ANONYMOUS Issues Threat - NYSE Will Be Erased From The Internet - (potential hoax)

Actually very little volume anymore gets routed to the floor of the NYSE.

It mostly comes from electronic trading venues such as BATS

It is very decentralized. I don't find any of this credible at all, but if they manage to accomplish any of this it will be hilarious. But probably not for most peoples pocketbooks. So, it will be funny, but it will hurt while you laugh.

Anon has done a lot more than DDoS attacks (e.g. BART) and a few foreign government sites as well. Anon is more than a few script kiddies playing on mommy's computer. Also remember that Anon is not just Hackers. Anon is a movement and one of the greatest ideas of modern times.

I can't say i agree with everything Anonymous have done, however a lot of the messages behind their projects have been of a libertarian nature which i can only agree with

All it takes is the right message to motivate people.

They shouldn't do it on a specific date...

They should do it when the stocks are low and the market panicking. Then go in, do the DDOS, have someone cut the hard connection, and if possible go after their back servers as well.

That would be interesting. A simple DDOS is not we already know you are capable of doing that.

I couldnt agree more.
star for you my friend for speaking the obvious truth, we kept our heads buried in the sand for decades and watched this happen and done nothing to stop it. "our government would never lie to us or do anything to harm us". Well we see how well that worked out for us.

to get the back-up surver as well as individaul records of trades. nice bit of protesting
but not the end of the world type thing.
Could also be a fake out, see what protections are amped up, counters measures ect.
there would have to be a double inside the feds to get any real data though

I will say what I always tell anyone that asks me about IT Security.
Security will only slow down someone who really wants to get in.
Given enough time and effort a hacker can get into anything.

However I do think that the hurdles the NYSE have in place are pretty high ones.
You have to understand that corporations usually have stricter IT Policies in place than regular companies.
Things like SASS 70 and SSAE 16 are standard. Security is stricter.

Getting in won't be as easy.

Well I lost money from them just being theives - also neteller are theives too. I gave up after those 2. Both have inheritted the mainstream banks strategy of ' make em run around and around until they get so frustated that they die of a heart attack.'

I called it a crime because I am neither naive nor am I stupid.

If you don't consider billion dollar bailouts not authorized by the tax payer a crime, then you can sit there and stew in your own ignorance for all I care. I can already tell that you have some type of agenda, judging by your rhetoric about three illegal wars being started by the same man.

And yes, 3 illegal wars are crimes against humanity. But that doesn't make the fact that the US taxpayer was raped by the Bush and Obama Administrations and stuck with the tab any less of a crime.
