I think it's a good thing. It's a part of all of us. The world suffered that day, and still does to this day. It's good to display the fact they're not forgotten.

Exactly. Yes these pictures can be hard to look at. But it shows that we have not forgotten about the events of that day. It shows that we are not sugar coating it. So much respect to ATS for using this background today.

I will never and could never forget.

Just as a heads up -- there will also be a "moment of silence" tomorrow on ATS, beginning at the time the first plane crashed into the North Tower, and ending when the North Tower fell (eastern time).

Thank you.

God bless America!

I can only wish that we can heal as a nation and learn from the events that led us to that day and how it has changed us since then. A lot of good people died that day but a lot of good people are still dying today.

May God Bless our troops and bring them home soon.

Peace.

Dude, I did not know any of these people. But these picture are of bodies. Twisted, smashed, impaled, burnt, ripped apart- it is all there. Not to be admired. There is nothing poetic about this.

you cannot deny the fact that thousands of people, a great percentage innocent people, outside america have died too. because this very day.
there is nothing more insulting than the Hypocritical attitude american government has towards the people of the invaded countries.
Also I'm with the innocent american people that died that day to pay for the excuse of a war. they have nothing to do with the corruption of their leaders. and I assure you they wouldn't wanted any revenge. not any more bloodshed. Is the elite and the greedy shadow people who pushed for this and brainwashed it's own people.
may god have mercy and forgive the deceived troops in the war.
I'm against every war started on lies, corruption and power madness.

I would rather remember it for how it happened... Not some sugar coated watered down, PC , Disney like version of that day... To me... THAT would be an insult to those 3000 people who died needlessly on that day.

By the way, I am not a dude. Just a man trying to show respect in my own way. I don't ridicule you for how you choose to show respect.... Let everyone show respect in their own way.

And for the record, nothing about that day could ever be considered poetic....If you think any of us are standing here admiring these pictures, you are sorely mistaken.

People keep bringing up others who died as a result of the "whip lash" of 9/11 ( I say whip lash for lack of a better term)

Yes,lot's of people died on that day and because of that day.

I don't recall the exact number but I think it is upwards of 5,000 US soldiers dying in the war...So far

I am unsure of how many Iraqi people were killed.

Bottom line, lots of people died as a result of 9/11 and I think of them all and show respect for them all

Again, thank you ATS for showing your respect as well..helps to show that you are not just a website... But a website run by humans. With human emotions....

ATS is not just a website, it is a big family. A community. I am honored to show respect for the fallen with my brothers and sisters here at ATS

Out of curiosity, how will this be implemented. Will you just make it so no one can post at these times?

I just do not want to lose track of the time and post when I am not meant to.

May I add a little to gimme the truth, In the immortal words of Tiny Tim-- God Bless Us Everyone.
And I may add that I don't believe Bush was behind any of this. I hope he got it right about Iraq.
He ordered it, we did it and it is done.
3000+ good Americans are still dead and they died horrible deaths. They burned, they jumped from 100+story windows as we watched--helpless and crying tears for them.
They didn't die for us-- they died because they thought that America was free and good.
They found out that America is vulnerable. America and the American way of life is beautiful. It is not terrorism and drugs and rock and roll. It is helping each other as we and out parents and grandparents did.
Don't give me the "Bush did it" crap. I was born and raised here.
America is still the land of the free and the home of the brave, No matter how many illegals we let in through the open gate.
Bush may stumble over some words but he didn't use a teleprompter with words that were not his. But written by some one in a back room who only steps forward if she has to..
Yes I would votet for Mickey Mouse if it came between him and the Obamation. Nuf said I am going to bed.
Good night and GOD bless.

Well, sadly, we know now that Iraq had nothing to do with it. But I don't want to get into that.

Bottom line, lots of people died on 9/11 and because of 9/11.

The whole thing is just heart breaking.

Again, I could never forget. The pain of that day and the following years, will live on in my heart.
