Is kiddo your attempt to discredit me with a lame personal hiccup? Do you have any idea how old I am?

No it wasn't and no I don't. It was not meant to be disrespectful. Actually it's a term of endearment I use with people I am familiar with. Sorry.

Who did my dad punch and why? If my dad was a cop macing nonviolent women I would be right there harassing him myself.

It's of no consequence who he punched or why. Would YOU deserve harassment for his misdeed?

I love Anon, but god their slogan is garbage

They are anonymous,
They are 16 year olds
they do not forgive their parents for turning off their WoW accounts,
they do not forget to try proactive for their acne issues,
expect them to get busted for DDoS
edit on 9/26/2011 by mudbeed because: (no reason given)

We're probably not that far apart in principal except that I believe stronger measures ARE necessary and justified now to avoid a much more serious escalation later. IF the slap on the wrist you suggest would actually be effective I would be all for it, but we both know it will do NOTHING in the end. Just as criminals are made examples of for others to see as a warning, so should events like this, especially if there is a history. His judgement is what's ridiculous, how can anyone trust this guy in a serious situation down the road?

Make an example, other cops might pay attention, slap on the wrist or nothing, other cops know they can do the very same thing without worry.

My theory is they are given the nod for this behavior from above, because otherwise something WOULD be done.

Now the question is WHY?

Uh yeah, sure. You are super familiar with me, right? At least own it, man.

Actually it is of great consequence. That is life. People do stupid crap and others get caught in the blowback. What is FAIR is more than subjective. If someone wants to harass me because my dad was a huge ass to someone then they are going to with or without the help of WoW players. In the real world, I would have to deal with that. If what my dad did was wrong and public and a huge abuse of power then I would almost expect it but my mother and I would soon be living somewhere else anyway because if my dad were a cop macing nonviolent women, my mom would have left his ass right quick.

So yeah, it actually kind of matters.

I think this is absolutely wonderful.. Its about time that these cops are held accountable for the over use of force.
I dont hate cops and i know there are some good and some bad. I actually have two police officers on my block. One of them is my neighbor and i think he is a pretty nice guy. The other one is a real jerk off.

So its simple follow the rules and do your job and evrything will be fine. But if you are violating peoples rights, using unnessasary force, or doing anything else they should not be doing and you are fair game.

We all know that cops look out for cops. Getting civilian complants on your record makes it harder to move up in the ranks. but overall unless the officer is a complete criminal they never face the consiquences that a normal citizen would face for commiting the same infraction...

So i think this is great and i hope ANON continues to go after them...BRAVO ANON

Dude do you work for the man? How much do they pay you to post this nonsense? Where has it been shown that these people are violent?

No I do not. How many pages is this thread? You're commenting on a post I made in the first few pages? Read the whole thread squirt. I was also implying that without a show of force and clearly delineated lines for protesters that things could turn bad quick. Go Google riots. Also, grow up. Of course I'm not paid by 'The Man'. Can't a brother have a differing point of view?
Do not call me squirt, you do not know my age. Police are the largest criminal organization in this country, they are the strong arm of the system that has held us hostage. They kill innocent civilians, what protection did they have? ZERO. If you are a police officer you are a public employee, we pay your wages, we should know who you are. We trust these cops to make the right decisions concerning peoples well being, we allow them to carry guns on our streets, we should know who we are dealing with at all times. Stop kissing this cops ass, he maced a non violent protester, if she was armed, or attempted to cause bodily harm to him it would be a different story.

OK, its time for Anonymous to go away. Posting that personal information is way over the line.

Honest people all know how the so called Anarchists goad Cops into having to take action so they can tape it and lie about it later. They are only fooling those who want to be fooled. Any day now an innocent person will end up dead because of these little creeps.

I think if you and I ever had a chat you would find that we are close in ideology as well. Here is my issue with this whole thing. Don't punish the family, punish the cop. You hate what he did? Start a petition to have him fired. You just leave his family out of it. It's them Im worried about. Cop was being a dumbass. He should get called on it.

Well lets assume you're not infallible for a moment and you make a *gasp* mistake and piss someone off. Should your family be worried for their safety because of YOUR mistake?

It's so easy to sit comfortably in your chair and post about what people should have done differently. A cop maced a few protesters. He shouldn't have to fear for his families safety. That's the real issue, one that you seem to dismiss rather quickly.

The absolute MOST punishment this cop should get is a retraining in the use of pepper spray. I think he was a bit out of line but lets not blow this thing out of proportion.

as usual, dismiss the Obvious ...
every day that every officer dons his uniform and steps out on patrol, his entire life is endangered.
everyone knows the locals, their kids, their doorbell, their cell #s ... geeeeeesh
it IS public information after all.

so, it's been printed in a single locale, big deal ... the media is consistently printing victim name/address & google maps with each 'arrest', regardless of the innocent involved ... why should we care?

He chose to take unnecessary action.
He chose to attack and wound the INNOCENT.
Guess he'll have to deal with consequence of HIS decisions, huh?
NO One and i do mean no one threatened his family ... ohhhhh, pizza overload, now there's a threat

I would totally own it if it was meant to be insulting. I was trying to be insulting when I called you sweetheart for instance. For that I do owe you an apology.

Just answer the question. Is it RIGHT for you to be harassed based on your fathers actions in this scenario?

Is there some kind of Stockholm Syndrome going on at ATS or what? All i can say about whats going on on wall street is that at least someone is doing something. I can not believe that there are people on here that would be against Anonymous and these protesters out there right now. I would like to say thanks to Anonymous and all of the protesters for making moves and not just running your mouth on a message board.

Squirt and sweetheart were meant to be condescending. I'm sorry for that. Also, I'm not the OP. Also, I've been defending an unpopular position for 5 hours and think I should be commended on my not stooping lower!

Implying my calling you squirt had ANYTHING o do with your age. People can be small in many ways. Still, it was not necessary and I am sorry.

Hyperbole aside, do you really think his family should be punished for his actions? Next time you here about some dirt bag that goes around raping people you better Dox him and harass his family. It was obviously his little sisters fault.

Great, cannot wait to get it. So you are suggesting you are familiar with me? Odd since I am not familiar with you.

Um...I just did and you even quoted it. You are trying to draw false parallels. If my dad were a police officer and maced nonviolent women, I would not be surprised if the entire family got blowback right up until we left dad all by himself to sit around and play with his mace. What part are you still confused about?

Sucks to be a cop now a days, with all of the ways the public can video tape your behavior and abuse its a lot harder to get away with it. I hope all you young kids out there who know how to use computers to put these a-holes in their place make life hard on these bastards.
