ever read that story about the guy who's body temperature gauge went wacky and ended up having to make his entire house a deep freeze to keep his internal body temperature from frying his internal organs? his family had to wear winter parkas, in their house.

no see you're the kind of selfish scum that thinks the only people worth living are people who agree with him. everyone else is an acceptable statistic, which as you have indicated would be any elderly person who doesn't get out and revolt. why don't you go in the hospitals and yell at the patients while you're at it.

Fighting and arguing among ourselves is exactly what the powers that be want us to do. It deflects us from the real problems, namely: the corporate fascist police state corruption of our political system, and the misguided global militarization of our national foreign policy.

Let's give these demonstrators a chance to get the ball rolling. They're the ones who are out there doing something while we're sitting here debating one another on message boards. Let's give their chosen tactics of non-violent demonstration a chance. Non-violent civil disobedience worked for Gandhi, and it worked for MLK.

If they want to escalate the violence and take it further, let the first blood drawn be on their hands, and not on ours.

don't you find it amazing that these marxist types try to make everyone believe that the whole problem is our people? WE are the scum. we let this happen. yet they can't stop it either, not without violent revolution and they know it, and the ones who caused it, planned it that way. that's why the first thing that comes out when the truth is finallly on the table is the evidence that they've been brainwashed to believe WE are the problem. WE are living the high life, at the expense of others! did you know that? so why then do we need to realize how abused we are, if we are not abused? because only non white people are abused. doh. didn't you know that?

I don't think it's right that anybody should suffer or live in poverty. I'm not privileged, I'm broke and unemployed with a 4 year university degree which I obtained through long-since paid-off student loans.

Respectfully, I think Marxism is pretty much a dead horse in today's society. Fascism and totalitarianism exist in our capitalist society. I believe it's arguably pretty true that we did let this happen to us, but that doesn't make us the cause of the problem. I believe that we all have a common cause, but we have all been more or less brainwashed and conditioned to fight among each other, rather than raging against machine that controls us all.

This, in my opinion, is not about right against left, and not about black against white. This is about totalitarianism, which can exist in a capitalist system (i.e., Nazi Germany, fascist Italy) as well as in a communist system (i.e., the now-defunct USSR). More pointedly, this is about capitalist greed among the 1%, and the international bankers, and the multinational corporations that control us all and practically own us all.

This all boils down to banking. We are slaves to them because of loans and interest. Want to stop the machine? Stop borrowing money! If you want something, pay cash for it. If you want to own a home, let the homeowner finance it. Keep the banks out of the loop. Move your money to a credit union. Starve the machine, you do have the power.

Why do you think the economy isn't growing? It isn't because no one is spending money, they are. It's because no one is borrowing. People have started to hoard cash and the banks are getting nervous. Ask any financial expert what makes the economy grow and they will tell you lending. Stop feeding the machine!

i recall having a conversation with a gentleman from somewhere in africa. right here on ATS. he basically said all the same things. that white people were a bunch of scum sucking low life devils who lived good lives at the expense of others all over the world. when i told him that my life had been hard and that my family were not slave owners and my parents had been hard working honest people, he said: oh well, you're a double loser then. you can't make it in esau's world and you can't make it god's world, cause you're a white devil. and when he found out i was female, he basically indicated that i was a completely worthless piece of human flesh. women don't matter to god at all, he told me, especially white women/ oddly enough, this type of thinking has spread all over africa. today, white girls walk the streets of south africa as prostitutes because their families have all been driven into poverty to pay for the sins of their fathers.

now just based on the expiration date of some of these prejudices (hundreds and in some cases, 1000s of years), i'm guessing that this is not going to get any better before it gets worse, because if we here in the US with equal opportunity employers and state programs to help people which we pay for, by the sweat of our apparently spoiled rotten brows, are any indication, the white people in south africa are never going to live that crap down. they should move out of there before they are all genocided too.
That is really messed up and I totally sympathize with you and your situation, but that doesn't mean that all black people think that way or that all men think that way. A lot of people misdirect their anger but it's illogical to blame all modern white people for the crimes of our ancestors, or to blame all men for the patriarchal systems into which we were all born. It only makes sense for black and white women and men of the 21st century to work together for a common cause which can benefit all of us.

