After seeing the thread just posted on occupy wall street and the minor arrests that were made as well as the absence of news coverage I had to ask my self if the people of the USA are actually willing to fight for what they believe in.

I constantly see some of the biggest conspiracy theorists on this site who obviously come from the US talking about taking the country back and about battling the government but nothing ever amounts to anything. I guess I would like to know if you guys fear for the way you would be treated if you had to stand up and fight? Or is it that you like to watch from the back of your computer screen while others take on the dirty work. For a place which seems to boast extreme nationalism its surprising to not want to help your fellow man out. If and when protests like those happen in Spain ( where I live) or Europe for that matter people really seem to get involved and there is news coverage from all over about these events. this is how a real protset against what you believe in should be held and even though it was peaceful I felt a part of my country more than ever when I saw what was going on and we went back the next day and the next and made the news see what we were saying and why we were there.

Spanish Revolution

I wonder to myself if in a country where you complain about your media reporting falsely , your country being run by idiots, your rights being taken away and the value of the dollar falling wouldn't someone finally just take a stand and have a mass revolution through the whole of the country or a mass protest. It's happening everywhere! Ireland , Spain , Germany , Libya, Egypt the list goes on and yet the ones on here claiming the worst don't seem to do much about it.

Now I know the states where the ones in the past who had an enormous influence on the world when they went through a revolution in the 60s . It was admirable and the people fought for what they wanted being fuelled by love for each other and their society, but after that it seems to have vanished like a fart in the wind as you got comfy .

US revolution in the 60s.

I wouldn't say you guys are cowards either or scared I just wonder if most of you are brain washed in your society and feel helpless. Really everyone I sincerely hope that you realize I am not taking a stab at you! I truly just want to know if one day you will stand up and at what cost get up of your computer and do something. The good thing about it would be that most of the western world would feed on it as you have a strong influence around the world. I ask myself if maybe that time will come for us all we just need the states to start it, almost like what happened with Egypt and the rest of the Arab world. At the same time the states are taking part in massacres in foreign counties and the government seems to be driven by the objective of overthrowing countries which seem to be a threat. It is all hearsay and that's why even here in Europe we all agree that the best person to take charge of the Us would be Dr Paul, honest to god if people can not see that and still want to continue with the way things are the country will fall. Like it or not the US is an influencial part of the western world and your choosing of the right candidate means a lot to people of other places too that's why many Americans will say, "well, What do you care about American politics" The fact is being half Swiss , Half Spanish I see the partnerships our countries hold and value the right choices to be made. All read this and maybe reflect on what it says. Why do they all hate us?

Take care guys and remember I'm asking honest questions, If my government doesn't act soon my mates and I will take to the streets again and I'm willing to get arrested again and we are willing to fight for our freedom. Are you?

Not everything is a conspiracy I don't think. Surely your government needs to serve you not the other way around. If everybody just gives up like that a police state would be imminent .

No, everything will continue to go downhill until the riots breakout, then we'll have soldiers/police state 24 7. thrown into camps, turned into full time slaves.

Texans aren't ready to stand up and fight. Texans are ready to lay down and shoot. Aim small, miss small.

yes we are wimps.we have the death penalty for killing cops and our judges and lawyers are corrupt.the older generation grew up on cop shows and were brainwashed into not questioning the gov.the younger generations are retarded and dont know how to use a gun.also the district attornies cherry pick the jury pools which have ties to local government.i know a women whos soninlaw and daugter are cops .she got jury duty like six times in one year.i am registered and have never sat on a jury.its all a scam to tax the poor.even my mentally disabled wife was coerced into signing a pleabargain in jail.she is schizophrenic and her meds were not working.its gotten to the point that folks dont call the cops anymore because its not worth the hassle.we cant even shoot illegal immigrants.the mexican army invades us on a regular bases.but heaven forbid you are a raghead on a dome of oil, your ass is grass.and the military is the lawnmower

Perhaps you could define "fight". If you mean to take up arms and kill one another in the streets, then no, definitely not.

Seeing the recent demonstration in NYC was promising.

Do we feel helpless? Absolutely. We have a President in the WH now who is trying to address some of the issues about the unethical goings-on and downright stupidity and thievery associated with Banks and wallstreet, but he is being resisted and constrained at every move by certain political groups. As long as populations continue to elect them, and put them in office..........then what else can we assume except this is what people want? We will eventually degenerate into two classes at this rate, like the rest of the world.

I guess it is what they want.

Yeah , good answer...If needs be ! I always find it slightly disturbing how people in the Governments can be so inconsiderate and honestly believe that they are our bosses! Seriously looking at it from an objective perspective I can imagine them sitting in their rooms talking to their wives or sipping on a whiskey with their rich friends laughing at the fact that people are actually protesting or trying to undermine their authority and I bet they think to themselves why? Aren't these people happy? well the fact is NO!! until all of governments are sorted and start serving us again i will never be happy.

