Most of these protesters have college degrees, they are all very well read and well spoken. They are not dead beats, they are dressed to get dirty not to impress the fashion police.

I think it looked like a bunch of babies laying on the ground crying.
If the police officers wanted to take the tarps, so what, let them! And act like real men and gentlemen, unaffected by the rain!
That would have looked far more better then people being dragged along the ground because they are to childish and stubborn to walk for them selves. Just whining about everything.
How are you people ever going to be able to make a revolt if you are afraid of something as trivial as the rain or bad weather?
If a "peaceful" protest is done, stand tall no matter what!
This movie did not impress me the slightest.

I politely disagree with you, and your assessment of the video.

Today your tarp...tomorrow your home, and freedom. Just look around you, it's already happening. It's not about "standing tall", stiff upper lip, and all that "big boys don't cry" crap. It's about "holding" on to what's yours. Holding on to what you have, no matter how small. No one should have the right to come and just TAKE what you have.

But, I'm just an old hippie from the "old days", so what would I know. What I do know is this....I live in a Great Country, with a Great Constitution, drawn up by Great Minds of the time...I will "protest" against those who act in a manner that attempts to negate that TRUTH.

And that is your right to do my friend!

But I reason with the fact (so I think) that the people acting like such in the video already have a home.
They are out there trying to make a point, and in that loop of events, I think that they could act in a better way.
It does not impress me to se people behave as in the video.
The police officers did not steal the shelters from homeless people, did they? I could be wrong, perhaps they did, and if so, that would be absolutely disgusting.
But I thought I saw some words about the protestors having college degrees for example. I guess they have not felt much real physical pain in their lives. Once again I do not know them and of course I could be wrong.
Perhaps they are absolutely hardcore and does not feel any pain what so ever, they just do as the European soccer players, cry for nothing just to get attention?

If they want to make a revolution the way many people seem to have started talking about, they have to be able "not to cry", and withstanding the rain is a good start to get some training and also look good at the same time.

the files on stalin weren't released until a couple years ago. the whole time i was in school i was just told stalin was the leader of the soviet union who kicked hitler's ass. that was it

Well I guess we differ in the fact that I actually have forseight for what future generations will have to deal with if we don't excavate this filth now. The country is operated by the people. Central banks aren't giving anyone heat, hydro, or food.

That and the fact that you seem to think socialism only branches into "communism" and "fascism"... but there is libertarian, state, democratic, even anarchy... you seem to think its either marxist/lenninist or nothing.

Stalin do get portrayed in allot nicer ways then other mass murderers.
Schools do not seem to like to mention that he killed about 23 million people. But hey I guess that is ok since socialism and communism are so nice things....
