If you can't follow the simple rules of any site (and yes most sites have these) then chances are you shouldnt post...

I have to really laugh as I read this. Not long ago there was a thread here on ATS where people were up in arms over bill S.978 and how it was going to destroy the internet. I was really laid into for stating I supported this bill and the whole IP idea. Now here we are a few months later and the conversation is basically just the opposite. All I can say is I hope those posters, who were pissed about S.978, are not now here and upset that someone is copying their IP from ATS to some other site.

Really? Seriously? Come on man. All I said is that you should be able to question the TOS and the MODs and that I don't agree with it all the time, as many have already stated as well.
You're holding onto them as if they're written in blood and then failing miserably by attempting to tell me I'm failing.
Stick to the OP, it says that in the 'Rules' right?

But if you think about it then...ATS must be a bunch of snobs as they are making money off all our postings by attracting new members to their site in which their advert revenues go up.

Before I read all the comments I think I know which site you refer too . So I will take a guess why they are copying straight away . Because that site has been plagued by really sh#tting posts and any intellingent person has lost interest in it.

So then they started the good karma system for members posts to get thempinned . I think this site has that . So basically they are stealing to get the site back up as interesting and to get their posts pinned .

Keep in mind however they have to pay this money right back into the upkeep of the site as well. Many people never give a second thought to how much it costs not just in time but money as well. Every new member generates more traffic to the site this makes more ad hits yes. But it also adds to the web pages bandwidth allocation from the ISP. And thus their monthly cost to operate goes up. And if I am not mistaken, they have quit their jobs to give more time to the development and running of this site and thus their “salaries” need to come from this income as well. And for all of this we pay not one cent out of our pocket. We get storage space on their system, unlimited posting ability, a community to participate in, and all for free. So no I do not begrudge the cash they earn off the ads in the slightest. It is all going to a good cause.

Isn't this an off topic post? Do you think this should be deleted? See how it's random... So how did you feel about the guy who got his basketball hoop removed for not following the rules (your old post), my pointing this out is for your reference, not to dethread my own post (which is what it appears you are trying to do, to me anyway). You sir seem to come from different directions and confuse me

My last removed comment a couple pages back was to a fellow member, he understood what i meant. And it was on topic because it was a response. But it was in the middle of a mods serious comments so he probably didn't like it and deleted because it was in the way of him being a smart guy or whatever (IMO).

Coming at a topic from different angles and thinking outside the box is what we do here (or so i thought). Maybe two or more members communicate differently than a Mod yet it's still up to the Mod to make that subjective decision of what is on topic? It was a comment/response my own post, i should know what my post's topic is better than a Mod after all i wrote, he was just assuming.

Okay, he's a Mod so i guess it is his call, but when it starts to interfere with the cogs in the machine (us) the cogs will start to have to be replaced because the old cogs will just wear out from it all. Then what gets left in the end is a hodgepodge of parts and some old sycophants. [a sidenote: look how well it's worked in government].

Look back simply from this thread and notice how often the members are becoming disgruntled with what appears as the randomness of the Mods removing and deleting their posts and comments. And as i've already said i have gotten countless U2Us today afteer i started this thread from members expressing their feelings about how ATS is getting carried away with the Mod buttons. We are all conspiracy theorist where do you think our heads are gonna spin to? Something is up and folks is asking questions - "to deny ignorance".

I'm sure this has been going on since the beginning of ATS. Not necessarily by the same plageriser, but still the same BS..

That was my original post before i posted this one (the one i comment on at the beginning of this thread. Now i have had one of my comments removed from this thread by a MOD for being off topic (it was a response to another member). Posting links to sources that contain copyrighted material (torrent sites, warez, etc) is against the TOS, and that could certainly apply to copyrighted material from ATS that is being used improperly.

Yet more problems because of technology.

I always had a bad feeling about this (technology, that is).

Anything that removes humans from humans and the natural world is bad.

yeah, i wasn't so much surprised but more curious about it (i'm sure everybody's "everything" is all out there somewhere).
What surprized me was ATS's deletion of the original post i made about this topic (which was my fault for including the link). Also the mods U2U response about the deletion puzzled me a bit.
Then i happen to read other confused and angry posts about deleting, removing and such and it just got me to thinking.

But anyway, i wasn't sure how many other members were aware of this copying, and i'm glad i brought it up again (this time without the link). It seems it has led to some good dialogue and communication (which i think is the funnest part of ATS). Not once did i mention DOOM or Elenin/Niburu or the rumble out back between Atheists and Christians

Somethin' neat i seen in this thread was we all were talking like a community about our town called ATS, whether for good or bad... (for the most part don't quite a few of us live here?)... oh i see it's time for bed, one last thing; wish me luck as i'm getting teeth pulled tomorrow

On a serious note though, all these people do is see a good story and wish to share it with members of their own forum. It's one thing stealing a post word for word but when it's simply using the same story & structure which an ATS member has already taken from a news source anyway you cant be getting sensitive over it.

Countless times I have seen a story posted here and used its original news source to post on another conspiracy forum. What's wrong with that? Nothing.

They are called Smurfs. They are the people who post here, but are posting on other conspiracy websites.

Sorry but ATS,NOR ANYONE can do anything about this.

It seems most were upset by someone else as claiming the post as if it was someone else's post... Folks like to be given credit for things they do, even ATS is only mentioned if it was mention in the original copied post. It was always this other guy (maybe bot) posting it as his.

Maybe the new way to post is to:

1. Always put your name at the beginning &
2. Always reference the site where your posting it

eg; Hi guys, Tawewe here posting on Above Top Secret (ATS).................blah blah blah. Kinda like a reference, but at the beginning....
