Media continues to ignore the fact that thousands of people turned up on september 17th to peacefully protest Wall St, with many setting up camp and planning to stay for at least a week.. Because the media is not covering it I have seen people posting on things that it did not happen or that no one turned up.. Luckily youtube user tragedyandhope has put together a compilation of videos and photos that prove it took place!

Mainstream media wont cover it..

How is it that there is stories on fox etc. about this and you say media blackout? Just because it's not screamed 24/7 on all channels does not a blackout make.

You're right, nothing. Everyone should just go home and accept their fate. Obviously, things will get better if we keep our mouths shut. Let's draw no attention to the problems we face, unless they're on every newspaper in America and every other TV channel on cable they're not real problems so we should just ignore them.

Hear that Tea Party? Stop protesting, it won't accomplish anything.

According to a protester on another thread who attended there might have been a 1000 protesters, not 1000's.

TPTB and the media will only take some notice or real interest if its 10's or 100's of thousands.

Small numbers = futile exercise!

Hi There!

Thanks for the awesome footage here. Great to see. You are doing the job that journalists should be doing.

After reading this great thread I have written the following to the BBC News;

"I am writing to question why you have not showed any footage or reported in any way the Wall Street Protests in U.S happening this weekend?

It is not being reported on any major news sites or broadcasts.

Please inform me as to why this is not being shown."

How gagged are the journalists??? Very very very!

Good luck, People!

As a citizen of the UK and as a news consumer I want to know about this, so just because you think it is not important enough, given the world trend for protests against the Global Banking Infrastructure, does not mean it is not important. It is important to me and I want to know about it.

looks pretty quiet on W-street...

www.earthcam.com...

Not the tents and hippies I'd expect from the video. Too bad the initiative is great.

I've seen this idea of MSM silence on a news story on a few occasions, and EVERY time without exception, it has actually been very easy to find MSM stories on that topic.

Lets see what we find on this one...

FOX
MSNBC
AFP
New York Times
San Fran Chronicle
CNN
AAP

...and hundreds more.

Proving once again, this claim to be untrue and mere ATS hyperbole.
People so desperatly WANT a conspiracy to be true, even when it isnt, and easily disproven.

This will not be a mainstream story until some idiot sets fire to a dumpster and pushes it out into the street. Then in come the cops, then blows are thrown, then the tear gas, and then...you will see large scale media coverage that shows a once peaceful protest in a bad light.

I'm not totally against corporations, (I've never worked for a poor man), but there does have to a change in how we conduct business.

The Mom & Pop stores have to be viable and in todays climate…it just isn’t that feasible.

I hope that it goes on all week, disrupts traffic with no violence, and hopefully catches some attention of those who make the decisions.
