No power issues here in Reno.

Traffic is bad enough in So. Cal. when things are running smoothly, all I can say is I'm glad I'm not on the road down there right now.

Just grabbed this off a live satellite feed and it seems to be getting even worse in the time it took me to convert and upload it to youtube.

I wonder how many 5mph fender-benders are going to be caused by all those traffic lights being out.

Here's a screen-shot for those that don't do videos.

When Obama said "You need to pass this jobs bill NOW!!!", they needed a par-for-the-course distraction?
Maybe they can make it happen before the power's back on.

Yes, I probably should not have said that in writing. We don't know yet. Just my gut feeling, probably wrong, but you never know.

THey were saying that the 'cutting' was an interruption, NOT a physical severing.

If you don't think that power grid cyberattacks are possible, and that we are vulnerable to them, then all that says is that you live in a different world from me.

starting to see a few news stories pop up- reading that Detroit is mostly back up- but was it...related?

Mike Niggli, chief operating officer of San Diego Gas & Electric Co. ruled out terrorism but said the cause is unclear. “To my knowledge this is the first time we’ve lost an entire system,” he said at a news conference.

Which is why people should prep properly - when stuff like this hits my area, I got everything I need.

perhaps NATIONWIDE OUTAGES is the next big false flag by usa

they likely wanna stimulate looting and some culling of the sheeple, which a modified Irene did not yield.

china or iran etc would be blamed

Thank GOD for the liquer stores! LOL....(And, HEY, I concur!)

Well, I think CT is all back on-line now. We'll send our crews (and our borrowed crews) down San Diego way. It took about a week or so to get all the lights back on here, but all in all, they did a great job.

Cudos to our nationwide electrical crews!

Radio stations can be a great source of info. Our's in CT after Irene were telling people locations still selling C/D batteries; how to make a C battery act like a D (quarters on each negative node); which stores still had bottled water; which gas stations were open; even helped some people get generators and one family find alternative housing because their house was destroyed.

Radio stations are your friend in a crisis.

I turned mine on for a few hours every day and I'll tell you....it was a life-line. A TRUE life-line.

Prayers to All in the Blackout area....may your evening be uneventful.

Coachella Valley is almost normal. Gas proved easy to find, stores are open, many of my,neighbors have power, just not my block. this is just a few minutes up the highway from the salton sea plant where explosions were heard.

Listening to Live broadcast for a local AM radio station. They say they've confirmed it's not a terror attack. Aside for some water pressure problems for people above the watershed in ?District 5 of San Diego?, everything is as normal as can be and should return to normal by tomorrow.

tell us if this was terrorists
related? I have my doubts,
what about you?

This is only a test....

This is probably a dry run for something more sinister to see if calm and control can be achieved in the event of a real emergency.

Stay tuned for more alerts and problems across the nation. It's probably just a dry run, not to worry.
