Latest news & updates

Totally peaceful demonstration. Increasing arrests.

A wake up call to hitherto untouchable institutions? Anyone listening in ivory towers?

The world IS watching...

Pity you can't watch / listen. Moments ago the crowd were chanting "We're not the criminals!"...

"You belong with us! We're fighting for YOUR pension!"

What exactly are people getting arrested for? What are the charges let alone, cause? I don't understand.

This country is finished. Done. We're in the midst of witnessing a slow death. It WON'T, and I repeat, won't get any better. It needs to hit rock bottom, just like a junkie in order to rebuild. We are at the bottom right now. It's just a matter of time.

Pretty pathetic. I wonder if this is what the Mayans foresaw for 2012. Probably!

By the way, pull your money out of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, SunTrust, Chase and all the other government owned banks and take it to a local Credit Union.

We might feel powerless in this big corrupt game but that's the least we can do.

Peace to all~

it's being said that the police led these people to the bridge...then started arresting them for blocking the bridge even though the police were already blocking it for this purpose...that's what's being said at least so i'm not 100% sure if that's true...

That is a perfect example of why this 'virtual support' is spreading across the globe at an alarming rate. It will always remain non-violent, it will always speak the truth, it will always benefit the many over the few.

How could you not support that

Edit: Here's a comment i saw on the chat just now:

Remember that the police are part of the 99%

We have already won.

What a travesty! And this is only the beginning. People are getting too pissed to keep this to themselves anymore. It's like we've reached our threshold of abuse and helplessness and now people are erupting.

Sure, I guess it's technically wrong to obstruct traffic but people are just at their wits end. They/we need to unite. We need to have that strength by numbers reassurance because this is way too big to fight alone!

Take your money out of all the corporate banks Monday.

If the MSM actually covered this event, it would cause a pandemic so large that maybe just maybe the fema coffins would be used, maybe they understand this and just maybe its for your own good that this is not being covered.

Who knows?

I certainly do not.

What I do understand is that this is 3 years to late!

Better late than never?

Who knows?

I certainly do not.

well they aren't obstructing traffic...the police split these protesters onto the bridge and blocked the bridge themselves...sounds like entrapment to me...

There should never be any problem with a peaceful demonstration. Shouldn't the police be protecting people's rights?

[edit to add:]

(Isn't it more likely it's not being covered because it's too embarrassing to show how the police are behaving.)

UnAmerican equals Pro-government.

Makes perfect sense in the Fascist country of ours.

Just to let you know America,
this is not being mentioned on MSN outside the States either.

Not a peep.
This is quite disturbing.
The Land Of The Free...
D'ya think?
Hopefully it will prove to be the Home Of The Brave.
Interesting times indeed.

How many people are estimated to be protesting?

The cops closed the bridge? I see traffic going through. Must be going into Manhattan I would imagine.
Why aren't they on the walkway of the bridge instead of on the highway part?
What a mess.

This is the Brooklyn Bridge, no?

they closed a portion of it...but it seems most are off the bridge now but it's still an area where the cops are holding a lot of people...

estimates of the size of the protest are said to be growing up to 20k now...and still more showing up it seems...

Small mention on the BBC:

Wall St protest marches on Manhattan police headquaters

NB - If the live feed disappears from time to time it's still worth keeping the window open as it comes back again & again. The clips recorded minutes ago are also worth watching.

I'm in the uk and i just checked sky news world events and bbc news and they have nothing on it,it pisses me right off and i've had enough of these C***S manipulating what news i can see.I can't help but think that certain governments around the world have pushed for social unrest over the last couple of years, for what reason i have no idea because it doesn't make sense to me but i've had a strong feeling that they've been trying to push people over the edge....

Russia Today has it too

rt.com...

Protests in New York highlighting the plight of the US economy and slamming the corporations behind it are not going away, at least until the end of winter. As unions join in, the "Occupy Wall Street" movement seems to be gaining more support daily. Activists of the “Occupy Los Angeles” movement are planning another Saturday march to city hall in solidarity with "Occupy Wall Street," reports Southern California Public Radio.
