Thanks for hitting on the very meat of this matter - the government pulled the only real mechanism that was in place that punishes corporations for poor performance - and then wants to make political hay off devising new, useless punishments for the same thing.

I agree with the OP. This is one of the most counter productive protest I can think of. Protest Big corps. by showing up wearing their shoes and the cloths they make By drinking the bottled water that they produce. Protesting against
capitalism with a man that has a net worth of $50 million dollars he made by selling books and movies that inform the unknowing public of the corrupt capitalists. Protesting for equal and a better education by standing in the street holding a sing instead of going to school. At least with the Arab spring that is what you can call a protest they knew what they wanted and went for broke. I guess in the end all the folks on wall street can do is go home with their heads held high and think at least they tried. The GOP and anyone else should endorse it too!! The government has been hijacked by Wall Street, and isn't working for the PEOPLE anymore, they are corporate sock puppets...and that's a FACT!! I've been against these protest from the beginning. First off all the protests you named were not just protests but included boycotting as well. This was the point I was trying to convey! Protesting is fine as long as it's kept small, organized and does'nt disrupt the area too much. This so called occupation is ridiculous because it's not about anything in particular so how can it change anything? If it does I promise to take my hat off to you! All I see is the Democratic party wagging the dog to keep prying eyes off of whats really going wrong with the Obama presidency! It's just more Smoke and mirrors manipulating the public and in the end i fear it will set up another violent outcome that will usher in their planned police state! Though this is all my humble opinion and I've been wrong before so we will have to wait and see. Hopefully the coldness of winter will come sooner then expected and most will go home!

What then? Since there are so many people breaking the rules we can't hold any of them accountable. I think they all have to be held accountable and we may as well start with the bankers, then wall street, then the corporations etc.

What type of logic is that supposed to be? That'd mean that any movement from here on out would just become corrupt if someone corrupt endorsed it?

Does it ever occur to you that they're just pretending to endorse it? Or they're only endorsing it to look like they're decent people? Or only endorsing it so far, and once it reaches a certain point they'll do everything they can to discredit it? They are scared of it.

Believe it or not but this is a fact : they'll only endorse so much of it if they are doing, because there's no way on earth they'd want the Occupy movement to fully succeed, because if it did the corruption in the US would be pretty much gone.

Occupy represents a real changing of things if they get enough support and become clear enough with their ideas, because they're mostly (you always have some clowns.) decent people. I think many of you are just scared of them.

In response to this, I'm going to consult my ever so handy conservative trolling checklist.

Aggression masquerading as masculinity? Check.
Poor spelling? Check.
Paternalistic condescension? Check.
References to OWS as hippies? Check.
References to "liberals," as children? Check.
