

Obvioulsy I'm part of the 99% - but as stated, just because I'm not part of the 1% doesn't mean I support the OTHER 1% out there protesting in my name.

And there is NOTHING to correct... well, actually it was a little exagurated. Here is the truth:

The share of taxes paid by the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers will fall from 4.1 percent to 3.6 percent.

The share of taxes paid by the top 1 percent of taxpayers will rise from 32.3 percent to 33.7 percent.

US Gov Info

So exactly how much is enough? They earn a lot - and pay a lot... meanwhile, those unemployed pay nothing at all... ? Oh wait.. that's supposed to be fair because the rich are "bad" right?

Find me one of these so called "jobs" you say they are creating! You can't because anything you do find is either in fast food or retail.

What's wrong with fast food or retail? pays the bills, you may have to work hard and compete with kids who will take less and work crappy hours... but you have to do what you have to do.

Also - I know my company is hiring, so is my wife's. There are jobs out there - problem is if you've pinned your hopes of getting the SAME job at the SAME pay... you're going to have to change your goals a bit.

WHAT? What the hell America you live in? I've been in Minnesota, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arizona, Texas, Washington DC, Wisconsin, Michigan, both North and South Dakota, California, and Tennessee... even Georgia.

That's a ridiculous statement to make and only shows you're complete ignorance of reality.

Hell, my folks live in Michigan - Detroit is bad, but doesn't look like a "bombed out city"... good grief.

Committing a direct and blatant character assassination are we? Real mature!

Her experiences are different then yours but neither yours nor hers deserves to be demonized and discredited.

The 99% are standing up so that you aren't being forced to fight the Big Banks and Oil's war for them.

Attack me and you will be reported to the Mods!

Yawn... 99% are not standing up - 1% are standing up and saying they're doing it for the other 98%... Thanks, but no thanks.

If I go out and put on a tinfoil hat in the middle of times square and jump around in my underwear singing "Tip Toe Through the Tulips" but claim I'm representing all of ATS ... you think all of ATS is good with that?

Who are you? Why are you even here? You are the smokescreen trying to derail this movement. It is bigger then you, I, the uniform you wore, this nation. Get lost!

Ahhh, here we go - this is the point isn't it? You've got no logical argument to make, no point to hear - just "GET OUT OF THE WAY OF PROGRESS!"... Never mind where we're progressing towards, just flat out "progress!"...

I'm an American Citizen that has ever right to disagree with other citizens that are supposedly speaking in my name. I'm also a member of the online community Above Top Secret - and because you don't like what I have to say does not some how vest you with the authority to command I leave said community.

In fact, that's rather trollish of you I should say.

do tell? I'm waiting with baited breath for the tale of these "experiences" that would enlighten me as to why I should trust the word of 20 year old know nothings over my own life experiences that have proven what a mockery of the American system the OWS movement pretends to portray.

Violence only happens when one is moved there by the calculation that the consequences of violence out weight the consequences of inaction.

I promise you this - none of those buffoons at OWS would lay down their lives for the non-cause that is being represented there.

If they were - they'd be in Washington protesting outside the White House and outside the Capital Building.

I can see past any facade you put up. I am also smarter then you and will not resort in the process of attacking my fellow countrymen and women.

Attack that of which you cannot control. You are current military with no hope for a job outside of the service which makes you apart of The 99%!
edit on 5-10-2011 by TheImmaculateD1 because: (no reason given)

I am former military and I promise you he has more than a "chance" at a job. In fact, most places are hiring vets just to show appreciation - not to mention the actual attention to detail and incredible work ethic most veterans display compared to the average... well - compared to folks like you.

And again - this notion that because you are protesting 1% of the population you somehow are supported by or supporting the other 99% doesn't really make any logical sense...

From the mouth of the Progressive Revolutionary.

You will back us protesting or shot.

And this is better then the current system how?

Either conform to the Govt, or the mass of Communist/Socialist/Marxists.

Hhhmmm. Gonna have to ponder this for a bit.

No kidding? So essentially the idea is that you either back their movement or they'll shoot you? Just sounds so appealing... but's it's all about compassion for the 99% right?

If you read the OP carefully you will notice the underlying agenda is political. Perhaps the author of this flaming thread is employed by one of those "Ken Dolls" the republicans are putting in the arena in the hopes we will only notice their wonderful looks and charm and not worry about the fact that they sold their soul to the reptiles (banks and corporations).