Many people still believe that the government does serve us, and this is no longer the case. The police state is already here, and will continue to progress. He is correct, the threat of imprisonment, torture, and/or death is very real. However, I believe if the situation continues to deteriorate enough for enough of the population those threats will not be a significant enough deterrent for many, and the current power infrastructure may be overthrown. All is not lost, we just haven't lost enough to stand up against it... Yet.

My perspective is we, as Americans, have become complacent and lazy. We are basically self absorbed and get involved ONLY when our personal lives are at risk. And that involvement is only to re-obtain that which was taken. Not many people are willing to speak out or fight , as they would rather sit at home watching reality TV, whilst eating cheetos.

I fear that no one will step up to the plate until its too late, We will wait to see if someone else will do it for us. Then only respond after our rights are gone, because "why bother until it happens"

Now shhhhhhh......Im trying to watch American Idol......

I don't think they're "willing" to stand up but I think being pushed to stand up is another story though. I feel that just like anybody, they want to hold on to the smallest hope that everything is going to be okay until reality comes down hard. I really don't blame the masses for not wanting to do what they know is necessary because it will upset the delicate balance between our disillusioned world and our reality. However, it's not the question if but when for what reason and where will the line be drawn? I do believe it's only a matter of time however, for how everything will play out, well that's a story still to be told.

There won't be any revolt here. What ever they put into the water to keep people calm works very well. Years ago by all rights there should have been massive shoot outs and bomb attacks at family courts due to the constant injustices people face there. But nothing. Red light cameras and speed camera should have been torn down the day they were installed, yet the seem secure.

It makes no sense. No matter how much the government oppresses us, we take it. We had the American Revolution over a 3% tax. Now we accept huge taxes like it's our moral duty to fulfill government money quotas.

I can't comprehend how this continues other than to believe there is something added to the water and it makes people accept tyranny. Otherwise I have to believe we are a nation of yellow bellied, slack jawed, stupid wussies. And I can't accept that.

it WILL happen. you mark my words. change isn't near...it's here.

i know it doesn't seem like it. there aren't swarms of people out in the streets, right now. we're all in our houses/apts/parent's basement...preparing. i know SEVERAL people late 20s-late30s who are itching to say F*^K IT and quit their jobs. everyone is tired of this way of "life". we're ready to walk away from the machine...and that's what it's gonna take. we can't be the system...so we have to simply walk away from it.

it could be months before we the people take to the streets...but the fire has already been lit. it's only a matter of time. the last jenga block has already been pulled. subconsciously...the riots have already started. consciously..it's only a matter of time before these thoughts/feelings manifest themselves. but...i have a feeling it's gonna be a lot different than everyone is thinking it will/should be.

To fight, we'd need the backing of the people. That doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon. We would also need enough people to actually make it a fight. Under the present circumstances, we would be ill-prepared and downright suicidal to do something now.

But since you seem to know so much, why don't you come over and join the movement so that we may all benefit from your experience and superior wisdom.

If one were to tally up all the domestic terrorism cases in America, the rising number of Militia groups, more people voicing their concerns on the internet, blatant and obvious disregard for unjust laws, the number of people protesting, the rise of incarcerations for political prisoners, the police always having to be out in riot gear at crowded events... well these speak for themselves and they will only continue to grow, however you won't hear these stories being covered daily whenever they happen because it makes the average U.S. citizen look unhappy and not to satisfied with what "freedoms" they have left.... and now we can't have that when it's supposed to be the model for the world.

No by no means do I mean fight as in shoot people and the rest. We( here in Spain) As you have seen in the videos I'm sure took to the streets in the thousands and peacefully protested to the extent that the police were getting furious with us. We sang songs to them and mocked them about being sheep to the government and they couldn't handle it you could see them wanting to crack and just start beating us. And they stood like robots not even listening to what anyone said. Some riot police seem to have nothing more than a peanut inside their heads by hey , at least they can put dinner on the table for their family ..unfortunately that is their mentality

Here in the UK when the riots kicked off, the police stood back and did nothing, not because they thought the rioters were right, but because they were hoping to get something from the government, you know new laws etc.

There was also calls for them to use water cannon and rubber bullets, shutdown twitter and social media etc etc. The same sites that everyone was saying couldn't be shutdown during the arab spring. However there was a very telling statement from the home secretary, in which she said no to the above, the reason she stated is because, they govern by consent ie we the public give them their mandate, i see this as dont p**s off the majority or the s**t wil hit the proverbial. lets face it in the UK even with every active service person (army, navy, airforce and police person) called to duty and onto the streets (not that they all would) they would still be very heavily outnumbered, short of them bombing the entire congregation of people they would cattle'd.

Never underestimate the power of the people when roused from slumber

A few questions were asked thank you for your tremendous support sir. I have my own country to deal with I asked you guys question about your own country. I have taken to the street I have been arrested , I have not however been beaten like some of the people. Have you taken to the street or at least started a party that is able to speak it's mind in a peaceful manner about the situations in your country? Maybe that would be a good start ...dontcha think
