It would be funny and entertaining if this thread went on October 11th... where all well-meaning and similar threads can go- to some kind of 'false prophesy' bucket. These would go into this category after said dates occurred, and whatever world-changing event spoken of does not. All threads that are similar to: 'in 10 days, this and this will happen'.... and then NOTHING happens. These OPs are sincere, but have serious date-setting conflicts (thus, do not belong in the Hoax bin. IMHO... People who start a hoax thread are deliberately trying to deceive).

Anon is full of crap. I was on the fence but now I feel they should disappear. They are doing more harm than good. They aren't even really doing much to be honest. I see absolutely no changes in my life because of that organization.

Well, I guess the reason to anounce what they plan to do well ahead of time is to show that they cannot be stopped... I guess it makes sense, if the NYSE has advanced warning of what's going to be hit and still fails to prevent the take down the image of Anon is all the more bolstered.

I'm not saying I believe they'll be successful, I wouldn't have a clue how they intend to go about this operation. It could be a complete fail... but it will be interesting if it's a complete success.

The system is not working. We very few at the top have so much, like a dry house and food, while the all the rest of the masses have comparatively nothing. I know it doesn't seem that bad from our point of veiw, but that's only because we are mostly just looking at each other. We seem like many and indeed we are, but we're just the small percent.

Since everyone can trade online now I would say its more then possible for them to do more then just take down the NYSE website.

And you really think they would do it from their own IP address? no no no, you go to a library, you drive down the street with your laptop and use someone elses wireless, you chain 50+ proxies together, or your just in another country to start with.

The script kiddies get caught, the real hackers dont.

Just have to throw this out to those saying it will be a ddos attack...

Do you not remember the information they've leaked from HBgarry, police officers, BART, Iranian gov, military, etc?

This can't be done by simple scripts, some of these guys are very skilled. I can bet you they can infiltrate the website and completely delete it, this does not mean though, all the mirrors will go down. It also does not mean this attack will even happen, anyone can make a anonymous video, its just if people jump aboard or not. For all we know, some ddos kid posted this with hopes a hacker will jump aboard, but we can't be sure until the 10th.

My suggestion, just wait til the 10th.