Here's better research - if you read the author's profile and see the ridiculous posts I've made and threads I've authored - you'll notice no body on earth would pay me to get on ATS...

But I do appreciate the compliments on my looks... I am rather dashing if I do say so myself.

2. A Place to stay: Own home, or shelter
3. Cable/Satellite TV
4. Wide Screen TV's

And the list goes on. I see what the OP is trying to say. Even at America's worst we are still better off than others.

I too am fed up with the system, but we should protest what we need to protest. The Government, "Big Bankers", "Wall Street" can't bribe those who are not willing to take it. We clean house....if you want to KEEP your elected seat you will do as we say.

Side Note: I am not sure if the protests ended the war or not. Regardless how the general populace felt about the war WE had NO right treating our soldiers the way we did. While of the Pot heads were doping it up and sexing it up while our men were getting killed for doing their job.

When did socialism start in America? Not under Obama's watch...look to the 60's and 70's...."FREE love man"

END RANT

Very well said and actually a good comment. My biggest beef isn't with the protest - it's with the target and lack of vision/goal of the movement.

What kind of movement is this? Who is leading it? What is the agenda?

It is a spontaneous civil event, led by everyone with no real agenda.

Have you ever been pushed against a wall by a bully? Was there, in that episode, a moment of absolute clarity where fear and thoughts of injury or ramifications of action faded and all that remained was peace, stillness, suspension of time and absolute awareness of what was going to happen next? Did you feel your fist balled up in anticipation and sense the pending impact of flesh on flesh, bone on bone, the warm, wet feel of spilt blood and bruised tissue? Did you know, unequivocally, that you were about to be the swift and awful instrument of temporal destruction against the agent of your oppression? When you did, did you smile, empowered by the surety of fear, shock and terror your blows would inflict upon him? Then, after all, did you strike?

No more fear. No more horrible anticipation. No more egg-shell walking. No more watching your back and leaping at sounds and shadows.

Stillness.
Peace.
Resolve.

Action.

Years later. Alone. How did your decisions affect you?

Did you strike, knowing that this would be, fundamentally, a pivotal event in your interaction with this bully, and all subsequent bullies fro the rest of your human existence? Or did you allow yourself to be degraded and humiliated, over and over and over…wishing that you had, at that pivotal moment, taken that illogical swing and changed the course of your life?

Are you, by virtue of your past actions / inactions, a victim or are you empowered?
If you chose to endure then, ask yourself this:
“If I could go back and change things, how would things be different?”

The bully is back. In a big, bad way and is pushing us against a wall. Should we wait and sign a petition? Tell the teacher knowing that any and all sanctions against the bully only enrages them more and sets us up for a real thrashing in some back alley? Or do we stand up and give him a shiner and knock out a few teeth, make him more aware of his own actions by reversing roles?

You, the teacher-tellers, the rule junkies, the hall monitors, the arm chair critics, the should-coulda-woulda crowd…. step aside and let the parking lot crew handle this one. We always have. We always will.

As you lie awake in bed at night alone with your thoughts and all of your insecurities and inadequacies, remember that we, the rejects, the freaks, the hippies, the skate punks, the Emos, the Goths, The rockabilly rednecks, etal, are out here slugging it out with the biggest baddest bully the world has ever known because we, collectively, have been pushed around enough.
We just can’t live with ourselves if we don’t blacken an eye or two.

You better hope we win, because if we don’t the bully will be looking for some geeky kid to pick on out of pure hate and aggression, someone that stands apart from the herd and looks scared….that just might be you.

Way too wordy, and way too much metaphor. The "bull" here are people that have wives and kids and employ thousands of others who have wives and kids. Your 401k plan is based upon them and their success or failure.

The bully is in the White House with his buddies in the Capital Building. Political parties don't matter - but I promise this isn't as pure as you are hoping.

This is a political smoke screen for an upcoming election that is very important. This idea that you're fighting the man is laughable, there is no man, it's individuals with desires and dreams just like you... but they have more money so you demonize their desires to make way for your own greed.

Oh I see... we were supposed to PAY for love. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

People love throwing lables around that they clearly don't understand. Socialism? Is someone advocating state ownership of Wall Street and the big banks? Did I miss something? Or is doing business within the context of social responsibility now Socialism? Is anything other than allowing businesses to do whatever they want in the interest of 'captialism' now considered Socialism?

In fact yes they are advocating state ownership of Wall Street... or what else would you call it? The only way to force Wall Street to do anything is via legal action and legislation...

GM is now a state owned company - socialism is on the march, make no mistake about it.