i don't think we are even remotely capitalistic. we just aren't pure socialists yet. this is not a capitalistic country. the gov owns everything, even your house is owned by the gov. that's socialism. well i take that back, your house is owned by the IRS because the moment you stop paying taxes on it, they come take it away. but they are here on government authority and take your house by government authority so ends up the same. what difference does it make if they own it or approve it to be owned by someone, as long as it isn't you that owns it? i don't have anything. everything is owned by the gov. even my trash.

dunno why people keep saying this isn't a socialist country cause it sure the heck is.

I've had exactly 2 credit cards since I paid off my student loans, and I got rid of them and haven't had another one since 2005. As a result my credit is more or less nil; I don't have bad credit, I just don't really have any credit at all. The credit companies have a name for people like me, but I forget what it is.

Ass for the international bankers on Wall Street, we US taxpayers, badly represented by our sold-out US politicians, afforded them a ridiculously unrealistic multiple trillion dollar bailout in 2009, which we couldn't afford and which they'll never repay, supposedly on the condition and with the understanding that they would use that money to refinance our economy. That hasn't happened, it isn't going to happen, and instead they used the money to enrich themselves and to buy out smaller banks and so increase their monopoly positions. That's a big part of what this protest is all about right there.

It's ok to have them, just use restraint and pay them off each month. They can't stand that. I got a new one a couple weeks ago, and they were trying to sell me on payment protection services. I told them I never carry a balance, and they hung up on me! When I make a purchase, I transfer that money from one checking account to another. At the end of the month, my money is there to pay the card off. My credit rating stays high and my debt stays low. only debt I have is my house, which if I could have found an owner willing to finance one, I wouldn't even have that with the banks.

i know all black people don't think that way, it just doesn't help that our current president spent the last 20 years in a church of a man who said things like this:

that's our president's former spiritual mentor. these guys are the ones in power, and they don't like the people they rule over. that can't be good when paired with calls for revolution, particularly since his folks are right in the midst of all this. here comes the suffering and i categorically refuse it.

I don't own a house, I rent, and a lot of my friends also don't own their own homes. Government owned housing in the US is social welfare in a capitalist system. Having a social welfare system doesn't mean that the whole system is socialist. I suspect that the government owns less than 5% of the housing in my small town. The other 95% is mostly heavily mortgaged, which means it's owned by bankers and finance companies, not by the government.

The tax monies which the government levy against us are used as guarantees by our government to the bankers, particularly the Federal Reserve bankers, as collateral on the loans that the government borrows from the Federal Reserve and international financiers. Our government has a constitutional right to create our own money supply, but instead they have empowered the Federal Reserve to print money, and so our government borrows our money supply from the Federal Reserve, which is not a government bank. The Federal Reserve is not federal, has no reserves, and is entirely owned by a handful of international banks who have offices on Wall Street.

yeah i know that part. but even that is centralized. it's all socialism. even the banks. it's just they didn't preach about how the other socialist countries handled their monies and banks. that's cause if you know, you'd know we were already a socialist country, only keeping up the facade of being capitalistic, so they can blame all the crap their doing to dominate the world for global socialism, on capitalism. this is not a capitalistic country. you can't do a dang thing with your money without approval, cause it really isn't yours. they even want to control the type of light you have in your house. i could see it if you had sun lamps for light and risk the health of anyone who came in your house, but some of this stuff is over the top.

I don't believe that the President has that much power. If he doesn't toe the line for his corporate masters he'll be eliminated just like John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon were eliminated. Obama is hard for me to distinguish from a 3rd term for George W. Bush. Both Bush and Obama supported the Wall Street bailout plan in 2008-2009. Obama retained Bush appointees like Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and General Petraeus. His administration is almost a carbon-copy of Bush's administration. This new policy of not cleaning house when the White House changes from one political party to another is practically unprecedented in US politics. Our political system doesn't work anymore, it has completely sold itself out to the 1%. Our politicians do exactly what the overpaid corporate lobbyists tell them to do.
