Absolutely!

They're asking for sleeping bags + clothes for larger people.

"Please share with your neighbours whatever you can!.. And there are enough supplies to last us the next few days..."

Totally awesome. History in the making.

all it takes is total commitment to uniting as one, above manipulation, wanting it more than the opposition, and the willingness to sacrifice more as well. The good news is, we ALL can do this, everyone of us. Just as foulness and negativity sharpens itself on one another, so does love, teamwork, and the human spirit! I hope this is just the tip of the ice berg and leaks through the cracks before the the dam of slavery of our spirit and potential comes flooding down like a waterfall.

I say we Protest this Protest.

There is the official very socialistic view from the group that started this Occupy Movement ( bordering on the criminal, treasonous if not down right morally wrong and leading to human rights abuses) .

Then thousands of foolish people ran down there to add their special flavor of angst against the Government hoping to get heard and sway the crowd to their cause.

So now we have a "movement" that resembles another "movement" (bodily function) I can think of. It's a big mix of all kinds of stuff that is doing nothing but causing confusion and not actually getting one solid point across with a plan for positive action.

If anything at this point this movement is causing more harm than good. I read the foolish messages of the people on the live feed site and chanting meaningless mantras and encouraging people to keep it up is not helping, rather it can only get worse.

It's good to take a stand, and stick to your guns but that is Not this.. this is a circus of clowns. They should stop before someone gets hurt, re-organize under separate and distinct banners then come back again when there is no division and disorder.

Thanks for your words of 'wisdom'.

Have you got any suitable insults for the Tiananmen Square crowd?

No more fake divisiveness.

No more American pitted against American on lines that someone else creates and magnifies.

No more.

We are all the 99%!

No insults at all. I just see it as it comes. I have read the things from the movements official site. telling people to take over work places by force is not user friendly as well as all the socialist propaganda. I tell no lies, make nothing up that is not true.

You see a bunch of people protesting government peacefully. I see a bunch of people who do not know why they are there except they all want some type of change to take place but there is no main plan or goal they can all agree on. That is a circus.

There are many factions there all mixed together. That's not gonna work. Many of them would be appalled to learn of the socialist propaganda and background of the movements leaders. They don't know they are against some of the very things those people stand for. It's funny really. They need to have separate distinct groups do their own protests not all jump on the back of this one. They need to have a goal and a plan for reaching that goal. A bunch of people singing, love and down with government may sound nice but it is not going to get them anywhere.

I think the most positive response would be to send a link to the live stream, and possibly the updates page, to as many of your contacts as possible. Hopefully they'll respond the same way you did...

Can you tell me again exactly what you are protesting, what your goal is and the plan to get there? Really now.. all for one and one for all sounds nice but that's not getting any real work done.

I see what you are saying, but this event is being constantly planned in real-time. There is no need to 're-group'.

People are just peacefully protesting, and the world is watching them get arrested for no reason at all. This constant relay creates more exposure and more numbers the next day, now a greater group with better ideas and objectives.

Well it kind of reminds me of learning to pitch. Do you get the speed right first and then work on the aim, or work on the aim and then get the speed working? See what I'm saying?

Would be great to have a cohesive plan as you say, but without the people and the following driving the protests, a good cohesive plan just remains a good cohesive plan on paper with no traction.

With all the people joining, there is momentum building, the protests are growing into a forceful voice and gathering traction (speed) which can be steered and directed toward a solid purpose even if people are in it for varying personal reasons (aim).

The massive protests and uprisings in the middle east probably didn't start out with a coordinated end goal and plan either, but it grew and metastasized into a formidable government-toppling movement.

can you not see a valid reason to protest. You think what is happening in the finacial sector is all fine and above board...

Why are you even commenting in this thread if you don't know what this is about? And commenting negatively at that.

The goal is pretty straightforward and simple and the objective is to start bring focus and to start some REAL dialogs outside of the controlled corruption that rules our government and our lives, dialogs that include the news and the lies we're fed, the divisiveness created by and which benefits the 1% and the 1% only, and the real priorities of this nation.

Maybe Seventytwo has ran with your idea.
Of course, he ran into a wall.

If what you propose were to happen though...

These interesting times would get a whole lot more, um, interesting.

Remember, that is a old Chinese curse. "May you live in interesting times."

I am willing to take that path.
The path we are currently on is not going anywhere.

purplemer, Of course there are good reasons to protest. Of course things financially need to be changed. it's the who is protesting what aspect of this or that, that is in question here.

I know exactly what this is all about and who started it and what was said on those websites. I did not comment in a negative way, rather offered constructive criticism. Well I did say there was socialist propaganda on the organizers website and this is true. The statement

" The goal is pretty straightforward and simple and the objective is to start bring focus and to start some REAL dialogs outside of the controlled corruption that rules our government and our lives, dialogs that include the news and the lies we're fed, the divisiveness created by and which benefits the 1% and the 1% only, and the real priorities of this nation."

Is just a general catch all phrase without a plan for a specific goal. When are these talks to take place? By whom? Who's agenda will be stated first second and third. Who's agenda will not make the list?

I do not disagree with those things, to the contrary I agree with them and wish them to be implemented, I just don't see this group getting it done the way they are going about it.

BBC news television just reported "breaking news" that several hundred protesters were arrested for blockading traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge I think it was. I thought this was already old news, and I mean several hours old,so took it a few more hours to reach breaking news coverage on BBC. Oh well, it is gaining further lame stream media coverage now by the looks of it, and will continue to do so if the movement grows.

Negativity in the eye of the "socialist" beholder, I suppose?

This is a movement in its infancy. It is still being defined. For right now, all that matters is that it's ours and that we're going to define it.

Maybe simply standing up in unison, united, without the labels that bind and divide, and being heard and reminding people that we're all affected and we all matter and that it's our country and we're going to have a say, is either too nebulous or too scary a concept for some? I don't know.

Meanwhile, on related news, more than 40,000 PLUS people are expected to OCCUPY each stadium across the NFL this Sunday and Monday.

NFL Attendance

I seriously have to question whether this occupy Wall Street really has the attention of Americans much less the world.
