Deflect, obfuscate, change narritive.
(I'll wait until you look up the words)
Your premise is weak, however. You're quick to point out faults without offering solutions.
Typical.

Wow,, don't think I missed that. Demeaning to the end eh? Not very impressive for ATS's top poster.

Again, I ask, why are you so offended by those doing what you protected their right to do, because it's not as impressive as you think it should be? You don't even seem to be in disagreement with their stated goals, just not impressed with them. lol If it's not meeting up to your standards, how about contributing, instead of beating up those who support it with your ego.

If I may. . .
Slayer isn't offended, just disappointed in the level of awareness, respect, honour, and responsibility of those that represented themselves at the Starbucks Uprising Of 2011.

Yes you may, of course.

I do not think Slayer should put everyone there in one box. Not everyone there is wearing a mask, jobless, nor in college. How are these folks being disrespectful?

Perhaps slayer comes from an "all out war" perspective, and so this falls short of his expectations?

I don't know how old you are but one of life's biggest lessons is never to put anybody up on a pedestal. EVER. They are human and are prone to human frailties and they'll always disappoint you for whatever reason. Real or imaginary.

Again, I ask, why are you so offended by those doing what you protected their right to do

Ahh See there you go again "ASSUMING" I'm offended, upset or angry. I'm not. The "Cause" was DOA when pubescent boneheads turned it into a farce with simple minded internet Youtube stupid antics

You don't even seem to be in disagreement with their stated goals, just not impressed with them.

I've had my rear in the fire for this country what have you done?

Spew rhetoric and chant kumbaya online?
Isn't it time for your favorite OWN network show?
Perhaps Mr Slayer needs a reminder of his own words. hm?

Because there are Bozos in clown suits like this running around with retarded signs

Yeah, they should be wearing tri-cornered hats with teabags hanging off them and 19 century outfits. That stuff gets taken seriously.

BTW, I'm 46, and glad to be. lol I've lived a long life and contributed to my family and community. I have not ever told anyone don't bother, because you just won't be impressive enough.

What's that old saying, be a part of the solution, not part of the pollution?

Obviously we are a couple old birds not willing to change our flight plans. Hopefully we both end up where we're headed.

You have to understand, Slayer (I'm assuming) is an NCO. They are critters that see things in black and white.
I'm an officer. Which means, when they put on the bars, they took part of the brain. I just know what fork to use at the mess tent.
Ultimately, this means that the judgement of an NCO is pretty spot on. Probably around 99.9%
(or else they don't remain NCO's)
So my impression of the lackluster event was actually confirmed by someone who's opinion I value. Further reinforcing that this was a staged event that didn't reach "the people" because the event wasn't FOR the "people".

It was a litmus test designed to test whether Obama hadd the support to make direct moves against capitalism.
Of course, just my humble. . . .

True..

I also love this as well..

Think about it.

LMAO come on Slayer,, you do see my user name right? You do see my avatar right? (angel gettin the hell of that pedestal fast and ripping off those angel wings on the way. The great female dillusion
)

You can be certain I did not consider you to be on a pedestal, but you did when you mentioned your service in relation to "what have you done" comment to me.

Hey thanks for bringing that back up.

It's still a valid question. In the meantime while you contemplate an answer I have to go work.

I'll play with you kids later.

PEACE

And I answered you. Nursing, prior to that I worked with mental health and mental retardation services. There just weren't enough of those "be the best line cook" jobs around when I needed one.

By deflect, obfuscate, and changing the narrative, should I assume that you're referring to your own tactics? Or will this another one in the series of questions you've avoided answering? I assume it will.

The solution has already been offered, and it's the topic of this thread: non-violent civil disobedience, starting with this peaceful protest. All I've done is stated my support of it.

I don't believe the solution lies in Obama, or in continued reliance on the failed political process, as you've suggested I do. I don't believe the solution lies in reducing corporate taxes, as you've suggested you do.

Too funny! I see no one had the guts to burn anything larger than a $1 bill. Burn the real money to make your statement. Like the loan agreements to Solyndra, GM and Chrysler... Do you have any idea of the jokes being told about the protestors on the floors above the streets? I understand that the odor of patchouli outweighed the smell of diesel exhaust on the street.

This will accomplish what exactly? Nothing but a European fantasy. Take your protest to the The White House or to Capital Hill please. Stop disrupting traffic and commerce everywhere else. Protest those who enable the actions and behavior that you so abhor. Open your eyes. The Bankers are simply operating WITHIN the margins that have been given to them over the years. Margins that seem to constantly shift.

Enjoy your peanut butter sandwiches. Don't forget to wash it all down before you choke.

How's this going today?
Are the people still protesting or has it been broken up yet?

Look..I've been down there twice. yesterday, they were literally wasting time talking about committees for this or that, who should be the police liason, and generally not being very protest-y. by comparison, I was at a protest in L.A. in front of the israeli embassy a few months ago,(this was over the palestinians, not the banks) and both sides were loud, committed, and energized. no arrests, no fights, just 2 groups stating their position with fire. that fire seems missing here..it was very low-key. these guys, as well-intentioned as they are, are not the sharp end of the stick against TPTB. wish they were. I understand today was more active..maybe, as things progress, it will get better. but, although I'm critical, I'm very supportive because, THEY GOT OFF THEIR #ING ASS AND DID SOMETHING. most americans won't do a damn thing while the bankers rob us, and our descendants, blind. they are to be commended, no matter what.

Still all I see is more infighting.
People for and people against.
If you served I'm proud of you, I really am.
If not, I'm still proud of you.
The big story here is, there are people who have recognized a clear threat and they are doing something about it.
But the PTB has got fools infighting, give the PTB a big pat on the back.
And a round of applause to those who are currently doing something to help the average American citizen out of this ....rutt.
Ask yourself, is it more important to fight over words or to fight for a worthy cause?
We all got a big problem, some are doing somrthing about it.
Hope it helps
